“A total disgrace”

Had a kitchen fitted with Candy appliances in 2007. After 12 months the washer dryer failed twice. We decided to take out the extended warranty with Domestic and General. The engineer has visited us at least 4 times a year because of the dryer. The filter is at the back, not good for an inbuilt appliance. in 2009 the oven door exploded, showering the kitchen with glass. On 5th Nov the same happened again. I bought a Beko tumble dryer on the 25th of October 2014, I called the number on the appliance which rather than Beko turned out to be Domestic & General. “Disappointing service”

A small plastic paddle broke in my Hoover washing machine, very easy to fix. The number I had to phone for service was the premium rate HooverCandy number on which I was left on hold earning them money. When I got through I was told the earliest they could come out was a week away. They could not give a time, so I have to take a day off work. “Having insurance with D&G is a waste of money”

“Appalling”

Much like everyone else I cannot seem to get my washing machine repaired!! The first engineer they advised me to contact didn't show up, the second couldn't come for over a week. Each time I called I was on hold for over 15 minutes, and Involved me doing the work. I won't be keeping my insurance following this event as it's simply a waste of money!! “fridge nightmare ”

I'm so disappointed with their customer service. The are not polite, patient or even willing to hear you out. I have been waiting a week and a half just to get my fridge fixed. When finally they get me an appointment they book me in the time I'm not home, so had to reschedule again. Up to now my fridge is not fixed all the food has gone bad. “Trying to get a repair on a freezer ”

Terrible, absolutely shocking customer service - don't expect to have anything repaired quickly or when it's convenient for you. Don't expect to get to speak to the 'customer services' department. Do expect to over pay, do expect to wait, do expect to make all of the arrangements yourself, do expect to be kept on hold... oh and if it's a freezer repair do expect to be asked to keep rotten food in your kitchen for at least a week. “Do not waste your time or money on this company”

I have been trying to get an oven fixed. So far I have had 5 appointments (the 5th cancelled the day before the appointment) Each engineer has diagnosed a different problem. I waited 5 hours for the first engineer to arrive only to be told it was the element and he didn't have a spare. The second said it was not the element but another part which he did not have. Have an extended warranty on our washer dryer. Have today called to get a repair. Have rang the number they supplied and got an automated message saying I had to ring a different number. Rang the number provided and eventually spoke to a human who told me I needed to ring a different number. Rang that number 3 times and was cut off on each occasion. I purchased a mixer from argos. I took out an extended guarentee.My mixer, a kenwood has broken down twice, the first time they used a reasonable company the second time they sent it for repair, it was sent to a repair company that has the most disgusting, unhelpful people. when asked what the prognosis was, I was told they dont know. “Hotpoint washing machine repair farce”

Sorry to hear of your issues with d & g, I have also been unfortunate with this rip off company, the have had possession of my pc tower for 1half months only to my frustration now deliver it back to me with the same fault.. On top of this the y have broken the ejector button. I have been abused on the phone by the "engineer sam", told that I broke the button myself, & that I should make a fresh claim with d & g. d&g do not listen to their clients nor show any kind of common sense or empathy, I have been so frustrated with their lack of care, I have now cancelled all policies with this greedy, incompetent 'company', give it time they will be forced out of business.
