Bought a Cata oven 24 Dec 2010, which failed 26th Dec 2012. Bought a Cata oven & hob from B&Q on 27th Dec 2012, now one hob ring won't turn off, have to have a saucepan of water when using oven just to stop ring overheating. Bad service trying to repair it (engineer didn't turn up (0800Repair)). Looking at the other reviews, I shall be taking it back to B&Q (still have receipt) for a full refund. The knobs on the hob do not switch off properly We normally switch off at the main switch One night we didnt and we found one hob was not switching off even though it was pointing to off. It was red hot and could have caused a fire. (read more)

I bought a cata static oven on offer at B&Q and it looked very robust. After a few months though I had problems with regulating the temperature, it overheats and you need to watch your food all the time. The whole oven heats up on the outside so much you cannot even touch the handle or control knobs with your bare hands. Absolute RUBBISH . One of the hob rings has been repaired after the third time the engineer came round and still not working correctly .The fridge freezer alarm doesn't work and never has done from new .Ive got two years grantee on both units and its coming to the end I bought them from b@q and I didn't think they were cheap. Purchased a gas hob 4 weeks ago and one of the burner rings has played up from being installed, now stopped working. It was a cheap hob and now I know why. Would not buy this product again. (read more)

I purchased the hob from BandQ and from being installed 2 of the plates havent worked. Engineer came out over 4 weeks ago and still nothing. Cant get the parts and wont give me a replacement. Shocking customer service. Would never buy anything from Cata again.

bout a hob from b@q in april 2011 now january2012 the oven has gone yet again for the 3rd time and just been repaired 22nd dec 2011 im now going to demand they change the oven which will probably come to no avail as it took me an hr to get thru on the fone and to say the least unpleassant! deff never again would i buy this make. This Cata hob was on special offer at B & Q and looked like a bargain, as good as many more expensive hobs. I am very disappointed with the product. It was installed in my new house in April 2010, not used until I moved in November 2010. Within 6 months 1st hob stopped working, a few weeks later 2nd hob stopped working. Do not buy this product. It's dangerous. For the first time I used three of the rings simultaneously and within ten minutes the whole glass hob had imploded - thank God it's safety glass otherwise I dread to think what would have happened. Unbelievable and now I have face the whole job of trying to get a replacement. I will be insisting on a stainless steel hob now. I have never seen anything like it and would advise against any Cata hob. (read more)

Absolute Useless, l hope nobody has the misfortune of buying any c--a product from B&Q ever again .B&Q should know better than to stock this product. If any company deserves to close down it is definately this one. Dreadful. Bought hob & cooker Dec 09 as xmas present for elderly mother. It is now Feb 2011 and neither work. The hobs have sporadically worked and the cooker but without enough regularity to actually be able to plan meals. The engineer has taken forever to get 'the right part' and never turns up before 6pm which is hardly convenient for an elderly widow living alone. Engineer does not seem to have a clue. I am using the Cata hob from 3 years and the service is pathetic. Bangalore service head says that since I am not happy with his service, he doesnt want to replace the parts. They accept themselves that the parts are not designed for long term use. A regular gas stove is much better than this hob because it cannot burn in very high temperatures according to Cata service. Bought a Cata hob at B&Q which developed a fault when still under Quarentee
Trying to get the fault fixed has been a nightmare. A replacement arrived which was badly damaged and the engineer could not fit it.
Told new one would arrive on Monday waited in all day nothing came.
Rang on the Tuesday said they would ring me back after investigating they never did
I rang 4 times before being told it would arrive sometime that day. waited in all day still nothing arrived.
I'll have to start all...

UPDATE: Took oven & hob back to B&Q today who refunded in full. Their repair service, 0800repair, is no better though. Couldn't get engineer out when booked, couldn't identify problem, told parts would be ordered, 5-7 days delivery; 2 weeks later received call from repair company asking what parts do we need? Bad, just bad.

We bought a Cata induction hob and it has stopped working (after a year but within the 2 year guarantee period). They have agreed to send an engineer to fix it but, despite arranging an appointment a week in advance the engineer came when I was at work. I was then told by Cata's service centre that appointments could only be made between 8am and 6pm and that I would have to wait another week for another appointment!!! Totally and utterly hacked off with Cata - I wouldn't buy anything else from them
