This is the best machine for the money. I did all of the research prior to purchasing is machine. I use the correct amount of soap and make sure the machine is hooked up to a soft watter line all of the machines I own are hooked up to a cold water line and the clean any dish I put in there. I do not rinse prior to putting the dishes in the d/w and it cleans the dishes perfect. I have not had any service issues on any of the 17 machines i own. I had Kitchen Aid prior and they were nothing but... (read more)

Bad Choice. Wish I'd never bought the Bosch SHU4302. Have spent more on repairs that the darn thing cost. (read more)

I've had to replace many parts. The control board is expensive and poor. Button spring tabs failed, a circuit traced burned, finally the whole control function quit. The soap dispenser door broke. Now the pressure regulator in the water inlet has failed causing the unit to blow excess water out the side panel. And that European filter system is stupid. After every wash you find a bit of leftover meat, noodles, and cat hair circulating with the rinse water. Poor wash job. Bad machine! (read more)

This is the second Bosch we have bought and both units did the same thing. We thought the first one was a fluke. I would not recommend Bosch unless you like dirty dishes. (read more)

I purchased my Bosch SHU4302 from Lowes in Nov 2004, from the beginning I thought I just had to learn how to distribute my dishes in order to clean. How hard should that be? It's a dishwasher for gods sake!
UNLESS you have it on the Power Wash, it will not get everything clean or dry. I will never buy another one. Wish I had stuck with an American brand.

My unit is a Bosch SHU3302, but essentially the same as Bosch SHU4302.
At 4 years old...
1. Had to replace door gasket that was deteriorating and leaving black goo-balls on the dishes.
2. Water inlet valve failed, overflowing the machine onto the floor. Fortunately we were in the room when it happened and turned the water off.
3. Push button control belched black smoke and failed. That's a $100 part.

The Bosch SHU43 does exactly what it says on the tin, it's not the most glamorous of appliances but for efficiency and cleanliness you can't beat it. It is a basic machine and doesn't have 5000 different settings, but it does the business. It gets the dishes to pristine cleanliness by heating the water to boiling point and this obtains maximum performance. Make no mistake this is a quality machine from a top manufacturer and is as quiet as mouse. You also get maximum capacity benefits from... (read more)

This dishwasher with its stainless steel interior and hidden heating element and no centre post really appealed to me. Unfortunately - what I couldn't see were plastic tabs for the control panel instead of metal that break within two years and a shoddy, plastic inferior water intake valve that caused the water to keep coming - even when the unit was unplugged and turned off and a major, major flood. You need great insurance for this expensive piece of junk. (read more)

I have owned this unit for less than 3 years and this is the second time it needs repair the machine cost me $600 to buy it and $195 for the first repair. I am still waiting to hear from the repair company who is 60 miles from my home what the cost will be this time, I believe I could have bought two maytags for the money I spent on this hunk of Junk .

The Bosch SHU4302 dishwasher has inferior construction/materials for the control panel and control module. The control has failed after 3 years use. Very disappointing when you pay a premium for the brand name. Also, if you intend to buy one, make sure that retailer will service it. Otherwise you will suffer like me. (read more)

I have a Bosch SHU5300 dishwasher that I paid about $800 from Sears about 7 years ago. After about 3 years the "cheap plastic" control panel tabs broke. I had to buy the whole control unit to fix it. Now it's been broken for at least a year, and the tabs that hold the door cover to the door frame are broken too. You can pull the control panel right off the door. Bosch don't care! It's a shame because I love the machine.
