“The worst company I have experienced”

Similar to the below complaints - basically booking/paying is easy, after that it becomes a nightmare. No-one turned up, no-one can be contacted (the email addresses don't work and there is no number I could find) and you just pay your money into a black hole. I completely concur with the reviewer below. Have used LPI for last three years and have always found them efficient. This time it is a completely different ball game. I left instructions to arrange a time with my tenants direct - an engineer who cannot speak English has now called me five times even though I told he needs to call the tenants. Avoid this company at all costs. If you think you're going to get a great deal and its going to be a simple straightforward service think again. Its easy enough to enter the details of what you want and to pay. After that you're on your own. Try calling their help number and it tells you to talk to their team via their online chat service (initiated from the same page you got the number from, but after you've paid for the inflated price of a call). “Cheap but unreliable ... non-existent customer service”

As with other reviewers ... I have used LPI for the last 3 years. But this year (March 2014) there service level has dropped considerably. Will avoid them in future. They have taken the full payment for gas safety cert and boiler service, but I have not heard anything back from them for over a week. And no sign of that gas certificate (normally they email a soft copy)! As a landlord this is a very big issue as the liability rests with me if something happens at the property. I have used London Property Inspections on several occasions and have always found them to be efficient and pleasant to deal with. This time was no exception: appointment was booked on-line and confirmed over email. Engineer was punctual and called 20 minutes before arriving, as agreed. He was friendly, polite and efficient. “Fast, efficient service”

Easy to book and the appointment was confirmed very quickly. I am a landlord and the tenant was happy with the service- on time as per booking and weekend appointments available. I found the advisor very helpful in getting appointments at short notice and have been very satisfied with the service I have received. I must admit the only negative is that they no longer contact the tenant directly to make the appointment which is often easier if they do since it's sometimes the case that you need to make several enquiries. “Beware ! you pay in advance, no come back if things go...”

I paid for a landlord gas certificate and boiler service. The "engineer" who turned up had no knowledge about my boiler. He could not even tell that the gas was turned off (I found this this out later when I used a competent engineer). The guy gave me some story about he was unable toup the boiler without a key. I tried to ignore the terrible reviews as I had a good service from this company a couple of years ago. Unfortunately though I got my fingers burnt and my experience was similar to many others on here. If the engineer doesn't turn up your screwed because there's no way to contact anyone about it. The phone number charges you to tell you to use the online chat facility and the chat facility either isn't manned or doesn't work.

Ignore this review because it paints a totally unrealistic picture of this service.

“Incompetent or even a fraudulent company?”

I am also having problems after placing an order for an EPC inspection for which I've paid. The inspection date is supposed to be next week but they arent responding to phone/ email/ instant messaging. In light of this and the below reports I've asked for a refund, as I believe is my right, under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. “Avoid like the plague.”

All of the other 1 star and lower reviews are accurate in my opinion. I booked a Gas Certificate and EPC through their phone number (which turned out to be a call centre in Ireland). They gave me a very specific window in which the engineer would show up. Surprise, surprise, they failed to show up, and have made no contact via email or phone to offer an apology or rescheudle.
