I bought the laptop just under a year ago, the reason was it was on offer from Argos at a penny under £400. It came with a three year extended guarantee, three years AVG and a free mouse and carrying case and the usual extras. I don't really know how long the batteries last because I use it on the mains all the time along with Pro speakers. The inbuilt speakers aren't all that special.
