I have booked our holidays with co-op travel in Rochdale for the last 10yrs. This year, I needed to know if our Esta was still valid for our trip to Florida--not the most difficult of questions?? How wrong i was, one member of staff told me i would have to alter the details on it, because last year we went to a different state in the US. I booked a last minute holiday to Cyprus in October 2011, i was more than happy with the service i received. I had not been abroad for about 9 Years, so was a bit out of touch. The CO-OP found me a brilliant apartment in a lovely resort. I am definately going back to them again next Year. So well done to Midlands CO-OP Travel in the High Street, Solihull, West Midlands. “call centre is useless”

I've just called co-op travel as I could not make any booking online (I'm travelling with infant). First operator put me on hold after 5 sec of conversation!!! Phone went dead. Another one checked just one offer, according to him it was not available and he didn't even try any alternatives!! I have no chance to find it by myself online as option for travellers with infats is not available. And call centre people can't wait to get rid of your phone!!!! Avoid if possible!!!! (read more)

Although we had a really nice rep in the Liverpool store it has been a mare trying to get certain details sorted and we are due to travel shortly but have still not been given an answer over who from, when and where our tickets are coming from? Co-op have sold the holiday on behalf of Thompson and despite having paid for all the holiday upfront getting a) a straight answer and b) someone to call back with any answer is proving to be an up hill struggle. To be honest I can't be bothered to waste anymore of my time on this company...but I'll just leave a few warnings so what happened to us, doesn't happen to others. + This company lost £1200.00 of my money and tried to make me pay it again. + This company arranged an airport transfer that was 4 1/2 hours late collecting us from the airport (because the company they booked us with couldn't get the driver up apparently, according to the rep). + I asked specifically for a hotel at a... We booked at the Doncaster Co-op to go to Ayia Napa for 1 week. Booking the holiday was fine no problems in taking our money from us but when it came to go on our holiday they turned round to one of my friends and said that she wasn't able to go because her passport was not valid (Even though it was valid for 3 months after we got back) She was gutted but she rang tha actual government flight place and they said she was fine so she just went. We booked a holiday through the co-op online, however we did this in a branch. It was not made clear that this was not a package holiday and actually all different components and no rep on site. So when we arrived and were moved to different accommodation that that which we booked we had no comeback or any assitiance in resolving the problem - not what I want from my 'holiday'! (read more)

I wish there were more Travel Agents as friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their job as the Co-op! Absolutely great service, unlike most travel agents they will check everyone to make sure I got the best deal, which I certainly did. I have used them in their St Neots branch and more recently their new one in Bedford, simply fantastic! Keep it going youre the best! (read more)

I booked a Holiday from the Co Op Travel Agent in Heckmondwike to Turkey I was offered a free boat trip which sounded fab. They then told me I could not have the boat trip because it was 2 hours away and they had made a mess they then offered £10 off my holiday which no way compensates for the boat trip which would have cost much more as it was an all day trip with lunch.

First time using Co-op travel booking a weekend hotel in New York for what appeared to be a fab price. Booked it, paid deposit. E-mail came back, room not available. They offered same room at higher price or refund. Chose the room as wanted to stay there - sorted. Then chose to upgrade to bigger / better room. Had used the Co-operative Travel in Heckmondwike last year to book our holiday, found the agent to be very efficient and helpful. We decided to try them again this year and the same agent remembered our face and again found us the right holiday at the right price. Would strongly recommend to anyone to avoid Co-operative Travel for any transactions whatsoever whether it be travel, travel money, insurance. Would rather give my custom to anyone but the Co-operative Travel on the basis that customer satisfaction and the way they speak to customers is the low of the low Avoid their Liverpool Lord Street branch at all costs. I am so angry with customer services. Due to blatant lie in gloucester branch we and several friends lost deposit on holiday. They lied completely throughtout and to make matters even worse got my name wrong on reply. I will never travel with the coop ever again. Very dishonest company. Avoid like the plaque (read more)

be very careful if booking on line with this lot.on some of their holidays, when you get to the latter stages of booking there are 4 options which may be removed...5kg extra luggage allowance, seat choice,resort transfer.and inflight meal.if you choose to remove the 5kg extra luggage allowance ( the normal 15kg allowance shows up as part of your package at no cost ) you will find that you have no luggage allowance at all when your tickets arrive.this means an additional cost and several... I was charged 3 times for transactions that said they were declined..leaving me with absolutly no money for 4 days with noone accepting responsibility or blame. This also happened on my boyfriends card and my mums which had tried to book the holiday on also! (read more)

Booked a family holiday through the co op, Botley, Oxford, to Rhodes Town in september. At the time of booking we were asked if we would like a sea/pool view, smoking/non-smoking rooms etc. We had a veiw of delapidated residential flats, and every room had ashtrays, as there is no such thing as a non smoking room in the hotel, the rooms smelt really bad and had dirty carpets. We booked a skiing holiday through Coop travel following recommendation by Coop travel agents and when flight details and airline were changed causing great inconvenience, Coop travel displayed a total lack of customer care, goodwill and lack of influence over tour operators. No apologies were made by co op travel, no compensation was offered by coop travel and no alternative was offered by co op travel. I've never been a fan of travel agents, I prefer the do it yourself style approach.
Looking in Co-Op one day in my local co-op supermarket, they seemed to push in trying to sell me a holiday. They were at least offering them in the right country but were looking for me to buy holidays over my budget, which put me off. Not one I would recommend but it maybe just a bad member of staff.
