“9 weeks and still cannot send correct replacement”

this is twice ive had to wait for a new range cooker from insurance this time 6 month old cooker had to be replaced due to grill over heated and glass door shattered been switched off three hours later cannont get parts or the r1000gt stove sterling cooker costing around £1400 twice ive paid delivery twice ive had to pay gas fitting charges twice but guess what woo hoo cooker arrived today and its only the same one they cannot supply parts for omg now im at screaming point cost us fortune on… Read Full Review

“Worst customer service in the world.....ever!!!”

Do not buy a policy with these people. They wrote my electric cooker off on September 1st and it took them until September 13th before they finally agreed to replace it...with a gas one worth 50% less of a brand I have never heard of. It is now September 23rd, they have finally agreed to replace like for like and I was told three days ago to call product replacement where I was on hold for 47 minutes. ABYSMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Breach of contract, misrepresentation and trampling over our consumer rights and we've only been paying into this plan with D&G for at least 4 months! I booked an engineer 3 days ago, to repair our Hotpoint washing machine for the umpteenth time, and we received a text message advising that the engineer would be with us between 1054-1354 today, but he failed to turn up! “Dont use them!!!!!!!!!”

you will be on hold for ages, then be connected to someone who will make false promises, then probably cut you off. You'll call again, be put on hold again (probably 20-45 mins according to my experience) and eventually get more false promises......until finally they offer to replace your faulty appliance with one half the cost!!!! I phoned D&G on Saturday morning to book a repair to our washing machine. I waited 18minutes on hold so I gave up and called back later and waited a further 15 minutes to get through.
The guy was more interested in selling me more insurance products than booking an appointment. He assured me I would get a phone call later that day or Monday at the latest to book a repair.

Got no call back on Saturday or on Monday by 4.45pm so I called again. I was told the engineer would contact me directly to book an appointment.

I told him I was not happy so he gave me a direct number to call and low and behold I seemed to get through to the same people with the same options.

If I had read some reviews before taking out the insurance on my washing machine and freezer I wouldn't have touched them.

I am going to cancel insurance and buy a new washing machine that would be cheaper than the premium I have already paid.

PLEASE DON'T TOUCH THEM.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Dreadful customer service unable to provide a repairer in the 5 days on the contract forced to find my own repairer and pay myself then numerous promises to them and phone calls by me and still not got my money back despite guaranteesof a BACS transfer no consistency and no managers or senior staff to take calls in total I've spent over 5 hours in the phone and am out of pocket by £228.55! 23 hours in total so far trying to get a replacement fridge freezer,told lies after lies for 7 weeks, offer discintinued products and not correct 50/50 intergrated! We took out a twelve month policy in 2007, they auto renewed it without our consent. 7 years later we discovered they had been taking debits for a freezer not worth one month of the payments. Upon contacting their complaints department, they try to fob off, then do not recontact. Next a letter appears claiming they tried to contact me. “Fridge freezer insurance ”

My daughter contacted domestic and general after her fridge freezer broke down within the guarantee. After taking a day off no engineer turned up. Had to lose another days pay domestic and general couldn't care LESS. Dreadful service they charged for anything and everything they could. WARNING Never ever use domestic and general. “Lamona Gas Oven ”

“Misleading information, poor service, false promises”

Repair and Protect policy- oven. Such a bad experience- paid a premium, engineer attended, told us he could repair the cooker. Would hear in 2 weeks...nothing. Called, informed 2 more weeks.... nothing. Called again... told us the part was coming from abroad so took longer!!... 2 more weeks then they cancelled our plan told us they couldn't actually get the part. “Don't Bother ”

When our new oven light went we were forced to take out a repair and protect scheme with Domestic & General in order to repair it as we were told there was no other option. 2.5 years later I have paid through the roof for this scheme in total paying out £260 for an oven only worth £280! I have found that over that time they have changed the monthly price 4 times without notifying me and when the nobs broke I had to call 3 times and organise new ones to be sent before they actually arrived… Read Full Review

Going on our experience with D & G we wouldn't use their insurance again. Last September we waited until December for a new dishwasher pump. We recently had an Engineer out twice & the machine broke again. I was told I'd have to wait until November for the next available slot. Considering its August that's not good enough, especially as we pay over £135 insurance.
