I applied for a job and was initially successful, I did however deal with three different consultants for the same job. The job description was not true to the role required by the company. After applying for another job I was told by CL the company did not wish to fill the position as yet, which was not my impression during the interview, they did have an immediate requirement, incredibly CL on the day I was told this place an advert for the same role on their website. Very, very, very poor and unprofessional recruitment agency. I am not so sure that they have credibility with companies looking for staff.

All well and good up to the point of the interview. Post interview? Not so much as a courtesy call. No call to tell me I didn't get the job. No offer of feedback. I couldn't even get the agent to take a single call from me, in spite of assurances from the switchboard that he'd be in touch asap. In the end, I managed to get feedback from the HR dept of the company I'd applied to; they were very helpful and positive (and they weren't very impressed with CL). Try another agency if you can. Or be prepared for a frosty, unhelpful end to things when the money trail goes cold for CL.

Actually gave me an aggressive response "thats why I asked you earlier which companies you have already applied to" this is after I had said I can confirm which companies I had already applied for, if they could just confirm who they were representing, the person made up a load that do not exist and also companies that plainly state that they do not use or do not wish to communicate with recruitment agencies. "oh hi, could you give a call, i've got a client that would be interested in meeting with you " Voicemail "can you call me on (number), I have a client that would be interested in meeting with you" Email Scripted me thinks, tone was contemptuous and rude.

I just give up with these guys. They have no idea what courtesy is when speaking on the phone as they are very abrupt, they give you the run around for weeks promising to get in touch but never do. Yet other recruiters from the same agency keep contacting me. I am still waiting for them to get in touch after my last interview which was four months ago. Apparently I did really well and was perfect for the role but after following up three times I gave up. Maybe they don't like telling people they were unsuccessful? Anyway with flight and accommodation costs I am out of pocket of over £200 so a little courtesy was the least I expected.

I have dealt with many agencies recently and this ones is by far the most unprofessional and unhelpful I have ever come across. They do not pass on your details to employers when they say they have, I know this because I have checked with some employers directly. They are rude on the phone and never get back to you when they say they will. The consultant in charge of IT Support vacancies was particularly disingenuous and just seemed to want to provide lip service, no real substance at all. I wouldn't recommend to employers or job seekers, simply a waste of time and I have heard the same from many other people and employers, it seems that Cooper Lomaz is developing a very poor reputation!

Many of the jobs advertised by Cooper Lomaz do not seem to exist. The salary is always "negotiable", the location is always "a county". I believe they do this to make it look like they're doing more busines than they are and are collecting CVs. I've enquired roughly where a job is in a county twice now and have had a very rude reply on one occasion and no reply on another. The agent (or consultant as they're so keen to be referred to) in question no longer works for this agency. If you're an employer, you should bear in mind that prospective candidates looking for work may choose not to use this agency, no matter how good the role looks.
