Not a big fan of the Gary Fisher Tarpon mountain bike. I thought it was too heavy and too expensive for what you get.

Quite good bike has got no stand in which people might. THe Gary Fisher Tarpon is also quite expensive, for what you get so i cant say its good value for money.

I love this Gary Fisher Tarpon mountain bike. I did however, change out the cassette. I had it replaced with a Mega-Range 34T to climb the hills. I also put a pair of Shimano M 515 pedals for clipless action. I also wished that the shocks were adjustable. Other than that it's a great bike. The frame solid I've never felt it flex. It could handle some jumps and fast downhills.

Seriously... The Gary Fisher Tarpon bike is rubbish. If you plan on doing anything close to trail riding or are going to ride your bike often spend some more money and get a real mountain bike. I'm warning you DO NOT buy this bike. My ten year old CCM puts this bike to shame (in fact this is what I end up riding most often since the Gary Fisher is always broken). I have had it for one summer and have broken the bottom bracket 3x, the rear axel and quick releases 2x, and the crank. Since I have ...

The Tarpon from Gary Fisher Bikes is an excellent hardtail mountain bike! I added 'Manitou Magnum R' front suspension and 'Tioga' risers and a 'Kore' handle bar grip with a descent bar.
Amazing for getting lots of air on small ramps. If you are considering buying a hardtail, then you should definitely look at the 'Tarpon'!!!
The whole package cost £310 including extras + front suspension.
