Absolutely appalling customer service! Rude beyond belief over the phone. Shouting over the top of me speaking, no manager to speak to for FIVE days now..all busy or on other calls! Never missed a payment but still spoken to in an extremely unprofessional and volatile manner. Will NEVER deal with this company again! Would rather stick pins in my eyes than deal with them again. I've been with moneybarn since March 2014. I would never be accepted for a car due to my credit rating droping since my divorce. Altho I think the payments are high;I pay £330 a month on a car I picked that was only 4 months old. In September 2014 I had to reduce one month's payment as I was off work sick and we don't get good sick pay just ssp. “Appalling service ”

I went to a local car dealer and found the car I liked,they said I can apply for finance but as I have a low credit score they went to moneybarn. I was told instantly that I had been accepted and to give them the last 2 months payslips which I gave them. They then told the dealer the money was ready to be transfered to them so I was then given all the paperwork to sign even the vehicle logbook which my dealer had sent off. “Appalling company”

I am currently a customer with 100% payment on time record. I had a direct debit issue and I tried o pay by card before the date of the DD. And the fuss this caused by the company was unbelievable wanting to charge me extra and default me. They have a disgusting culture. “Good until you have a problem ”

I have been a customer for nearly 3 years with moneybarn. Made all payments on time. I was unaware 1 payment did not go through but every payment after that cleared no problem. The issue is they do not work with customers and the REAL walks of life when coming to resolve the arrears. Hold on.!!!!!. You missed a payment. The idea of finance is that you pay monthly not miss 1 when you feel like it. Real walks of life means pay your bills.

I was accepted over a year with Moneybarn . As many reviews state they are a good company to deal with until you have a problem . I was able to pay my monthly overpriced payments until I have involved in a bad car crash over a year ago and had to give up my job . “I'm right on the fence”

At first I thought they were fine. They accepted me when no one else would look at me because of my ex partners debt. I got a new car as mine was only fit for a scrapyard and payments were reasonable. However that's as far as the praise goes. 6month into my loan had my son 6 weeks early and as a result I rang and asked if I could miss one payment and pay it when money was sorted. “worst finance company ive ever known”

I took out car finance with them about 4 yrs ago. If u make your payments on time then great but once u miss even one they start playing games. First they take u to court even though your asking for more time to pay. Agreement set up via the court, out of about 25 payments, 24 of which all made on time, i missed one, you speak to them to sort this out, n they arent interested. Wud rather pass to recovery agent and then you pay without the need of this and they still charge u recovery costs… Read Full Review

I have had exactly the same situation as yourself. Read your review and had to look twice to see if id actually wrote it.

I too had suspended goods order set up and ive paid it each month. I had a stressfull month and forgot to pay 1 in sept last year. They rang me June10th to highlight this and in 15th passed my details to recovery agent. I was asked to fill in earnings sheet but had no means to print it off plus it wasnt necessary to request this as id paid all others proving i cud afford to pay them, just cudnt afford to pay 2 months at the same time. I then had an airlines claim settled and so at the end of june paid the arrears plus the normal amount due.

2 weeks letter a £300 letter charge arrived for agent fees. I spoke to these ppl to say i was discussing making payment to moneybarn so no need for their involvement. I rang Moneybarn n staff told me to ignore the letter as it had crossed with me making payment. Moneybarn told me agent had been to my house twice n spoken to me in person. I know this to be a lie as 1 of the dates advised i was on holiday in spain. The agent cant provide proof of the work they have done norm fo they advise in advance what charges are.

I made a complaint to moneybarn about this and all i got was a letter with what seemed to be a log of notes added on their computer system. Half the points i raised were not responded to. Ive escalated my query to FLA as i have just 2 installments left to pay abd agreement is finished. They told me that if i fail to pay the £300 charges then they will not remove the HP marker from the vehicle. I think this is what u call blackmail. Rather than honour what staff have advised or realise if they are more anicable to deal with people do actually pay.

“Unreasonable Company Avoid at All Cost ”

I used Moneybarn to finance my car. Tried to negotiate with them to change my Direct Debit payments to Standing Order as I was having financial probelms. Moneybarn would receive the same amount of payment every four weeks by Standing Order instead. I set up the Standing Order but they would not agree to this. “Needs improving massively ”

I took out car finance with money barn although it was a very quick service to get the car I wanted they were very slow in how they deal with problems. I made my first payment and unfortunately wrote the car off my insurance company paid out but there was a shortfall of just over a thousand pounds which I said I would be happy to pay being a working father. They allowed me to pay extra off my agreement at any time which reduces the interest. Sounds oh so familiar except mine paid up to date with 5 payments left and trying to bill me for recovery cost. Disputed them and told if dont pay they wont release me from the agreement, agreement over when balance paid in full!

Moneybarn is very different from other companies I've used for finance. It is much more personal and friendly. I used them in the past to purchase a BMW 3 series. The whole process was painless and I was driving off with my new car a few days later. This was very surprising as I didn't have the best credit score.
