“USELESS AND UNPROFESSIONAL”

I would give negative or zero points if I had those options......Domestic and General insurance policies are to be avoided at any cost. My fridge freezer broke down and it took me 10 to 11 hours over 1 week on phone to get a resolution which was not to my satisfaction and guess what, THEY DO NOT CARE!! Took out a policy for a hotpoint induction hob. The engineer came out. so first half a day waiting. he then ordered parts another half day waiting. this failed to fix. waited another half a day for an engineer who did not arrive. he said he would call back when parts ordered. he did not. was then told for a week that parts were on order. they then wrote it off. they are now asking me to accept a whirlpool that is really cheap despite the fact that my hotpoint model is still available. basically… Read Full Review

“Appalling Service”

We paid for a 5 year Repair Plan for our washing machine in 2012. Twice we have need repairs and twice we have been through the painful customer service process whereby they said our payment plan was lapsed. We have it in black and white. On this second occasion, we spoke to resolutions department where they wouldn't send out an engineer until WE proved that we had paid until 2017. “Cooker insurace”

l am the policy holder of a domestic and general insurance on a hot point cooker which is just over 1 year old The fan has stopped working on the oven-simple enough repair,you may think ? “Cancelling dishwasher policy”

Received the renewal document for my dishwasher and decided that the cost was too high to be economical any longer. I cancelled my direct debit and then reading D & G letter asking for me to call them to cancel I did so,. “No Customer Service”

Very unprofessional company. Came to repair a washing machine, worked once then broke down again. Always said they would phone before they came never did. I had to get my own company to write the machine off. Cancelled the policy then they phoned to try and sell to me again. To top it all cancelled all the direct debits and they still take them. They are impossible to get through to and have no concern that the companies they contract with do not have the resources to undertake repairs. Excuse up excuse, no responsibility or accountability. “Do they really exist?”

I have had a renewal notice for my cooker, which can only be cancelled by phone it seems. However as no one actually answers the phone that is a bit difficult. I sent an email anyway but have had no reply to that either. Something stinks here. I was in two minds about it as the cooker is getting on a bit but having read these reviews I definitely want to cancel. just cancel your direct debit if it is set up monthly with your bank or building society and then its cancelled they will write you a letter asking if you meant to do this to double check giving you a few days to contact them if you don't then they should leave you alone.

“Extended Warrenty That does not pay out.”

I have never claimed on an extended warranty before, on this occasion I had a washing machine which on Monday decided to dismount the drum during a spin. This has caused damage to the outer casing and the machine was not useable. I rang the warranty company and Hoover Candy sent out an Engineer to fix the problem. I wish I'd never bought the cover. It's cost me more than a new machine and whenever a problem you have to wait for at least 3 days for an engineer then they usually moan about everything then leave you without it fixed for another few days. “Forget TV for ten days or buy a replacement.”

Our Freesat set top box started to malfunction so I rang Argos under their extended warranty. They put me on to D&G who would fix it. After two and a half hours on the phone the best offer was to have the set top box couriered 200 miles and then fixed and couriered back. This would take ten days, they said. Meanwhile as a 77 year old partially disabled I can sit at home and stare at the walls. The next offer was to refund the price of the warranty so that I can buy a replacement. “And the months drag by...”

We've being paying additional fridge & freezer appliance insurance for ten years and when we need them, we might as well not have bothered. It took three months for them to "decide" that they would replace them (despite the engineer telling them that on day 1). Four months later and they've just delivered the freezer - no fridge - no record - passed from claims to deliveries to ordering back to claims and still getting nowhere. Disgusting service - You have to chase them way beyond their advertised resolution time scales only to met by a bunch of individuals who have no intention of helping you with your claim/problem. We took out cover for a £1000 Panasonic Viera TV 6 YEARS AGO - 6 years of premiums later we needed to make a claim due to a serious issue with the picture which could not be repaired. “Rubbish, avoid at all costs”

Rubbish service, I've had to call these cretins 4 times to get the same issue fixed, first guy came didn't have the parts, a week later came to fit the part but claimed no one was home, I took the day off work this cretin never turned up yet they claimed no one opened the door. “ Bosch Dishwasher Repair”

Our Bosch dishwasher broke after three years . Having taken out the extended warranty with domestic and general I phoned them on a Sunday morning. After a few minutes explaining the problem I was given an authorisation number to give to their repairer , Bosch.
