“LED monitors are relativley new to the PC world when...”

LED monitors are relativley new to the PC world when compared to LCD's, so it's justifiable for me to admit I was a bit shy on making the Samsung BX2450 LED screen my first choice, but since I have had a few people tell me they are quite a surprise, I decided to give one a go. I have to say I am NOT disappointed at all. This thing handles my games (Call of Duty series 1 to 7 etc) with ease and really brings them to life. The colours are huge in richness and once the contrast and brightness is set up correctly, there's no turning back, you are compelled to keep playing all day and all night.

I'm not sure if "plug and play" is a fashionable statement anymore with Windows 7, as operating systems have moved on so much since the term was first coined, but the BX2450 did not plug 'n' play totally from Minute One. It had to be set up, and correctly too. Be aware, that you will have to set this monitor up correctly because it is very setting sensitive at 1920 x 1080 HDMI especially in as far as text goes, and that can make the difference between being livable with and/or being completely eye straining. I had to run the gauntlet and go through a complete setup to get this monitor to where it is now. That involved going into CCC (Catalyst Control Centre) to get fullscreen image as it would not go fullscreen from the first time it was powered on. I also had to adjust the text through the Control Panel as it looked less than ideal in its standard trim, being both blurry and non solid (varying in thikcness and colour), but this will differ from PC to PC. Once through the setup and with fullscreen up and running, what beautiful eye candy this thing gives you. Make sure you adjust the brightness and contrast to suit your eyes also, as I can see a few owners getting eye strain and maybe headaches as a result of staring at this "in your face" brightness. There lots of it, so be warned - it's BRIGHT, very BRIGHT. Having said that, once you find that magic setting, you will not want to turn your PC off as it will give you a whole new world of colour and definition. The one disappointment (if I can call it that) this monitor has, is the adjustment buttons, or touch pads. What a pain they are indeed, being both hard to feel and annoying to scroll with. Once again, after you find that magic setting, you can sit back and enjoy the BX2450 and forget anything that caused you any worry. Just enjoy thr ride.
