I received a letter/advertisement in the post from Policy expert when my house insurance was due for renewal. This prompted me to visit the web site and fill in my details. I then received a phone call from an advisor who helped me decide which Insurer to go with. The premium was a lot lower than the renewal premium quoted by my previous insurer so I am very pleased with the outcome. Price seemed attractive but I find it disconcerting not to be provided with full written information about what policy covers and clear contact details if need to make a claim. Use of the internet may be more accessible at times, but printing out pages and pages of documents for file ref. is quite costly and time consuming - that is what we pay premium for, or at least I thought I did. Doesn't help if your printer is not working properly. (read more)

Despite being sold the policy by a very helpful guy who offered me a good deal with £70 of Amazon vouchers; it seems that this is not the case! Varying people have said varying things - some even suggested that i bought the policy with £40 cash back. It seems that someone somewhere has to play back the recording of the telephone conversation to determine if I am telling the truth but even then I have to wait 60 days! By that point, I can't get out of the policy without paying a penalty!... (read more)
