“Poor delivery service ”

Have recently had a few orders delivered that I ordered Online. Both packages were delivered by Hermes! The first parcel was a coat for my son as he was getting desperate for one with the awful weather we have been having. It arrived on the date stated which I was over the moon with as I needed to take him to the Drs and with it raining he needed this coat! Opened the parcel and omg it stunk! “very poor”

As I was due to be away on the predicted delivery date, I enquired as to what would happen if nobody was home when my parcel was delivered and I was assured that the parcel would be left with a neighbour or local shop etc, or a redelivery note would be put through the door. “4 lost parcels, still awaiting refund”

This is the worst courier company i have had the misfortune of using, 4 parcels gone missing and i am still fighting for refund of postal and for goods lost, they are full of rubbish, i am now in process of taking them to court out of principal rather than anything else. Do not ever use this useless low life company. The phone numbers send you all around england and know one really gives a damn!!!! This company should be avoided at all costs. “Disgraceful company - DO NOT USE !”

I ordered an item from an Ebay Power Seller and unfortunately My Hermes were delivering it. One of their drivers threw my parcel over a 6 foot fence landing on hard concrete ! What was in the parcel ? Light bulbs !! Which evidently is on their restricted list ???? So their drivers can get away with not knocking (I was in !) walking past my bins (where they could have put it) walking into my neighbours garden, past their house to try to get to mine and when failed threw it over a tall fence… Read Full Review

Three days before delivery I gave precise instruction as to where to leave the parcel if not at home. Nevertheless I stayed in all day in order to receive it. “Insurance does NOT pay out”

Please be careful using this service on line. You are asked what you are sending and then have the option of taking out extra insurance than the 'free' £25. I paid for £200 on my item. My item was then collected, went to depot and out to the recipients courier never to be seen again. It did not even get as far as attempted delivery so as far as I am concerned is still with Hermes. I have been amazed having read through several of these reviews to discover that my experience with Hermes appears to be almost universal. For all online orders from several different suppliers who use Hermes there have been endless problems. Always the same thing. When tracking they claim delivery was attempted and no one was in. My parcel was lost by Hermes end of November 2015.I go round in circles with them. They employ office staff that do not under stand plain English,every one is foreign. I am one of those people who believe in working for a living and feel like im being punished for being at work when courier has tried to deliver my parcel, just been told by hermes that because I wasn't in my parcel is getting sent back to sender and then im left to pay another delivery fee. such an unprofessional company. Had an email on monday 10 saying my parcel was out for delivery, nothing received despite waiting in all day, on tuesday 11 i tracked my delivery which showed they tried to delivery at 18:40, dont know where they tried to deliver too but not my house it stated would try again today, waited in all day again guess what - no delivery, why cant companies just be honest and stop wasting everyones time, a day later is neither here or there as long as it is delivered when expected. very poor service… Read Full Review

“Thrown over gate and left in rain”

Ordered a shirt which Hermes decided to throw over my side gate and leave to be rained on all day. Cardboard was soaked through and shirt damaged. Retailer (Charles thyrwitt) was very good and resolved and has marked my account to only be sent by Royal Mail in future, but as for Hermes they use local self employed drivers with cars who care very little for the packages they deliver. They just want to make sure it's 'delivered' so they get their payment. Retailers should stop using this shoddy… Read Full Review

Email from Hermes stating parcel has been delivered and left in my outbuilding, onlyhave garage which is locked. no card posted through door, email gives phone number which is unobtainable, had web chat only to be told though it was Hermes driver they cannot help because item was ordered through Amazon, sent email to Hermes had auto reply saying they will reply in next 24 hrs, This is Amazon prime guaranteed next day delivery, Why would they trust this company with their business. “Another lost parcel ....... no help whatsoever”

Ordered clothing from M&M Direct and needed to send £97 worth back after Christmas. Paid for a returns label off their website and stuck it to the parcel. Took it to their parcelshop on the 28th December, 29th December the tracking showed it was sent to their National Hub. That's as far as it got. “SO MANY FAILED DELIVERIES”

I ordered a product and the seller made the horrific mistake of using this company to deliver. I work full time so I gave my office address for delivery and I had a failed delivery every day for a week. I complained to the company I ordered from and they spoke to Hermes who advised that nobody was at the address when all of these delivery attempts were made. Sent a parcel to a relative in time for Christmas. Parcel was securely wrapped, forms filled in as required, and it was picked up beginning of December, so in good time. Three weeks later I received a message from Hermes asking for more forms to be filled in. Did that, thought I was done - not so. “broken letter box”

Had a package delivered that didn't belong to me and the courier broke my letter box. I complained to customer services and after umpteen emails back and fourth repeating my self over and over again they admitted liability. They offered me £25 but I had to claim it back from the retailer. I kept telling them how do I claim it back when it was not my parcel in the first place. Parcel of perishable goods impossible to track and only through company I bought goods from found out that they had tried 3 times to deliver and and left in a garage. Turned out that the goods were in a damp open shed away from the house that no one uses. Parcel ripped open and just held together by plastic ties. I ordered a gift to be delivered by 25th Dec 15 , it was collected on the 17th from the shop and has not been seen since . Hermes are impossible to contact and not very helpful when you do .
