“easy and cheap”

I use this service to contact family/friends/business from the UK to Holland. Very easy set up. Just follow instructions step by step. I used Paypal for my first credit of £15 as I did not want an unknown company my creditcard details. Calls are so cheap that the £15 takes a lot of minutes of calling time before further top-up is needed. Add contacts, when ever you need, is very easy as well. Oh they accept paypal, great! wrong they declined my verified paypal of over 10 years!, ok so i`ll pay by visa, wrong! declined! (even tho it went through fine verified by clickbank), ok maybe mastercard wrong!... wont even let me, as now they wont accept ANY payment until i provide a scan of passport or driving license + they want a scan of a utility bill! They wanted me to send them scans of passport, driving licence utility bill + thru e-mail! DO NOT SEND IMPORTANT identity papers via unencrypted e-mail, e-mail is as private as a billboard, by sending such important documents you are opening the doors to fraud on yourself, its irresponsible companies like this that are creating future fraud from sensitive documents via e-mail that could end up in the wrong hands

“The worst voip service ever experienced”

I have been using voip for ages, since 2004, and so far I had never encountered such an unbelievable operator. I needed a callback service to place calls when I'm abroad. Exactly what happens to ME ...They seem to be able to CANCEL your account at will , as soon as you complain !!!!
Then I had an "obnoxious person , whom advise me that was the end , and find another operator ,,, What about my REFUND !!!!
There has to be a body in the UK who look after the consumers and redress , these "bunch of rubbish" namely Lacalphone !!!!

“Cheap rates but below par call quality”

I have been a Localphone user for about 3 years now. Used it to call US, Canada, India & UK. In general, I would recommend it. Over the period of 3 years, I have noticed that they have decreased the call prices as their popularity soared and they had the power of volume to negotiate better termination contracts. All voip providers I have seen charge you for dialled numbers, not for call duration. If the call goes unanswered you still have to pay.

It is the way with these cheap services and how they keep thier call costs low.

“Calls made from Ireland Number... Do not connect.”

Topped up account to try service. It works in every way except, I make call to local access number. Receive a call back. Dial appropriate number followed by hash. Number never connects. After reading previous 26 reviews I see Local-phone have had customer difficulties similar to my own. Logic would dictate that the company resolve these issues. I see that one reviewer suggested that if the company got one dollar from each subscriber this would bring in many thousands without providing service. Maybe this is the business model they operate on. Anyone know whether they are licensed by. Are they licensed in the UK? Who can you contact to discuss this matter further?

As you can see I am attempting to resolve my issues with Local Phone. I managed to see their contact number at the end of home page. Telephoned this. Recorded message say's as of ''July '' they no longer offer support on the telephone. However they offer online service from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday to Friday. This sounds great, however they do not answer your emails. Will keep on the trail. Some one said a company stands or falls based on recommendation of it past and existing customers. Wise up Local Phone.

Today received email from LocalPhone. Offering me a free months sub to DID phone number. This is appreciated. However I really am looking for Local access number. This is a start. Thank you. Response time is still relatively slow. Watch this space on resolution to my problem.

I email the character @ LocalPhone ..the guy contracdict himself every second sentence , very poor English , sentence do NOT make sense ..
Then a fool, claim she responded by email ...except never , ever receive email , then asked to send it back ... and well you know DEAD SILENCE ...
