“Code did not work ”

Written on: 19/12/2014

Your staff were as helpful as possible, unfortunately the codes given did not work. Even after a factory reset. There is not any more I can say. This is a service that succeeds or fails on the codes provided. I now have to supply a video to prove the code did not work, something I am finding difficulty providing. the problem is keeping the device in focus, using one hand for the video and the other to type in the codes… Read Full Review

“BAIT AND SWITCH - Said they could unlock phone but...”

Written on: 07/11/2014 by Huffman86 (1 review written)

Their site said it was possible to unlock the Blackberry Passport. So I paid, entered the IMEI as requested, and only after paying then did it appear and say "Mobile not supported". This is at the best disingenuous. You are better going to a site that asks you to enter IMEI before they take your money… Read Full Review

Bait and switch? Codes not found happen in 1% of cases (which is actually industry standard) and we are always happy to refund per our 100% guarantee:

Please contact us; I think you'll find our team is always happy to help:

If we were bait and switch, we wouldn't have unlocked over 85,000 phones to date, and nor would we have thousands of independent reviews, and our payment gateways would have banned us long ago. We have been around since 2009 - we are in no way a scam.

“Code worked but took too long and communication was poor”

Written on: 29/07/2014 by mattsc (1 review written)

The site estimated instant delivery of the unlock code, which is why I chose the site. I wanted my daughter to use the phone with a new PAYG SIM while she was away. Sadly the code took well over 48 hours to arrive, and needed chasing twice. I understand if a company has temporary problems, but would expect them to proactively inform customers who are waiting expectantly for their code - this didn't happen. My second chase email led to a response and finally the code, but there was no apology in… Read Full Review

“Check fine print”

Written on: 28/07/2014 by Anniesue01 (1 review written)

I went to the website, typed in all of the information they asked for, including the specific IMEI for my phone, which is an HTC Inspire 4G issued by Verizon. So far so good. Then they ask for the $10 payment, which I made, and they sent me the unlock code. What they don't tell you UP FRONT is that you must know ahead of time if the unlock code will work for your phone. It doesn't work for Verizon-issued phones. After several email exchanges with their support people I was informed that I… Read Full Review

“said they could unlock Huawei E586 mifi before I paid”

Written on: 28/06/2014

Freeunlocks said they could unlock my device so i paid my $9.99 and got a reply within 24 hours. the reply said they couldn't generate a code for my PHONE! if they think its a phone I'm not surprised. I have twice requested a refund, no reply after 2 days. the very name Freeunlocks is misleading as in most cases they ask for payment. sorry but I cannot recommend Freeunlocks, in fact my advice would be to go elsewhere… Read Full Review

“DOES NOT WORK!”

Written on: 30/03/2014 by FDHDOM (1 review written)

I went to the unlock FAQ as told. Since the list DID NOT include the Storm 2 9550, I tried the process for the 9530 which took me through the enter mepd part, I then entered mep2 and nothing happened. I then tried the "All Blackberry" process and could find no "Settings Menu". I REALLY would like to be able to use my phone. Could you PLEASE JUST SEND ME THE MEP CODE?… Read Full Review

“halfway unlocked my phone. Not satisfied.”

Written on: 12/03/2014 by Christopher76134 (1 review written)

I have an AT&T, HTC one X phone, and want to use it with T-mobile. I paid $10 and got my unlock code in three minutes. (quick service!) The code unlocked the phone calls only. (poor quality product.) Data, enternet functions still do not work. (very unhappy!) Took phone to my provider who worked on it and said it was only partially unlocked. Took it to a phone repair place and they worked with it for an hour and they said the same. took it to another location that services my provider and they… Read Full Review

Written on: 13/03/2014

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble. But there is no such thing as 'partially unlocked'. We use the same remote unlocking codes as your providers have, and they completely unlock the device. In fact there's no way to 'partially lock' a device either.

I would suggest calling your new provider (T-Mobile) and requesting that they activate data and provide you with their APN data -- the latter is very important.

If you went to another site, they would likely give the same code and you would not be able to enter the code as your phone will not request a code any longer -- because it is already unlocked ;)

I hope that clears things up.

Kind regards,
Adam

“Unlock Phone Error”

Written on: 08/03/2014 by terrylh57 (1 review written)

People who have a Tracfone on the Safelink Network should NOT even attempt to purchase an unlock code for a non-Tracfone transfer. I was misinformed and was told that the Safelink Network will not work only after I had purchased the code. Initial codes are sent within 24-48 hours. After waiting over 48 hours, I had to call to inquire why my codes were delinquent. The person then sent the codes. The codes DID unlock the phone as advertised, but I would have never purchased them had the person… Read Full Review

“Promised 15 hours, took 4 days”

Written on: 08/01/2014

At 15 hours said they couldnt unlock it. I confirmed the IMEI number and told them a competitor did it with the same model with no problem. 12 hours later said they would do it manually (they should have done this at the start and without waiting to contact me) if I wanted them to. I said of course I wanted to why did we need to have another 20 hour round trip conversation. Then they came back 12 hours later and said they were resubmitting it and I would have it in 12-24 hours. I received… Read Full Review

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear about that experience. It seems the code could not initially be located and therefore needed a backup tool. The support wanted confirmation before manually processing it just in case you would have preferred a refund instead of waiting longer.

If you'd like to post your order number here I will look into the thread further and ensure that if anything could have been improved in our correspondence that it is brought up with the support team.

“Non working code”

Written on: 02/01/2014 by bnield0 (1 review written)

This company must have known that my HTC phone on a Telstra deal was never locked. I found that out when I asked Telstra to unlock it. All my emails appear to be unread and therefore the process for my request for a refund now demanding a short movie placed on you tube with a special title. I am 79 and really have no idea of how to do this. What a company, no real assistance to the customer. And at the last all the small print comes out to tell you that there are hurdles you simply cannot… Read Full Review

“Not bad for a non tech s-a-v-v-y.”

Written on: 01/12/2013 by Del888 (1 review written)

Bought a cheap replacement phone for just $50 and I can't afford to spend more than $ 10 to have it unlock. The steps were not that complicated, if your an amateur like me, you can unlock your phone on your own through these unlock sites with their friendly steps. My only advise, try shopping around for the most affordable price first before deciding where to avail the unlocking, because I regret unlocking my phone from this site freeunlock.com/trialpay.com because they are quite expensive. We do have amongst the most competitive prices in the industry. It also pays for truly first class support. We have 8 dedicated support agents waiting to assist by email... that's something that most other sites cannot provide.

That said, we are always aiming to be amongst the lowest prices in the industry, and the TrialPay method actually gives you the code for free in exchange for the offer.

“Poor communication skills.”

Written on: 07/08/2013 by Rumman15 (1 review written)

Entered my details, and my money was quickly transferred to FreeUnlocks. The codes I received arrived promptly (within 1 hour) and I was happy.. Until it became apparent that none of the codes (I was sent around 10) delivered worked on my Blackberry 8520, so I only had/have 1 MEP code attempt left. This was fine, because in their email at the bottom it stated that they could send another code, free of charge, which was almost certain to work. I emailed the company my phone details asking for… Read Full Review

Hi there,

You are right, we do respond quickly, because if we haven't received your email this is the first time the matter has been brought to our attention. And that makes me personally feel like we could have done better.

I'm not sure why you didn't receive a response other than your message may have gone to our spam. However, as of 24 hours ago, we have solved the issue with our ticketing system! :)

Please reach out to us to ensure that you can reach us.

I'm sure we can help. MEP codes are the most accurate way of unlocking. Albeit a bit more complicated, we'll help you through the process or issue a refund if there are any unresolvable issues.

Kindest regards,
Adam

Terribly sorry.

None of the emails your company sent were delivered until yesterday, so I thought you were ignoring them.
I've now replied with more details, and will change this review to 4/5*'s as soon as my phone is unlocked.

Thank-you.
