I passed my driving test first time on the 15th july 2012 thanks to Around The Bend. He is an excellent instructor and I would recommend him highly. My instructor len was incrrdibly patient and helpful during my course; he helped me to learn at my own pace and offered well thought out guidance. He was honest and fair in hos assessment of my performance, and a great guy to talk to as well. I recently passed my driving test on my first attempt and I'm very, very happy that I chose around the bend to tutor me. My instructor was so helpful, he made me feel comfortable from the beginning and safe as i'd never driven before. He would encourage me to try more difficult things and gave me the confidence and independence I needed to pass. From the first contact with Around the Bend driving school up to me passing, I have received nothing but high quality instructor training and guidance from the get go. My instructor from Around the Bend was a local instructor in Middlesbrough and knew all of the test routes in Middlesbrough. We did practise tests on the run up to my test which helped me a lot. I was dead nervous so these helped me and i ended up passing first time. Thanks ATB! (read more)

My instructor was Dave from Middlesbrough and I cant recommend him highly emough. He is a top man and a top instructor. He had a class sence of humor and is very down to earth. I realy think that I have learnt much more than just the basics of how to drive. He has give ma a good attitude towards driving and other road users. An absolute legend. Thanks Dave. PS if the rest of the instructors are even half as good as Dave then I would have no problem recommending any of them!! (read more)

I went with Around the Bend Driving school on a friends recommendation and im glad I did. The person who answered my first call was very friendly and helpful and soon had me booked in with Dave in Middlesbrough. Not the same instructor as my friend but as I found out, just as good. I cant comment on all of the instructors at around the bend but my instructor was great and my friends was too. Im assuming they check all their instructors to make sure their the same so I have no problem... (read more)

I am 20 years old and have just passed my driving test first time, and it was all down to the people at Around The Bend. I bought a package deal that was £725, which might sound like a lot, however this included 35 hours of driving and a free theory and practical test. This for me was money very well spent, and was made even greater for passing first time. At no point during in my learning did I feel the instructor held me back to try and gain more money from me. I have just passed my driving test on my FIRST attempt! A big thank you to my instructor at Around The Bend Driving School. My instructor was very patient and friendly and an expert driving instructor! Some of my friends instructors had them sitting in car parks talking for ages or even waiting in the car while the instructor filled up with petrol. I started my lessons in November 2011, with Peter Unsworth. Having no prior experience, I found him extremely helpful in getting me started, and throughout my learning. Although the lessons seemed a little pricey at first, you definitely get your money's worth, and I would recommend the company to anybody. Started taking lessons with Vaughan at the end of December 2011, 1 lesson a week. Having no previous experience was expecting it to be pretty tough and stressful but was made to feel extremely comfortable straightaway and looked forward to my weekly lesson more and more. Anyway on 03/04/2012 I passed my driving test first time with only 2 minors and I am so ecstatic. My view on learning to drive was it's too expensive, I can't do it, I'd panic too much, can't afford it, all the reasons you can think of. In fact, any reason I could think of, I used. Absolutely brilliant - words can't describe how grateful I am to around the bend's Pete Unsworth. He has been fantastic with me. I attempted my test when I was 17 with another school and the experience made me lose all my confidence which was enough to put me off learning for 7 years. I was referred to Pete by a friend who passed with Pete and he filled me with the confidence and helped me gain the skills to pass my test. The instructor that I had was very good as he did let me to do things on my own, and then he was syaing what i have done wrong. I liked that way of teachnig as it wasn't putting so much pressure on me and during the lessons i felt relaxed which is very important when learning. I think that the instructor had a good knowledge about all aspects of driving and wasn't picking on some little stupid things as some instructors does which are usually not necessary because it makes the driving more... I have been taking driving lessons, from 28th September 2010, with the driving school Around the Bend. These lessons were funded by my employer, Erimus Housing. On my first lesson I was introduced to a gentle man named Graeme Osbourne. He was designated as my driving instructor.
I found him to be polite, encouraging and down to Earth. From September onwards, Graeme has been a great support and has taught me everything I needed to know.
