What a shocking company, my washer has been leaking since December, at least 8 visits now and it's still leaking. Never again will I use this company. Disgusting customer service, not helpful at all. “Unsatisfactory Repair to Washer/Drier”

I called to get my machine repaired as it was leaking I had to wait ten days for an engineer to come he had the machine to pieces to find the leak he found that it was the door seal he fitted the new door seal tidied up and left, next day when I went to use the machine it was dead. “Lamona Gas Oven ”

Took out a Repair and Protect plan as my gas Lamona oven control button had broken and also the cooker was not switching itself off despite being isolated from the walls main switch causing the flame to remain ignited. A repair was carried out to the Lamona cooker whereby a new ignition was fitted and also new replacement knobs. I was at the time under the impression this was now ‘safe’ to use. “Misleading information, poor service, false promises”

Repair and Protect policy- oven. Such a bad experience- paid a premium, engineer attended, told us he could repair the cooker. Would hear in 2 weeks...nothing. Called, informed 2 more weeks.... nothing. Called again... told us the part was coming from abroad so took longer!!... 2 more weeks then they cancelled our plan told us they couldn't actually get the part. “Useless company do not use them”

“Don't Bother ”

When our new oven light went we were forced to take out a repair and protect scheme with Domestic & General in order to repair it as we were told there was no other option. 2.5 years later I have paid through the roof for this scheme in total paying out £260 for an oven only worth £280! I have found that over that time they have changed the monthly price 4 times without notifying me and when the nobs broke I had to call 3 times and organise new ones to be sent before they actually arrived… Read Full Review

“Never again”

Going on our experience with D & G we wouldn't use their insurance again. Last September we waited until December for a new dishwasher pump. We recently had an Engineer out twice & the machine broke again. I was told I'd have to wait until November for the next available slot. Considering its August that's not good enough, especially as we pay over £135 insurance. “Sky protect”

“RUN A MILE ! ”

Do NOT ever take a policy out with these people .... We unfortunately did, NEVER again. Our HOOVER fridge-freezer broke on the 1st July - took 4 days for an engineer to turn up, then said it will be a week for parts, two weeks later , the WRONG part turned up (having waited in for a day for the privilege) . The correct part will be another 2 weeks !!!! in all we were without a fridge for just shy of a month ! “loyal customer for 11yrs no longer!”

Had my 11yr old washer/dryer written off by them last month. Intermittent start plus brushes. Found out that i was to pay £19.99 for del of new one (wouldn't of minded) but also £146.50 for the rest of the yrs direct debit. £13 per mth shocked is an understatement!! Only to find out that my payments were twice as much as friends with d&g. No help when I said I didn't have the money they politely were saying no payment no replacement. “Washing Machine”

When we eventually got through the young lady that we spoke to was lovely, very helpful and friendly. She arranged for the repair man to come out the following day. Again when the repair man came out, arrived on time and was great. Then after waiting for a call back we contacted D&G only to be told that we would be sent a refund and would need to buy a new washing machine ourselves, thank you and goodbye. D&G offer poor customer service, poor quality repairs, 2 weekss to get an appointment with all day time slots offered, 3 days to get through to someone just to change an address, a complaints department that admits their service is poor but just offers "sorry" via a cold call and calls placed endlessly or hold or transfered between departments. do not use this policy. I have paid for 4 years and my machine stopped working 7 weeks ago. I waited 6 weeks for them to repair it. The first apt the engineer did not come out...so that was 1 wasted day. Then someone came and told me they needed to order a part. I waited another 2 weeks. Bought a cooker in 2014 and purchased a 5 year care plan for £98. Cooker has had 2 repairs since new and now have a new oven so cancelled the plan expecting a partial refund. Contract auto renewed at begging of June 2016. Appliance broke down (not for the first time) on 16th June, repair reported immediately, advised HOTPOINT can't attend till 6th July !! Really !! But someone would contact me with 3 days to confirm if appointment could be brought forward .. No one called, so I called them...
