“Doors don't match”

★☆☆☆☆

written by cmiff on 08/12/2022

Received 3 sets of doors and only one matchers, the backs of the doors are different colours and customer services and factory say this doesn't matter as they don't affect the way they work (ARE THEY KIDDING) and because they have been removed from the packing as your requested to do to check for damage they are refusing to change or accept the doors back. Looks like company selling seconds and paying new prices. Also sent out a damaged organiser which the box was batted so obviously the goods inside would be damaged but sill sent it not good at all.

“Stay away from this company”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Bowers136 on 27/01/2022

The factory made a mistake in measurement in my order but the company doesn't want to take any responsibility and exchange the incorrect parts. They are saying that the factory made additional allowances in measurements, and not admitting that the factory sent us incorrect sizes. What a nightmare!

“"White" doors are pale cream colour”

★☆☆☆☆

written by IMatFaneuil on 13/11/2020

All I needed was a set of sliding mirror wardrobe doors with white frames and matching tracks, in an assortment of standard sizes to fit an existing opening. The Sliding Wardrobe World website made it easy to order the requisite parts from their Heritage range for a reasonable price, and they were delivered in a reasonable time. The items were well packed and in good condition, but I noticed a clear colour contrast between the door frames and the protective polystyrene foam on the corners of the doors: in comparison with the polystyrene the door frames were pale cream. When I examined the runners they matched the colour of the doors: they too were pale cream. I emailed the company remarking that the doors were off-white, and received a prompt but curt reply that they had "always" been ‘décor’ white. There is no reference to this on the website. I emailed again, explaining that I had expected 'white' to be similar to standard plain white paint. I got another prompt reply which acknowledged that "if we do get problems with colour it is occasionally the Home Décor white". Unfortunately the website refers only to white, providing no clue to customers that it is a creamy white. They say "It's not been big enough a problem for us to change anything on the site", but I say that they need to make it clear that the product is not plain white.

Hi There
Very sorry for your disappointment. I will agree that the SpacePro Heritage is not a pure white, and the polystyrene packaging is definitely pure brilliant white. The photos though are of the actual product and when compared to pure white surrounds on the website they are a very good representation of actual colour.

Im am afraid that, even though SpacePro are the largest producer in Europe for the last 20 years of so, they do not do a pure brilliant white standard sized door, but in turn, we do not advertise one.

We do however offer pure white in other custom/made to measure ranges if asked and we always send out samples when asked. Again, sorry for your disappointment.

I am also sorry if you felt the replies were curt. November was a very difficult time for our staff, during Covid, with volumes up by over 200% and staff and product shortages. We should have tried to be more understanding.

“just too short”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Simongriffiths on 07/09/2016

Measured the gap at 2400mm high at its smallest measurement. The floor and the ceiling run out slightly to about 12mm larger than that. The gap is 3400mm. So no problem, as the top rail is 50mm deep. If you supply a measurement of 2400mm your doors will be 2346 high and you will have a gap to sort out. Don't bother calling to make a complaint, you will only receive a lecture along the lines of "we make 500,000 doors a year, you are wrong and we are right, start packing out the gaps". Any input you make will be interrupted and you will be spoken over. If you mention, in any way that that is not acceptable, he will offer to terminate the phone call, because he knows best. I have another room with sliding doors that we measured and were supplied correctly by B and Q, but apparently they are also too big and should also be 54mm too small. Strange they seem to have been absolutely fine since 2009. And were fitted over the carpet. I can understand that a door too big is a bigger problem than a door too small, but 54mm, really!! Anyway just going to buy some timber to sort this mess out. Thanks for the lecture!

HI

Very sorry you felt the need to leave this review. You have confirmed your doors are exactly 54mm less than the height you supplied (2400mm), so the factory have manufactured correctly (and according to the tech specs shown on the website) . The simple conversation we had on the phone established that you had a 60mm gap above and at least 10mm below, which adds up to at least 70mm and 16mm bigger than the 2400 you supplied .

We (you spoke to a couple of our staff) were not trying to lecture just trying to help, and offer the best advise, which its what we are here for. In this instance it was not well received, which we are sorry about. Your opening will require some packing as explained, and given the opportunity we would have sent this to you.

If you need anything in future please don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely, The Team at SWW.

“Expensive price, cheap product, arrived damaged &...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Kinsleyi414 on 25/11/2014

I spent £500 with SWW on 3 'units' for inside my wardrobe.. a set of shelves, and 2 sets of hanging rails. For my £550 I got 5 pieces of equal sized contiboard (divides, shelf uprights, or to be cut down into shelves myself), and 5 more smaller pieces for the inside of the shelves. I also got 5 metal bars, and several packets which contained a few screws, wall plugs, and small right angled brackets. The instructions were basic and incomplete. I needed to add my own screws and brackets to make the strucutre stand. Every piece of contiboard was chipped. SWW told me I only had 24-72 hrs to check the delivery at which point they would accept no complaint about the state of the contiboard. They also placed all blame on their delivery company - but the boxes were in perfect condition. I would recommend going to a diy store and spending 1/5 of the money on putting the parts together yourself

Dear Mr Benjamins

Firstly let me apologise for any disappointment on your part. After looking into this it is confirmed that your reports of damage were well outside 72 hours (3 days), in fact closer to a week. These rules are there to protect the delivery company against damage done by consumers and installers. As you can see from our good reviews, we will often make concessions on this, as we value our customers dearly. In this instance our staff took objection to your initial threatening email, with cash demands, and they were perhaps not as generous as we would be to other customers. They were also aware of the same threatening email that you sent to Screwfix/Spaceslide about the quality of the doors you received from them (which we must have been copied on by accident). We are still happy to replace any damaged product on a non profit basis. Any missing or defect product, we will obviously replace ‘Free of charge’. These are our normal terms and conditions. Please contact us directly to resolve this situation.

Please also note that none of our products are made from Conti board, but we do use the highest quality 18 or 25mm Egger MFC boards from Germany, but even these boards can be damaged if you drop them. If any customers struggle with instructions, we are always here on the phone to help. You do not get that kind of support from a DIY store.
