Stay away from this hopeless company!!!

Was crashed into by a lady who accepted full responsibility for the accident and informed Churchill - thought this would be a very simple claim as she had admitted liability! How wrong I was! After about 20 calls from both myself and my girlfriend Churchill finally sent an engineer to look at my car. I had been fobbed off on all previous occasions and finally thought that this would be dealt with.

It then took 4 weeks to receive payment as the car could not be fixed.
Whilst I was waiting for Churchill to fix/payout for my car I did not get a courtesy car even though I was paying for this in my premium. I questioned this and was told I had to wait for my car to be inspected. I have never heard anything so ridiculous!

I have been with Churchill four years and decided to renew as the claim had eventually been settled and it was a lot easier than switching over.
On 31st Oct I changed my car and reported this to Churchill - they stated I was in credit and my new documents would be sent and next payment taken on 1st Dec.

However...today I received 4 different letters, 3 ammended schedules and a letter to say that a payment was overdue - I pay by direct debit!!!!
I called (again) to query this and was told that the person who set up my new policy had not looked at the screen properley and that this money is overdue! The woman I spoke was not particularly helpful and was trying to tell me I was misreading the schedule that I had right in front of me!
In the end I cancelled the policy (luckily still within the 14day period) and have set up a new policy with the post office (Unfortunately I have just been reading the reviews about the Post Office and I'm concerned that their customer service or lack of will raise my stress levels as Churchill have done so well over the last few years!
Basically avoid Churchill if you do not wish to have a heart attack!

I was hit by a young driver coming round a corner and misjudged as going too fast and smashed into the wing and driver door of my two year old Corsa. I was assured when I logged the claim that they would do everything - wrong. I am still actually waiting for a call back from them and its almost three weeks. The car was not fitting as daylight/rain could get in. I thought I had an automatic car given to me but no only a courtesy car for the length of the repair. I continue to drive the car from t ...

If churchill were to be run by the nodding dog, the level of customer service would make sense- i.e - there is none!
A foreign lorry hit me on the motorway. Although it was not my fault, it certainly feels like it is! I am apparently being punished for being a driver who has never had an accident and is now inconveniently asking them to get off their backsides and do some work!!
Heres why you're better to pay more with another insurer:
    - It took 3 phone calls to simply get them to post a liabili ...

I have been insured with Churchill since June 2009. I had the letter re: my NCD. I had posted it off some weeks before this letter, and one quick phone call to Churchill rectified the matter. They informed that the info and letter had simply crossed over and they updated the notes there and then.

Now the real rest is a claim.....I woke up this morning to find my legally parked car had been crashed into. Luckily there were witnessess and some kind chap had taken down the details of the other dri ...

    Churchill Car Insurance

I purchased insurance online from Churchill, The premium was £801 when I received policy, the wording stated have you disclosed any Modifications to the vehicle ie: to Engine, Body, Wheels Suspension. This question was never asked on their Web Site, I phone them and the factory fitted extras such as, stereo, xenon headlamps, reversing camera etc generated a total premuim of over £1400.00 Aviva and More Than, said that FACTORY fitted optional extras were of no ...

Just wrote my car off in an accident and Churchill have been an absolute nightmare. The car i purchased 6 months ago was a focus limited edition with spoilers and alloys all of which I understood were standard parts due to it being a special edition. Had a call from Churchill to say that the engineer and said that they were not standard parts but modified. I rang ford garage where to car was registered with from new they confirmed that all parts were standard. Then found out that the alloys ...

I damaged my car so I called Churchill Car Insurance to open a claim and take my car to the garage. As it was Saturday they told me that my car will be pick up on Monday (car was stucked on a tree out off the road)so after discussion that I can't leave car there for next 2 days they agreed to send someone in the same day. On Wednesday I called to find out how is is going and garage told me that my car was put on hold because they found that I have different exhaust than standard what I didn't kn ...

The Churchill Car Insurance cheap quotes are a false economy. You will spend so long on the phone and reading threatening letters that it is not worth it. They sent a vicious letter claiming I owed them a small fortune because I had not sent proof of no claims. I called them to remind them that I was insured through them last year. A month later they have notified me that policy is being cancelled. That stupid nodding dog should be put down immediately. I would hat to have to make a claim throug ...

I had an accident in my car over 3 months ago, which the other party involved was to blame as they went into the back of me. The other insurance company accepted liability and the car had been fixed and everyone was happy. Now nearly 4 months on I have had my renewal quote though the post and it has gone up from £384 to £971 and I now have no 'No claims bonus' either. Thinking that this surely was an error I gave Churchill a call and they explained to me that as they had not yet rece ...

Took out car insurance with Churchill car insurance back in march this year. Sent off my NCB from previous insurer 2 weeks later they sent a letter stating they hadn`t received it,phoned and they told me it probably wasn`t processed as yet and, to phone a week later which I did and was told they still hadn`t received it but, that they still had a backlog to be processed. I received a letter later that week telling me they were cancelling my cover, again I phoned still to no avail and told them t ...

Churchill Car Insurance are awful, I just spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to explain that I wanted a quote for a full year on a new car. He would only give me the 3 weeks quote to swap on new car. He couldn't give me an answer, and it took a million goes to explain to him what i wanted. Rude, and spoke over me. And their price was hundreds of pounds more than going with a new company despite the no claims 1 year only being with Churchill. pointless!!

do not use or even bother trying!! ...

Their Customer Service is appalling. Always long waiting times to speak with them on the phone and attitude from staff was very disappointing. Churchill Car Insurance will not correspond at all if you send them an email.

CHEAP. But as they say, you get what you pay for. Have had many threatening letters from them, resulting in a lot of wasted hours on the telephone. Constantly being treat like a liar. Still in a wrangle with them over my no claims (so is partner over her policy). I've sent them a number of documents proving I have no claims, all of which are no good or have been lost at there end. I would love to give that stupid hound a good kicking. If you can get an alternative quote for a few quid more elsew ...

As an ex Company driver be very wary of Churchill - they are very poorly organized, take ages to answer phones (expect a 15-20 minute wait) and don't expect replies to letters - their 'system' churns out threatening unpleasant letters and there seem little you can do. They do not explicitly state what evidence they want from you regarding no claims history, then write saying they want more money - they're a nightmare!

Churchill's "Service" is disgraceful. We bought car insurance with windscreen and international cover. We reported a massive gap in our windscreen immediately. We were told it was a 24 hour international line. It was not. After 3 days of chasing them, we were told they couldn't sort it until we were due to return to Britain. So we lost nearly a week of our 2 week holiday. I was promised to be suitably compensated. They offered me £50 which didn't cover the £75 excess costs. T ...

This is the first time I've used Churchill, I used the compare sites to find a cheap quote and they were not the cheapest but you see them on on the TV so i went with them. Their service is not good, they asked for proof of no claims discount i have 9 years protected i phoned they and asked if my old INS docs with my no claims discount clearly stated on the front would be acceptable they said yes. I destroyed all my other docs and sent them my old insurance they sent me a letter and said it was ...
