This is a waste of money in my opinion because the machine and its attachments are so awkward to use. Angling the grime buster to work in corners or below waist level is so difficult because of the design, and one of the plastic brush attachments wore away after just 10 minutes use. It's fiddly and slow to pour the water in because the opening is so narrow. The steam-release button is so sensitive that you seem to either get loads of water coming out or hardly any at all. Very disappointed... (read more)

Used it to clean the tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, the bath surround and the oven hob and doors. The only marks it removed were the ones you could remove with a cloth and some effort. Thought it might help remove some mold marks around the bath, didn't make any impression. Money wasted, have thrown it away. (read more)

I Bought this last week, noticed a hairline crack in the upholstery tool which when fitted to the concentration nozzle kept falling off, the steam cleaner looks good but is nigh on useless, it has far fewer attachments and bits than some steam cleaners costing half as much, an extension for example would permit use in very tight spaces etc. I contacted Vax they said there were no spares available, so it went back a day later and I bought a cheaper make, which as well as coming with more... Thanks for you honest appraisal of this product. I’m tired of reading bogus reviews! People go to these sites to get genuine feedback from users not trumped up marketing drivel. This product is less than tremendous. It boils water and blows steam out. This can help with some cleaning - it will not restore a well used oven tray to anything resembling mint condition.

This is the most useless product I have ever bought. My iron produces more steam. Save your money and don't purchase this so called steamer. All it does on windows is ur water onto them.

I have borrowed steam cleaners from friends before but was delighted to get one of my own. I would say this is by far the most compact and easy to use steamer I have used. The steamer can be operated using one hand. (Some of them I have used required you to hold the steamer in one hand and a hose connected to it in the other which is very awkward). This allows you a free hand to steady yourself if you are reaching into corners or a free hand to clean with after using the steamer.
It...

The Vax S4 Grime Master is is the first steam cleaner that I have every used as I have previously been deterred by their bulky size.
On its first use, I decided to tackle my oven hob which I had neglected to give a deep clean for some time.
I found the steam cleaner easy to assemble/use, the cleaner quickly heated up and the results were very impressive. The cleaner comes with a variety of attachments including a brush which is great for any stubborn marks and also for cleaning the...

VAX S4 GRIME MASTER
I was really impressed with this handy little steam cleaner. With a useful length cable, it is stable when standing and fitted comfortably in my hand so wielding it round the kitchen and bathroom was a breeze. The 260ml tank capacity gives sufficient steam for 10-15 minutes use and the push and turn screw makes it easy to tell whether it is fastened correctly. The 'ready to use' indicator came on within a couple of minutes of turning it on and I particularly liked the...

This steam cleaner is great, I had always wondered whether they would work so was really pleased when I got given this Vax. The 'jug' cleaner is a great compact size, nice and easy to store with a really good length cord. Once filled and turned on it gets up to steam quickly and the power of its cleaning is great.
So far I have used it in the kitchen to clean around the sink and on the draining board where there was quite a dirt build up and have also used it in the bathroom to clean...

Having had a steam cleaner before I know that they are VERY usefull and I like
being able to clean without chemicals. The cleaner I had was a cylinder pull along, it fell over quite often, got caught in doorways and I fell over it
quite often. I also could not turn off the steam , the whole thing had to be turned off if the doorbell or phone rang.
Now on this Vax S4 Grime Buster the steam has a variable control, it is also controlled by a trigger which can be locked to prevent accidental...

I bought one last week and cleaned my bathroom. I was not very impressed. I used to have Kercher a few years back and it cleaned everything I went for the Vac as it was a known brand and i have had their vacumes in the past. My husband used it today to clean the kitchen floor and ended up doing it with a good old fashioned mop.
I think my next job is a trip back to currys to get my money back
