“claims line too busy to deal with me”

My parked car was driven into by a third party insured by churchill. To save paying my excess i went direct to churchill, I phoned them twice and after queing the phone was answered and I was told claim line is shut between 12-1, I called back at 4.40 again after queueing the phone was answered and I was told to call back tommorrow they were too busy to take my claim details… Read Full Review

“Never again with Churchill!!!”

Paying a huge amount of isnurance. Had an accident in May 2014 with a foreign vehicle not our fault. Churchill never phoned us despite promising this on ever occasion I phoned them. Made a forma complain after a year of waiting then they started to apologise and forwarded our case to a legal company. Now they are telling us they can not reach the other party - congratulations Churchill! What did you think after more than a year chasing down a truck driver from Latvia??? Omg the same had happened to me, Had an accident in sept foreign driver an they can't find him?? Put me in contact with a legal team an they can't find him but the clsim Is on going still an now Churchill have canceled my policy because I missed a payment do dnt have a clue where my chain stands now I'm so annoyed x

“Expect a fight for refund”

My windscreen broke. The company used by Churchill could not offer me a repair slot before 9 days making my car open to anyone and not being able to drive. The other solution was to arrange it with another company and submit the invoice to Churchill for a refund. On both calls with Churchill, I was told I would be refunded within 4 days. many weeks later, I still have not seen a refund nor did I receive any answer to my email. “Worst insurance company I have ever used”

Been using motor insurance since 1961. Never in this time have I had such problems. Switched this year and they requested ncb proof, sent them my renewal invitation from my previous insurer offering me 70% discount but they refused to accept it.Took three months for them to accept communications I sent to them from my old company. “Rip off Churchill ”

My father has just got a quote from Churchill they have quoted him £579 full comp he's been driving for 50 years and has a full clean licence and never had a claim he drives 2000 mileage a year they told him they can't get the price down that was it so many older people would had paid this and would be getting rip off I've got it for him from a top insurance company for the sum of £243 with brake down cover and every thing you could wish for in car insurance that is a saving of £336 so… Read Full Review

“Fixing my car”

My car was damaged by a Churchill driver. Churchill arranged for my car to be picked up from my flat and returned once it was fixed. They also arranged a courtesy car for me with no hassle. “Ribiculous admin fee”

In November 2014 my car was hit on Asda car park, the damage was witnessed by a security guard & photos taken by me. The car that hit me was a wing mirror away, l could not get in the drivers side and when the owner of the car that hit me came back she said she was in rush to get to the dentist & thought she had nudged something. “Very poor customer service”

Car was damaged due to act of vandalism but still had to be the excess. The garage instructed by them overcharged and added other essential repairs. Given that a wing mirror was the main damage shocking that they managed to accumulate a bill of over £700!!! When I complained I was told if I didn't pay the excess then I wouldn't get my car back! “£25 admin fee just to change address”

I've recently moved house and Churchill have charged me a £25 admin fee for doing so. The call centre agent referred me the the terms and conditions which states an admin fee "may" be applicable but fails to mention how much and what would constitute an admin fee. “Helpful, trustworthy, reliable”

The drivers side of my car was hit into whilst parked. The driver admitted full responsibility. I made this clear to Churchill and I was put through to their Direct Line Group repair centre and sent the details for my courtesy car. “Not interested in pursuing claim - even when not your...”

Whilst my car was waiting at some traffic lights a large van reversed up the street behind me (so was on the wrong side of the road)and collided with the back of my car, causing damage. The driver got out and three times admitted that he "...just hadn't seen I was there". I called on Saturday to change my policy as I was going to view a car after the call centre had closed. I was concerned with what would happen if I didn't buy the car so questioned this and was told I can call back Monday (closed Easter Sunday) to change it back. I've been with Churchill for over 9 years. I never had a claim or anything in that time. Time came to cancel and I was told I would have to pay £53 cancelation fee, I was happy to pay it. Got a bill at home for £87, phoned them up the person on the phone was not sure what was going on and I was told I will get a itemized bill through the post.
