I would like to say that it was a great pleasure speaking to the agent in the Nottingham branch earlier on. He asked me how my day was going and he answered all my questions I had. He said that he would keep a eye on the account to make sure that everything went well when engineer visited. He is a real credit to your company and I would like this to passed on to him. “Blocked Bathroom/ toilet drain”

Just before Christmas our drain became partially blocked. Home Serve plumber arrived in good time and eventually cleared the blockage. It took about 2 hours due to the complicated system needing my knowledge of the pipe layout. The work was done keeping all areas as clean as possible inside and outside of the house. “Water Pump Seizure”

My water pump made a horrible noise and the heating packed up on a Friday Morning. Having a lung disability that requires me to have 18 degrees Celsius and temeratures outside were -7 degrees I was very concerned. Thought I’d share my experience with Homeserve Plumbing and Drains Cover Homeserve is underwritten by Aviva Insurance, which also in my opinion brings concern with the regular home insurance and car insurance Aviva supply. I understand that you are unhappy with your claims experience and I’m sorry you feel you did not benefit from the cover.

I have looked into this further and a complaint was logged and investigated to ensure that a fair resolution was provided.

We did advise when the claim was made that an engineer will be out to isolate the leak and prevent further damage which we did to the best we could, this is also stated on the terms and conditions as to what we do in this situation.

As the claim was honoured and we did what was stated on the terms and conditions of your policy, the excess fee would not be refunded. I’m really sorry about the inconvenience this has caused.

“A job well done”

We had a problem with our boiler, malfunctioning switch which was leaking. The first engineer quickly identified the problem and drained the system to avoid flooding. He told me that a new part was required and could take a few days to arrive. To my surprise and pleasure, it arrived the next day and another engineer came and fitted it, he spent hours dealing with air in the system but succeeded in getting everything working well. “Bath Taps”

The Engineer, very kindly changed my Bath taps, but after he left, I went to run the bath water, but to my amazement, the water came out in a fast trickle ! the engineer said he didn't need to turn the water off at the stopcock, because there was a way of stopping the water by the taps . “Awkward work”

We discovered a leak behind our boiler and after contacting HomeServe we had a plumber within an hour...on a Sunday afternoon. The lad who arrived identified the leaking pipe which was running behind 2 hot water pipes and couldn't have been more awkward. The plumber had a good luck at it and somehow managed to cut out the offending pipe and replaced it without any further damage being done. “A complete muddle”

Broken air vent bleed valve on a rad, a 2 minute fix I was told by the home serve guy and his apprentice. To my surprise they did not have such a basic part in stock. Three days later not heard anything so I contacted homeserve only to find out because the guy had forgotten to register the call on his iPad nothing had been done re ordering a spare part. Keep in mind no hot water/central heating as couldn't use boiler because the waste pipe was blocked Ridiculous service, highly not recommended. Please don't pay these scums. “APPALLING!”

I have been completely without hot water & heating for 2 weeks with an intermittent fault for the last 4 weeks. They didn't even try to fix the intermittent fault & left the boiler dangerously in pieces after trying to fix it. The engineers consistently told lies about attending the problem & leaving twice on a promise to call back and then didn't! It has now taken a week for a part to get to a new engineer but they have not made it a priority to come to fix the problem. I have wasted MANY… Read Full Review

Ranged Homeserve and another surprise no plumber is available until Friday. So appointment made between 12pm and 6pm. Plumber came 9pm 3 hours late. He tried the vacuum sucktion method didn't work why because vacuum pipe had cracks in it wow. So he nicely excused by saying this job needs electric jet which he doesn't have. He ranged the home serve himself to ask for one and they said next available plumber is on Monday. So cutting the story short I waited until Monday. Today the plumber came at 1pm, I was happy as he had the electric jet. But another surprise that electric jet was faulty too wasn't working at all. So he left. Another appointment booked for today before 6pm and received a call quarter to 6 that the engineer is not coming today as he has the faulty electric jet as well. Now they gave me an appointment on Wednesday. 6 DAYS WITHOUT HOT WATER AND CENTRAL HEATING... thank you home serve NOT

“Sort a water tank problem in loft to stop overflow leak.”

The actual problem for which the plumber came was sorted out quickly and efficiently. However, while he was here, I asked him to look at the cold bath tap, which was leaking. I thought it must be a washer needing replacement. The man said this particular type of tap did not have a washer and recommended that the taps be replaced by new ones - a lengthy job (and probably expensive). The problem was thoroughly investigated and dealt with efficiently - everything was cleared up and left very neat and tidy. “Electrician service”

I had a ceiling light that would not turn off. and was told that they would have to lift the carpets to access the junction box in the ceiling above, but i would have to have someone come to replace them and put back the floor boards. This means that I would have pay for a separate service, perhaps 2, for the carpet and floor boards, for the Homeserve electrician to service the contract.
