“Discrimantory pricing policy”

Was renewing my policy with Churchill when noticed that my occupation (listed on back page in small print) was Musician Backer. I phoned to query and whether they needed my actual occupation, they said yes and updated to Medical Doctor and informed that my premium would increase by an additional 2.5%. When questioned, informed that their database would indicate that doctors are higher risks than Musicians. “bad!”

I'm not insured with this company but I was unfortunate enough to be hit from behind by someone who is insured with them on the 20th of july, as of the 13th of august the car has still not been repaired it is still sat on my drive. After badgering them they told me that they had talked to their repairers and the car would be taken away for repairs only to be told on the day of collection that the parts had not arrived and that they don't know when they would be in. “Awful insurance company”

For trouble free insurance - DO NOT insure your car with Churchill. They're fine until you need to make a claim and then your frustrations start. I put in a claim three weeks ago and they say they still have not received my accident claim form and "No, I do not need to send them another copy as claims can take up to 90 days to get processed". I recently purchased a new car. Before buying the new car I went on a price comparison site to find that my insurance with churchill will be £16.00 more than my old one. To my dismay I was told by the customer service adviser that it would be £65.00 more to insure the new car for the remainder of the policy plus £15.00 admin fee. “Do not purchase insurance with this company”

I have been with Churchill for a number of years. No problems but as I have now discovered this is because all I have required to do so far is pay my annual premium when it became due. Now that I require to cancel my policy they are unobtainable!! I have called for over a week now, continually put on hold unless I go through to the new quotes line which was answered within a minute. “disgusting service ”

A few weeks ago we had a car accident which was not our fault and churchill arranged a courtesy car for us. They first told us we could use lookup to find a equivalent car. But we didn't hear them for about two weeks time and then they just got back to us saying that the valuation is finished we have to return the courtesy car the next day!!!!! Terrible customer service in the event of a claim. Be prepared for lonnnnggg waits on the phone (which you are paying for unless you Google the 0800 alternative), and then incoherent and unhelpful staff when you eventually get through. “Don't Insure Your Car with Churchill”

I had a car accident just before Christmas 2013. I immediately reported it to Churchill Car Insurance and was assured that I would be informed of the progress every step of the way. After returning my Claim Form on 13th January 2014, I heard nothing from Churchill, and it took virtually five months for my claim to be finalised. We have been a customer with Churchill Car insurance for some time and have never been in a position to require their services until approximately a month ago. Our Mitsubishi FTO was parked as always outside our house when on a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon an elderly driver fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and without breaking ploughed straight into the side of it. “Total frustration”

My experience mirrors what everyone else has commented previously! We suffered a RTA on 18/04/014. Phoned Churchill claims straight away. Brilliant service, got car in for repairs at approved centre and promised legal claims people would be in touch soon to progress injury claims. From here on TOTAL FRUSTRATION as no legal claims contacts. Have phoned several times, sent emails and letters to the Claims Dept. All remain UNACKNOWLEDGED hence the frustration. I have been driving for number and have 10 years no claim bonus. After accepting my policy and taking my payment a week later I received a letter asking me to ring them for clarification. I rang them on the 0845 Number provided they kept me waiting for around 30min. When someone finally picked the questions they asked were all answerable from my application form eg who paid for it and asking how many days I and my Co driver would be driving the car. £150 to cancel insurance 3 months before expired. The insurance started of 6 years ago at around £30 a month. Now even though I was building up a no claims bonus, the car was getting older and worth a lot less, and reaching my 30s the premium was going up by £5-10 each year. Now its nearly £60. I spoke to a man from Churchill around lunchtime today, even though he had an English accent he seemed to have a hard grasp of the actual language, Even getting information from him was a complete waste of time.
