I have personally been to a number of these so called "group interviews/assessment days" and until now they had been pretty dire. However this place was fantastic. They had nice offices (don't be fooled, they r rented) and the staff were friendly and everything ran on time. Out of 9 people I was fortunate to have been selected along with 2 others to be on their "books" and have them actively look for work for me. After suffering a long wait for any prospects of an interview at another recruitment firm, i was abit dubious when i got the phone call about attending a 1st place recruitment day...how wrong i was. As soon as i entered it was very professional yet freindly. 1pgr asked if I would like to go to a group interview (assessment centre) for a job within the Recruitment world. When I got there everyone stood up and did a little introduction and then straight to the assessment. I really enjoyed it and I think I showed my full potential. Efficient: 1pgr approached me with an email asking whether I was interested in a job. I replied and booked myself in for a group interview. The interview day was short and sweet. Each candidate at the interview were thoroughly examined and were given plenty of opportunities to show their qualities. I got feedback on my performance before the day was over. I had my assessment centre today with 1st Place and was pleased with the day. An assessment centre is an assessment centre, they're there to find candidates with overall good skills and then match them to jobs, not (as some people on this board think), there to send you to a specific job on the day. Having applied for an IT consultant role with 1prg, I was eager and ready for work. I received a call from a lady who seemed very polite yet very hungry. If you are looking for a Sales role, this company can help. I had been to see loads of other Recruitment agency’s but none had offered the personal and professional service like this company had. Early last week I went to the Assessment Centre for a job in Sales with 1st Place as after the telephone interview I was under the impression it was in Events Management. I would not say this company is completely terrible, however the way you are treated by, in particular the manager P? So rude! The building is an old college building, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt as the company could be fantastic...well. Firstly one thing is FOR SURE. These guys office looks like an ex office hit by a zombie attack. They are guys are placed on the fourth floor however theres NOBODY else in the whole building not even on the ground floor LOL... Firstly, it's not an office, It's a weird set of rooms in a old small building (not the nicest place to work). Second, there's no receptionist to greet you and the actual assessment and tasks are tiresome and boring. There's no one to one interview, after the tasks and role play (you interview other candidates and vice-versa) you are asked to give a 3 min presentation to two of the staff members (who didn't even introduce themselves), as I was 'selling myself' filled with enthusiasm and... I got a call from 1st place, first thing in the morning after applying the night before- which should have sent alarm bells ringIng as no company gets back to you that quickly. After receiving the call from 1st place to come to an assessment day, they wanted me to come up the next day. Which for me meant a 10hour round trip, which was the biggest waste of my time and money EVER! One of our group even had a call 1hour before to come for the interview, others they thought had cancelled, aparantly that mistake happens all the time. The interview I attended today for 1st place graduate recruitment was situated at ravenscourt park in kings street, near Hammersmith. I attended an assessment day run by 1st Place over a month ago. Although I had been looking for jobs for a few weeks before that, this was the first time I was attending any such event. Went along ultimately looking for any job. It was quite a fun experience although it clarifies that sales is not for me. I didn't pass as a result however the staff were helpful and I got some positive feedback that I hope will help going into other assessments. I'd definitely recommend to anyone I know wanting sales. The branch I went to was in Ravenscourt Park near Hammersmith in London, The 1st Place Training Suite - 4th Floor, 275-281 King Street, Hammersmith, London, W6 9LZ.
This company is a complete sham.
First and for most they do not have a reception. It is a random big room with an small adjoined office and some metal chairs, literally that is all they have. Not even a proper door logo, just a piece of paper stuck on the wall.
You get tested by presenting once, twice, three times and do some...
