Hi I was seeking information and reviews of viva holidays as I travelled with them in early november and had a pleasant experience. But prior to this I had not heard of Viva Holidays. I booked a holiday via Groupon with Viva for a week ½ board in Corfu. The flights were acceptable but the transfer from the airport to the hotel had been 'overlooked' and having to call them on my mobile phone from outside the airport only to be told that I had to take a taxi and they would arrange return rather than collection was far from ideal! Having not long returned from a multi centre holiday to Egypt with Viva Holidays, I am writing this review to express our delight. We were very pleased with the Cairo and Sharm Twin Centre Holiday with 3 nights in Cairo and 7 nights Sharm with All Inclusive. We recently came back from the 10 nights holiday to New York and Cancun during 1st couple of weeks in September 2012. For £1399 i thought it was excellent value for money. The hotel in New York was right in the centre of the things, the new yorker and the one in Cancun has a fantstic All Inclusive. The transfer pick up and drop was on time in New York and Cancun. After having read the reviews here I could safely say it looks like Viva Holidays wrote the positive reviews. What the negative reviews say is exactly what I have experienced with them: worst service ever. I purchased a deal on Groupon to Budapest for 2 people. After sending them my details I was told I’d be contacted in 48/72h. After 2 weeks I still didn’t hear from them. I’ve just called them. They were extremely inefficient and lacking manners. I have only just booked, not been yet so cannot state what the holiday is like, but can comment on the agent! You buy the deal through groupon and pay the price asked, in good faith. You then try to redeem voucher, (call them if you want anything confirmed in under a week! ) They then tell you that the flights you want are not available, of course thes are early and week end flights, then they find you one available that sort of meets your needs, but then , heres the rub, you have to pay... This was the first time that I have used anything other than a town centre travel agent. I had my reservations only because I had never travelled this way before but I shouldnt hav worried myself as this was so easy & simple. “Misldeading advertising and a proper rip off!”

I booked a 3 night trip to Poland through Groupon 3 months in advance. When I booked it there were "11 groupons bought" for a period of 2 months (ie there couldn't have been full occupancy at any hotel, even if all 11 people booked the same date in those two months). I was told that I have to pay £20 more per person to get a morning flight from Gatwick (when the promotion didn't actually say that or that it was based on an evening flight). We booked a holiday with viva after seeing a deal on Groupon to Barcelona, we wanted a 4* hotel near the beach in Barcelona access to shopping for our 4 and 1 year old. The agents name was James, manager was called jacob, and others Tim, Peter and any other english names you can think of, but accent was 100% indian so honesty was in short supply. I recently came back from Budapest with my wife. A vacation which was organised by viva holidays and so far they have done a pretty good job. We stayed at the Atrium fashion hotel which I must say is a fantastic property all the staff were very friendly and helpfully, hotel was very clean and luxurious and right in the heart of the city. Booked a holiday to Venice through VIVA holidays. Initially didn't know what to expect from the company but I soon realised that I made a right choice. Great customer service. Ordered vouchers from Groupon to Barcelona with Viva Holidays and was supposed to be a cheap holiday. Phoned to book and was told I needed to fill in an email booking form, which wasn't ideal as I wanted to arrange it there and then. Then they took 3 days to respond just as I sat down to watch the Olympic tennis, not their fault but who phones on a Saturday lunchtime?? Hi, We recently booked a short break to Valencia with Viva. Hotel Barcelo Valencia is a very modern hotel and on first walking through the doors is very striking. The rooms are clean and offer what you need with one exception - coffee/tea making facilities but we went prepared and took our own. My wife and I often visit Barcelona and we usually choose hotels close to the city center. The flights that were provided to us were not very comfortable but we were quite impressed with the hotel that we stayed at. I bought Groupon voucher for Majorka for 7 days with Viva Holidays (saturday-saturday). The problems started at first day - during booking. I had nothing, but problems since I made my booking with viva-holidays. I never received any confirmation for the hotel, the transfer from the airpor and the buided trip I booked. I had to call and e-mail the agency an number of times and request those confirmations. I managed to speak to a manager caleld Sidney 3 day before the trip and he finaly sent them to me. Was getting an amazing deal through Groupon for 2 nights in Barcelona @ 185 GBp per person so booked it immediately. It was through Viva holidays. Everytime I called up Viva holidays office, the customer services said they will get back to me in 10 minutes and nobody ever called back. Then finally I get through the customer services and they say I have to pay extra 100 pounds per person. I thought I would take some time out and write a review about our holiday at Dreams Beach Hotel. We had a wonderful holiday, excellent staff, good variety of food, grounds of the hotel kept to a high standard, (mosquitoes huge problem). Also as you had stated the worries of the middle east not effecting Sharma Sheik.

I thought I would drop few line to say how much we enjoyed the recent holiday to Egypt with Viva Holidays!!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that we emailed the hotel to thank them and completed an online review on Tripadvisor.com
The only complaint was about the quality of the food on the Monarch flights, and the outbound delays!!
Everything else was wonderful.

Viva-Holidays did not informed us late of an upcoming strike in Greece that meant we had to arrange for alternative accommodation at the airport when our flight was cancelled. While some were informed of the trouble and stayed on their hotels for an extra day, we were dragged all the way to the airport to be told the flights have been cancelled. They also do not have an online payment gateway and I doubt they have secure facilities to store customer information. Beware. (read more)

Update - Tuesday,
didn't get call back at all so I phoned again - spoke to the original person who dealt with my complaint. He said that he had emailed the hotel and was still waiting for them but would chase again today.
He also said that my 'refund' would be confirmed by the end of the week -

Emailed dissatisfaction to Viva enquiries and copied in Groupon - got a phone call from Viva within 8 minutes - told that I needed to supply account details so that the refund could be actioned!!! - will wait for the outcome........

Success!! - My refund of £100 was in my account this morning.
Why it took 5 phone calls and an email is beyond me. I won't be consciously be using Viva again.
