“Clueless and Vague”

I spoke to a man from Churchill around lunchtime today, even though he had an English accent he seemed to have a hard grasp of the actual language, Even getting information from him was a complete waste of time. I don't often hang up on people but he must be loosing the Company a lot of business. I even thought at one point I had rand the wrong number! “renewal robbery”

“4 years later still not settled claim”

Despite myself providing Churchill with CCTV evidence 4 years on still have not settled a claim made against me that I have proved was not our fault, I had well over 10 years no-claims bonus that was knocked down to 3 and I have paid increased premium all because the have got their finger stuck. also they wrote to me about of my perfectly good car that is still on the road today which cost me just £160 to get fixed, I did not even bother making a claim. “Complete Rip Off”

May be cheaper to initially buy than most others for their policies, however, I'm so glad I never had to make a claim with them as I doubt they would pay up. “Never go with CHURCHCHILL”

Insured car with Churchill, my son had a accident and when we put the claim in they said his insurance was void due to a piece of plastic that was added in the factory when the car was new. They then agreed to pay 3rd party only, but now 7 months on they still haven't Paid, we are now having threatening letters of court action from the 3rd party. “Shocking service”

I switched my home insurance to Churchill last year and it has turned out to be a massive mistake. After 6 weeks, 6 emails, and a hour on the phone without anyone even answering it I am here sitting with absolutely nothing done for me to make a claim. I will never ever insure with this rabble ever again. Please anyone thinking of insuring with this lot save yourself the trouble and avoid them like the plaque. I submitted a claim a couple of weeks ago and have heard nothing from the builders. I tried calling them today and waited for over 30 minutes and no one answered and again later on the day for a further 30 minutes and again noone picked up. I'm just fortunate that my ceiling wasn't caving in!!!! I tried complaining using their email link on their website and it bounced back stating that this address doesn't exist - not happy with this service at all.

“Beware of customer service!”

Extremely rude and very unhelpful. If anything they will do all they can to make life difficult should you unfortunately need their help. Would not recommend having anything further to do with them. “never again shop around”

just over a year ago had an accident,it was taken for repair,one year on i had a problem with a wobble because it is only used weekends didnt get a chance to get it inspected,when i did it was found to have a buckled wheel in two places.i had actually thought it was strange they didnt replace at the time and told them so.eventually they agreed and offered to replace but then it was found the suspension leg was also ndamaged and so it went on.two months on after numerous problems due to them not… Read Full Review

I was involved in a minor accident which I admitted was my fault. I contacted Churchill to get the vehicle repaired they took my details etc and said I should receive a call from the rent a car company. Its been over 1 month I havnt recieved any calls from any of them. I always contact churchill every few days and they do nothing about it. The customer service is terrible. After being involved in a 3 car shunt in France in August 2012 we are still waiting for the claim to be settled - we also want our excess (£375) repaid and the additional cost of premiums as you are treated as if it is your fault until they prove otherwise so your no claims goes down. “Need to update to the 21st century”

I have work is personal lines insurance myself for 20+yrs, so when I read some reviews about claims what wasn't covered etc, I do actually know that sometimes it would have been the case with all insurers, unfortunately not everybody understands what is and isn't covered by their insurance. This is a totally different matter, having done a change of vehicle I asked Churchill if they could send me the new certificate by email so that I could get my new car tax. “Who is at fault?”

I left Churchill because I had an accident not caused by me but was deemed my fault. A vehicle had deposited diesel on the road by a busy roundabout. I was stopped and had a car in front of me. The car moved off into the roundabout only for him to see a car rounding a blind spot, so he braked. I was also moving and braked, but the car slid on the diesel and ran into the back of the other car. I did online chat with an adviser about changing my policy over and he advised me to take out a new policy, then cancel the existing policy and get refunded the six and a half months that was left on the original policy. My dad cancelled my brother's car insurance and he rec'd a letter wanting £48 cancellation charge. He's been with Churchill for years and also has his and my mums car insurance through them and his building and contents insurance with them and they wouldn't waive this charge and now sending him legal letters (c'mon its £48.00!). “Churchill are fine do not use their legal protection firm”

Cogent Law were put on our claim to represent us following a car accident. Avoid this company like the plague get your own solicitor. They have taken over a year and are still no further forward. The only people to get what they are entitled to are Cogent Law's staff who by the way will charge your insurance company £275 per hour for their services. Have also had this legal firm deal with a claim. Their fees were ludicrous.
They did post the hourly charge up front but you have no control over their billable hours. The hourly rate beggars belief and that is for a Legal Executive's time.
My wife and I received £3000 between us for minor injuries. Their charges were over £10,000

Are the Law Society aware of this. The only people getting anything worthwhile from a claim are Cogent and their associates. Totally outrageous that they receive more than the claimant. No wonder premiums are so high firms like this should be shut down.

last year i was paying 300 pound for Churchill car insurance this year had my renewal notice and its gone up 200 pound to 500.00 how car my premiums go up shouldn't they go down..?? phoned them up some women answered who had a attitude and i get more sense out of a brick wall anyway Churchill wouldn't drop my premium back down to 300 so i said fine cancel then all of a sudden she went ohh!! i'll put you through to another person then i talked to another women who then said yes we can change… Read Full Review

Just had same thing - my renewal went from 300 to 530!!! But when I phoned to complain was told tough luck! I pointed out that I had an online quote from Churchill in front of me for 300 but the attitude was well cancel & renew online so told them to stuff it really appalling customer service for someone who had been with them for over 10 years :-(

I paid for 1 year house insurance. At the end I always look for a cheaper deal. Churchill sent me a renewal proposal, which I ignored because they were dearer than the rest. Then I found they had renewed my cover without my asking. I had to phone them, at my expense, to cancel the policy. They wanted £24.50 to close the policy, even though I hadn't asked for it. was transferring from aviva to churchill because of price.got details of no claims from aviva which was 7 years.got letter back from churchill saying I only had 2 years.Got back onto aviva who sent me another letter spelling out that i had 7 years(in very simple language).sent this off to churchill with a covering letter and got aletter back 2 weeks later saying that as they hadnt heard from me they were cancelling my insurance.Got no help whatsoever from churchill customer services.they were… Read Full Review

What you have just stated is exactly what happened to me. I sent them a letter telling them what I thought of there outfit, only to have my credit card used fraudulently. The card I used, hadn`t been used for over a year. And used it to pay for my car insurance policy. There was eleven Transaction done on my card amounting to £600. Beware!!
