“brilliant service for the past 6 years”

I've had my insurance for around 6 years now. I've had them out over my dishwasher, washing machine and cooker. The engineer is a lovely man. I've been dealt with swiftly and professionally. Just had a new dishwasher replaced with one that I was happy with. “Washing machine repair that goes on and on !!!!!”

We had an engineer come out to repair my machine over a month ago. Firstly he said the filter was blocked, that did n work, then he put a new motor in, that did nt fix it. He said it needed a new drum and ordered the part. Nothing happened for 2 weeks, I phoned, was given a date in May, heard nothing, rang again told a date in June. I've been paying monthly for my phone insurance and when I come to claim on it they completely mess me around! From the repair down to the postage. The communication is shocking and I am so angry with how I've been treated, everyone who I spoke to was very patronising and wouldn't let my opinion seem valid. Booked washing machine repair, they ordered wrong part, so fitter could not fit, then told me it would take 3 weeks to get the correct part, so overall repair would have taken 5 weeks. So cancelled scheme and went out and bought new machine, only for hotpoint to tell me the same evening part was in and could be fitted in 3 days time. Put me through to another call centre where the lady did not have a great understanding of English and was quite difficult to understand. Had insurance to cover all my white goods in house .Firstly was mis-sold a policy for a freezer for which they did not have a repairer on their list of companies so if I ever needed to claim under the policy it would have been useless. Also had a problem with a washing machine in January this is now my fifth visit from an engineer and its now May...couple of times they came without correct part even though I initially told them what the problem was. Been told My claim would be resolved but had to call everyday for an update which they promise to do by calling back. Not received one call . Each time I call they don't have a clue about the history of calls as they clearly do no log Amy information on a system or even communicate with each other. Do not touch this with a barge pole - totally useless from the engineers who come to try and repair top the 'customer service' team (in the loosest sense of the word) on the phones. Despite 3 telephone calls and two letters and my twice cancelling a direct debit. D & G will not cancel cover which I do not want on a washer/drier nor will they respond to my requests to refund the premiums they have collected despite my specific instructions. Constantly being let down by D&G with the repair of Whirlpool Amaerican Fridge Freezer. 3 visits in 3 weeks from the engineer before they decided they could not get the required part and so they said it would be replaced with a equvilent model. Hi User.

Sorry to hear about this situation.

It's likely that the theft cover only covers for theft by force or violence. A pick pocket is just theft by deception and whilst you might think it's covered because it is 'theft' you might be wrong.

The insurers have merely adhered to the terms and conditions of the policy which in this instance haven't provided cover.

Had a policy for a long time, used it for the first time this week as oven broke down. Booked an engineer to come between 8-6 so had to take the day off work. When they didn't turn up by about 2pm called and they said yes all scheduled in.
