If you desire a a car with similar construction to that of a spam tin, are a dab hand at rebuilding blown engines and a good sparky to boot, then this fine example of how not to make a fast car is for you!! For something more unassuming and able to chase Cossies try the Astra 16v.Fiat "Uno" because you'll only want to drive it once!!!

Astra 16v.... Unassuming?? ... Cossie chaser?! You are a plonker. I now own an Uno Turbo, after owning a Cav GSi (1/4 mile - 16.093s) for two years and you obviously ain't got a clue. True, reliability can be an issue, but you don't buy a blown 1.4 litre engine for comfort and peace-of-mind, do you? The whole point of these little cars is that you can make them accelerate unfeasibly quickly... small turbo, spins up quickly, bye bye Astra! ('till 100mph then bye bye UT). And besides, the Uno T came with Bosch Jetronic fuel management and intercooler (unlike the equally smart but costly R5 GT) so if you want to drive like a granny, you can. All in all, these cars get, and deserve major respect...Cos they're fun and fast.

hello pedro! i used to have a cavalier gsi, actually iv had 5. dont get me wrong the c20ex engine is a legend and are fast. but when faced against an uno turbo, it wouldnt stand a chance. I also used to own an uno turbo, the speed is unbelieveable, they are so quick! stick to driving your astra like a grandad. and also your astra would not chase a cossie in the real world, only in your dreams. an uno would to 100mph

Uno in your oppinion are crud because they don't know how to modify them! They crank up the boost without getting the air pressure up! So that's where you get your problems!
I had one of the quickest in england and I never rebuilt it 0-62 in 5.65sec top speed 147mph

ok m8 an astra??? whey hey!!
these cars can move and with the added pleasure of a dump valve it makes it more enjoyable than your grandad astra! Maybe your right about the engineering reliablity but isn't that part of the fun messin about with your car and improving it! stick to your astra then son but soon you will be shatted on by a whistling fait....
