General comments: This is the first time I've used Churchill, I used the compare sites to find a cheap quote and they were not the cheapest but you see them on on the TV so i went with them. Their service is not good, they asked for proof of no claims discount i have 9 years protected i phoned they and asked if my old INS docs with my no claims discount clearly stated on the front would be acceptable they said yes. I destroyed all my other docs and sent them my old insurance they sent me a letter and said it was not good enough but did not sent my old docs back so once again i had to ring them and ask them for my docs back two weeks later i got them. I phoned my my old insurance to ask for proof of NCD a day later I got it. I should have stayed with them. If I cancel Churchill now it will probably take months to get my money back so I will have to stay with them and hope.
I don't have to claim next year there is no way I'm using them and I can not so far recommend them in any way.

When I checked my credit card statement I found that Churchill had deducted my premium payment as agreed but also had deducted another payment for somebody elses premium! They claimed it was somebody using my credit card details but it was strange that it occurred at exactly the same time as the geniune payment. Poor and unconvincing response and issue now in hands of credit card fraud department. Beware of leaving your credit card details with this outfit.

A bus hit my car on 9th January 2009. The driver immediately admitted liability both in the presence of his managers and in the presence of the Police.
Two weeks ago the engineers called to say the car would be written off and a settlement cheque would be sent and the courtesy car was immediately taken back.
The cheque has still not arrived despite assurances that it has been sent. The quality of the service I have received can only be described as diabolical.
I lodged a complaint a we ...

We have suffered the unfortunate situation of having 2 accidents within the space of 6 weeks apart & going from 2 cars to 1 for financial reasons.
On the first occasion we were left completely in the dark about what was happening with our vehicle because we had a second car. However, once I started chasing churchill for an update they simply gave me the contact details of the garage it was meant to be at & left me to my own devices. Surprise, surprise I found our my car hadn't even arrived yet ...

I had somebody run into the back of my car in September 2008 and I am still waiting for the car to be repaired in January 2009. Have made numerous calls to "customer services" with absolutely no progress. When "customer service" promise to call me back they don't. When you ask to speak to a supervisor none are available, but one will call me in 24hrs, of course I'm still waiting
The levels of service are so bad that I have now given up talking to Churchill and have referred the matter to the om ...

Hidden admin charge of £50 for cancellation no matter how long you have been a customer for, takes 1 minute on the computer to action and it costs £50 - yeah right! After a bit of an arguement the girl on the phone agreed to remove all admin charges. customer service is a complete joke.
Terrible service, long call waiting time.

Phone to arrange transfer of current Churchill policy to another vehicle. Arranged for transfer to take place in 48 hours time. Asked if new premium quoted included our usual breakdown. Was told no and as the 'new' car was an older car there would be an increase in the breakdown premium also. So I said fine. Put phone down quickly told hubby he said cancel the breakdown as we could get it cheaper which was true as it was expensive combined with car insurance. (We just wanted to keep it all as on ...

I have an impeccable driving record, and so our first quote was good. Once we were in, with no claims or accidents, they hiked and hiked the costs. Then we changed from a group 8 car to a group 1 car (Fiat Panda). Guess what, they said the difference was £30 a year!So we went elsewhere - then they told me after I had cancelled, oh , there's a £50 admin charge. Come on, 5 minutes work on a computer does not cost that. I complained - they wouldn't even discuss it or reply.I would nev ...

Having taken out a motor policy with them, I received a request asking for proof of my no claims bonus. This was sent to them twice and a third time by recorded delivery, yet they still sent me letters threatening to cancel my policy due to non receipt of NCB proof.
There seems to be a huge delay between their post room and the updating of the policy databases and this causes great expenditure in time and effort because of their own inefficiencies.

They have lost recorded deliveries I've sent, make promises to call back but haven't, send letter asking for a response but after many minutes of telephone calls did not find anybody who had knowledge of this letter.
Could not even send a renewal qoute until 3 days after expiry of current policy.

I recently had quite a bad car crash. I was completely 100% not at fault, the police actually witnessed the crash and even they said I am completley not at fault. So I phoned Churchill the day after the crash, explained what happened and they seemed very helpful and said they would get working on it straight away...I found out the day after from the police my car was a write off (unable to be repaired) so I was without a car and needed one to get to work.5 days passed and I didn't hear from them ...

During this last renewal the form said that I had one claim in last three years. Queried this to discover that a claim against me, that I had shown to be false, was still on file as open. Someone had made an error taking a registration number at an accident. When I spoke with the claims department at that time I was told to 'tear up the letter and forget it'. After many long phone calls at my expense their opinion was not to worry because it did not affect my premium. This is not the point as I ...

I would definitely recommend churchill to anyone looking for good car insurance - I was previously with direct line - but Churchill, I found to be easy and very helpful. No problems whatsoever, and they guarantee to beat your renewal quote if you have more than 3 years no claims.

I have been with Churchill car insurance for about 10 years - always looking for other quotes each year. They are not the cheapest but only by a few pounds. I had two claims about 10 years ago in my first year with them. One for vandalism and another for a hit and run on my parked car. That time they were excellent. This time my parked car was hit by someone reversing out of a parking place. They have admitted fault and their company AXA is paying for the claim, but they are punishing me for wa ...

I have used VW accident management service. It might be that this was the reason why everything went so smoothly. Overall I am really happy with the way Churchill dealt with my claim.

My car was involved in an accident on May 23 2008. It was not my fault and the owner of the other vehicle has admitted liability. It took two seperate engineers to write the car off. I have been promised a cheque twice each time coming out by first class post as of 7th July 2008 it has not arrived yet. There must an official complaints procedure I can go through because this is absolutely disgusting their service is an absolute disgrace.
I will NEVER use Churchill insurance again and I will acti ...

I have had a motor policy with Churchill there have been two claims on the motor policy both of which have been dealt with in the most inept fashion possible to the point i would actually consider setting fire to my car and driving it through the reception of the claims office just out of desperation. They have effectively written off my old banger because someone has damaged the doors, now VOSA want a vehicle test carried out and a full engineers report the cars worth about £300. When I ...
