I have nothing to criticise with this service. I made a transfer from Australia to the UK. The rates were very similar to one other site I checked (TORFX), and had no fees - overall, it seems these sites all offer very similar deals. That said, the rates were much better than the rate my Australian bank offered, gaining me a couple of hundred pounds on the transfer. I work in banking. From inside knowledge, I know that retail banks get nowhere near the tiny FX margin that UKForex.co.uk offers. I love that there are no fees (over 3k transfer). I love that the more I transfer, the better a rate I get. I love that I can get immediate quotes if I am considering a transfer AND the quote is always what you get when the deal is complete. Needed to make two large transfers to the USA to pay for my group's annual golf trip. Account set-up was simple and the rates for trading were, and still are, excellent. The transfer fees are minimal - and if I had used my own bank (Barclays) it would have cost us a further £290 in both poor exchange rates and exorbitant transfer costs at £25 each. I placed a spot deal from Thailand A.M. (+6 BST)on Friday 5th April. My UK bank sends electronic funds same day, usually within two hours, technically it should have reached UK Forex same day before noon. UK Forex confirmed receipt of funds Tuesday 9th April. Yes, you have to transfer your money to a third party and alarm bells will ring when you have agreed the spot rate and arranged the deal. They then tell you that they will pass the exchanged money from what you have sent to their bank account, forward to your designated bank account. More alarm bells ring. I needed to transfer a substantial amount of money from EUR to GBP. I used UKForex to do this, as it permitted me to track the rates which were very volatile and to fix a quote and deal effectively, all on-line. I made a significant saving in operating this way. Service in the beginning was very good but it took a month and 3 emails to receive the address verification code. Might just be my bad luck but in this time the £ against the CZK dropped and it cost me the equivalent spending power of about £1000. I've now used UKForex twice to transfer to money to India. I'd already made an unsuccessful attempt to send with Times of Money's QuickRemit who kept my money for a week before sending it back without explanation. I'd also tried Western Union but finding an agent in India who would pay out was a lot of hassle and I ended up requesting the money back. I have been using UK Forex now for a few years. I transfer money for payment of goods from the UK to Europe. The banks were taking a percentage and fees prior to that. So I have a dedicated account manager. He is excellent - Thanks Alex! He called a few months ago when he saw the Polish currency take a dive and I exchanged a large amount and secured that rate with minimal payment up front. It has saved me a substantial amount. Today it saved me £400+ in one transfer. If he hadn't called I would not have known as busy running the business. I cannot recommend this company highly enough and there is no comparison with the service or rates from the banks. Really good company and great staff.

Transferring money from the U.S. to the UK can prove quite expensive, thanks to the American banks' charges for online/wire services. UKForex's U.S. bank account enables customers to reduce those charges a little, as U.S. bank to U.S. bank wires are cheaper than US bank to UK bank wire fees. The others I've tried want personal orders to a named dealer by phone - I reckon they want to build a personal connection in order to exploit it later. It beats the other services that we have used because of it's simplicity with payment directly into the recipients bank account. The main benefits for me are simplicity of use, low transaction charges (mine are always over the low level that qualify for no cost transfers) and, most importantly, really great exchange rates - I have tried to find better without success. Yes OK up to the point when they said "No Commission" and then deducted 70 euros commission at the end of the transaction. Their rate was 1% down on their quoted Euro value. So no different from the bank it seems.
