“Won't go back!”

Be aware that if your appliance is written off then you are liable for the full cost of your remaining annual cover. However, if you cancel your agreement due to dissatisfication, then your policy and monthly payments stop, no questions asked - I cancelled all my appliances with D&G out of principle as I disagree with their t&c's. “Ignore the possibility of a replacement appliance finally”

Insured a Dyson vac since we do seem to break bits regularly (hoses and bits of plastic mouldings especially!). To be fair, we probably broke around financially even for the first few years as the premiums were modest, and once we had a repair code from D & G, Dyson were brilliant at sending bits and engineers direct. Had dealings with this shower last week arranged a Sky Engineer to come out to change my digi box was expecting an up to date recording hd box but got a decrepid old thing , was arranged as no charge and we thought we were taking six months warranty on an up to date box ,we were wrong decided to cancel my 6 months warranty so domestic told us they would take full premium of 60 pounds ,will never deal with them again and i have also made my feelings clear to Sky ,shocking company… Read Full Review

“Boiler Repair”

Don't touch this company with a barge pole. You can't make contact with the repair company they use after five or on weekends and bank holidays. You then have to wait ages for Domestic & General to approve any work and then wait again for the engineer to come out. Heating broke on Good Friday and still not repaired!!! What a waste of time and money don't bother with this company, on Friday an engineer came out and said he would have to get authorisation from Domestic and General for the repair, on Saturday a letter arrived saying they would not repair and have cancelled my policy. Thanks very much I now have to go and buy an new machine, when I took out the policy they clearly told me if they could not repair it they would replace it, sneakily they changed this on the renewal which I did not notice. “Go elsewhere for your warrenty!!”

Long story, but the basics are reported the washing machine, an engineer came and said the drum had gone and he had to order the part, waited a week for the part to come, the engineer was scheduled to come between 8.40-11.40, he finally arrived at 4.40 whilst I'd popped to the shop, I spoke to him on my sons mobile and he stated that he could not pull the machine out?? “Will never use Domestic & General again”

Won't bore you with the detail as I'm bored with it myself but basically our policy was useless and we cancelled when our fridge freezer couldn't be fixed as agreed when we took out the contract. Three months down the line I'm still having to speak to them and a debt collecting company they instructed to chase close to £200 they said I owed them. I purchased an insurance policy through the purchase of a tv. A fault occurred on the tv and after 4 months of attempts to repair it they decided to write the tv off. They made an offer which was woeful and I refused, as a result a higher offer was made which i accepted. However in order to get a new tv i need a letter to say i was accepting the offer before the tv shop would send me a replacement. Trying to get the letter was like pulling teeth. Took out insurance on the recommendation of Hoover for my tumble dryer. Engineer arrived on 10th March and put in a new board. He left and said it was all done. After he left I noticed the tumble dryer was leaking which it wasn't before. Received a call a couple of days later to say engineer booked to call on 20th March as there was another part needed to be fitted. “Aggressive marketing company”

This company continually rings me, each time I say I'm not interests, please do not call me again. Each time the operator slams the phone down on me and another operator calls me back. I have tried to contact the company in writing as speaking to them has no effect, but in order to do so you have to provide them with even more personal information about yourself. Started new plans and orignals not cancelled so payments duplicated, then wrong plans cancelled so overpayments continued. Held in call queues for ridiculous lengths of time to try to sort out and all complaints staff completely inadequate in terms of understanding of issues and further mess ups. “Get what you pay for”

Oven broke down three days before policy renewal, called and they said an engineer would come in a months time! That was not acceptable so they got one that would take only two weeks. Knowing what he fault was I told them the part that was required and they said they would tell the engineers company that they would send. “Dreadful service. Left on phone for three hours.”

I have a fridge freezer 'covered' by them. My appliance has broken down for the third time, and the engineer has written it off. I lost a freezer full of food for the third time too. Domestic & General have refused to accept the engineer's report, even though the policy states a replacement would be made, if it was beyond repair.
