    The exchange rate that was applied to my transfer (Eur->Gbp) was extortionate!

    Barclays Online Money Transfer is a long awaited service which is now there. I am sure they shall continue to improve upon it and launch more services like this one. Excellent FX rates. One day transfers. Email Updated. Only drawback is maximum of £3,000 limit.

    I have compared a lot of service providers, who are online, and found Barclays online money transfer to be the most efficient, cheap and value for money.

    What I did was basically, send money via two operators on the same day and same time. What I got was Barclays Online Transfers credited the Indian account in a single day!! (and the difference was of INR3000) vs. 4 days with the other operator and with a significant loss in the destination amount.

    I have used this Barclays Funds Transfer service several times and i have never had any problems, 4 days after money left my account it can be withdrawn abroad.The £28 commission is expensive if only small amount are sent but you do get a higher exchange rate than the tourist rate.
