“Would not touch with a barge pole”

My son had a slight altecation with a "courier driver" as both parties were moving having phoned to report the accident he was told that it was 50/50 as nobody could be held fully liable a month goes by and my son get his renewal through wanting three times as much as last year when called to ask why , we find out the third party has claimed on his insurance and his insurance company has sent the bill to my sons insurance to claim 50% we are told " we can accept responsibilty on your sons… Read Full Review

“Useless customer service”

This company will quite happily take your money but when it comes to making a claim will use every excuse not to pay out. When I received my renewal they had taken 5 years off my no claims bonus for a claim that didn't go ahead. I wouldn't reccommend this company to my worst enemy… Read Full Review

“monsters ...”

do not give bank details ? these monsters take money from ure account without you knowing ? 450 pound annual 1 year .. 2 weeks later 200 pound direct debit for what ? ? ? rung police ombudsman rung bank etc stop direct debit .. denying i even had a policy with them .. letters to prove otherwise insurance policy date times etc .. solicitor involved be aware of CHURCHILL… Read Full Review

“getting a refund of my late fathers car insurance”

My father died in February and this issue is still not resolved. First they told me that the money had been paid back to the card it was issued on. I checked his bank accounts and it had not been paid back and his barclay card account had been closed down. “Admin fee rip off”

Just moved house to half a mile down the road from previous address thats the good news. Bad news is ust been ripped off by churchill insurance at a staggering cost of £39 for changing address !!!!! I moved house in May 2014 and they didn't charge me any admin fees, I would check with them again about this.

“Car Accident report 9 months ago - still waiting!”

I reported an accident in December 2013 after a foreign lorry driving with rear doors swinging open had hit my car. It was dark and raining and there was no way I could see unfastened doors swinging towards me as I slowly overtook the lorry that was parked by the road. Some 9 months on and with my insurance due for renewal, my premium has nearly tripled and my no-claims bonus has been cut. Were Churchill sympathetic? Not on your life. I had the misfortune to be in an accident a month ago - no fault due to other car running into the back of me when I was stationary. Initially got what seemed a positive response but it went downhill from there. Despite me informing three different people my new home address correspondence continues to be sent to my old address - sometimes in triplicate and often contradicts a previous letter! “Way too expensive”

I would happily have renewed my car insurance with Churchill if they hadn't wanted so much money from me. After a year with Churchill they wanted £1500, more than the previous year! Direct Line offered a better policy for just over £600, and this to include an inexperienced driver too. Perhaps the extortionate fees are to pay for their awful adverts?… Read Full Review

“£53 cancn fee”

Churchill are fine until you want to cancel your policy. They charge a massive £53 cancn fee and your rebate isnt worked out pro rata for the unused insurance. So read all the little print and dont think if youve been with them for 6/7 years it will make a difference as loyalty means nothing to them. Would never use them again… Read Full Review

“Nightmare”

Never been in an accident before this one. Parked and went shopping in February 2014. Came back and found a note on windscreen by a witness who saw/took photos on mobile of a lorry doing a 3 point turn and then plough into the side of my car and then drive off. Went home rang witness, police and Churchills. Car was taken next day for repair and curtesy car arrived. Got car back after a week and that's when the fun started. I cancelled my insurance, but later received a letter from them saying I owed a months money as my D Debit had been stopped. I rang and sent a letter stating I'd cancelled the insurance and couldn't owe money for insurance as it was cancelled. They said they had no record of me cancelling and their system couldn't be wrong. “Discrimantory pricing policy”

Was renewing my policy with Churchill when noticed that my occupation (listed on back page in small print) was Musician Backer. I phoned to query and whether they needed my actual occupation, they said yes and updated to Medical Doctor and informed that my premium would increase by an additional 2.5%. When questioned, informed that their database would indicate that doctors are higher risks than Musicians. “bad!”

I'm not insured with this company but I was unfortunate enough to be hit from behind by someone who is insured with them on the 20th of july, as of the 13th of august the car has still not been repaired it is still sat on my drive. After badgering them they told me that they had talked to their repairers and the car would be taken away for repairs only to be told on the day of collection that the parts had not arrived and that they don't know when they would be in. For trouble free insurance - DO NOT insure your car with Churchill. They're fine until you need to make a claim and then your frustrations start. I put in a claim three weeks ago and they say they still have not received my accident claim form and "No, I do not need to send them another copy as claims can take up to 90 days to get processed". I recently purchased a new car. Before buying the new car I went on a price comparison site to find that my insurance with churchill will be £16.00 more than my old one. To my dismay I was told by the customer service adviser that it would be £65.00 more to insure the new car for the remainder of the policy plus £15.00 admin fee. “Do not purchase insurance with this company”

I have been with Churchill for a number of years. No problems but as I have now discovered this is because all I have required to do so far is pay my annual premium when it became due. Now that I require to cancel my policy they are unobtainable!! I have called for over a week now, continually put on hold unless I go through to the new quotes line which was answered within a minute. A few weeks ago we had a car accident which was not our fault and churchill arranged a courtesy car for us. They first told us we could use lookup to find a equivalent car. But we didn't hear them for about two weeks time and then they just got back to us saying that the valuation is finished we have to return the courtesy car the next day!!!!!
