“Cata oven bought from B& Q”

Appalling piece of equipment. I had it repaired within its warranty period and then repaired- or rebuilt throughout with my insurance cover at least 4 times. Now after 5 years I am replacing it as is now irreparable and a total waste of money.

“Waste of money”

bought this miserable oven five months ago. So far they fixed it 3 times. It's already falling apart starting with hobs. Be ware of cata. Don't you ever think of buying anything from this brand. It's a complete waste of money and nerves

“Worst product ever !!!!!!!!”

What an absolute load of rubbish, bought cooker and hob and after less than a year it broke down, took three weeks for engineer to come and out and was in for 3 mins and left. Customer service could not contact engineers and it took a further week for spare part to come. engineer came to replace part and spoke to me like a five year old and blamed my new house electrics although everything else is working. shook his head and left, he was so ignorant and customer services were useless. goodbye cata your company is attrocious

“Data electric oven”

Purchased oven Xmas eve 2014 broke August 2015 took 10 days to get a replacement from ringing everyday being given excuses and passed to other departments. Asked for phone number of cata was told to look on the Internet . Very disappointed with customer service. Will not recommend cata products to anyone

“Very Poor Quality of Material, No after sale sERVICE”

I purchased a Elegant Hob on 17 Jul2014 . With in a month All the plates started pitting and the Burner screws rusting and base discolouring . No after sales service available . No response from the company or the Dealer Now two burners have stopped functioning. Never go near any Cata Products

“DO NOT BUT ANYTHING FROM CATA”

Purchased the CATA UBECT60 electric hob in August 2013, it failed just 4 months after light use. The engineer has been out to fix the hob 4 times, each time he has the same pathetic look on his face as CATA insist he replaces the same part over and over again. CATA will not replace the hob as they say "there is no defined SLA in getting this fixed", so we just have to wait until either a miracle is produced or the hob fixes itself. SO, Dear CATA firstly your product is rubbish and your customer services are even worse, you might as well outsource to India as at least the Indians are polite. PLEASE stick this where the sun no longer shines

“Cata Rubbish Stay Clear”

We have been living in a rented property for 18 months now having to cook on this Cata electric hob and oven. The hub has had three replacement rings, the power keeps going off, I think they say "as a thermostat" but if you set at no 4 and then light goes out and attempt to turn up to no 6 it still refuses to work. The rings do not fry properly when cycled off. We cannot cook properly with these rings do not buy they are just a waste of money. Landlords please take note and look after your tenants!!

Those that do have no control, the size of the flame on full blast appears to be little bigger than the simmer, which boils anything your cooking. Only positive is the gas on black gas looks nice, but others are just as good looking, if not better, and you may be able to use them. The poeple selling these (B&Q in my case) should be shot for offering the product.

“No thermostat = no control”

Terrible. Thermostats just don't work. One minute 3 on the dial is boiling over, the next it's on 6 and can't even hold a simmer! Not even a yr old and has been like it from day one. Avoid avoid avoid!

Yes it was cheap but when one ring stopped working 3 months after purchase i was told by B&Q to call CATA. I called them, with no sucess, after several times i gave up. Now i have only 3 rings but even these 3 rings started to weaken or something, it takes ages for anything to boil, cook, fry on any of the rings. Not even 2 years old and its not fit for purpose. Terrible product, no lifespan whatsoever. Do yourself a favour and buy something else.

“Cata Induction Hob”

Bought the Cata Induction Hob from B&Q just over 2 years ago. Only used it once as was not living in the house. Moved in last week after finishing running a pub (where I was living) only to find that the hob did not work. I rang B&Q who said you have to contact the manufacturer. I did this and they told me to send an e-mail of the problem. Once this was done they contacted me to say an engineer would call out. He came, but suprise suprise he didn't have any spares with him. I was told it would take about 5 days to get the part needed. This takes us up to xmas day. Rang B&Q again arguing the point that the hob was not fit for its purpose. Was told nothing they could do and I would have to wait for the part. Would not advise anyone to buy electrical goods from B&Q, this hob was part of a £3500.00 kitchen. Unfit for its purpose.

The engineer has called out again today with his spare parts x 2 guess what it must have been the 3rd part that has packed up. Here we go again must wait for at least 5 days for the part and not only have I had to be without the hob over xmas I am now going to be without it over new year. I will never ever buy anything from Cata again or any other electrical item from B&Q.

hi. our landlady brought a cata model EC600 from b & q after 3 weeks our wife was cooking a casserole & went to check by lifting out of oven & put on hob. as she was doing this the glass of the hob crack. would this come under the warranty as a fault good, as we now have to pay for a replacement & does anyone else know of this happening

“Not fit for purpose”

Bought a Cata oven 24 Dec 2010, which failed 26th Dec 2012. Bought a Cata oven & hob from B&Q on 27th Dec 2012, now one hob ring won't turn off, have to have a saucepan of water when using oven just to stop ring overheating. Bad service trying to repair it (engineer didn't turn up (0800Repair)). Looking at the other reviews, I shall be taking it back to B&Q (still have receipt) for a full refund. Advice: DO NOT BUY CATA PRODUCTS

UPDATE: Took oven & hob back to B&Q today who refunded in full. Their repair service, 0800repair, is no better though. Couldn't get engineer out when booked, couldn't identify problem, told parts would be ordered, 5-7 days delivery; 2 weeks later received call from repair company asking what parts do we need? Bad, just bad.

We bought a Cata induction hob and it has stopped working (after a year but within the 2 year guarantee period). They have agreed to send an engineer to fix it but, despite arranging an appointment a week in advance the engineer came when I was at work. I was then told by Cata's service centre that appointments could only be made between 8am and 6pm and that I would have to wait another week for another appointment!!! Totally and utterly hacked off with Cata - I wouldn't buy anything else from them

“This hob is DANGEROUS”

The knobs on the hob do not switch off properly We normally switch off at the main switch One night we didnt and we found one hob was not switching off even though it was pointing to off. It was red hot and could have caused a fire.

“appallingly dangerous”

I bought a cata static oven on offer at B&Q and it looked very robust. After a few months though I had problems with regulating the temperature, it overheats and you need to watch your food all the time. The whole oven heats up on the outside so much you cannot even touch the handle or control knobs with your bare hands. I have had an engineer out but now they need more temperature tests and trying to get someone to commit or call you back with a definitive answer is not possible. I am trying to get an address to take this further but again have been unble to get one so continue to phone.

“Gas Hob and Fridgefreezer ”

Absolute RUBBISH . One of the hob rings has been repaired after the third time the engineer came round and still not working correctly .The fridge freezer alarm doesn't work and never has done from new .Ive got two years grantee on both units and its coming to the end I bought them from b@q and I didn't think they were cheap. I think we should all get together and shame CATA On the watch dog program !

Purchased a gas hob 4 weeks ago and one of the burner rings has played up from being installed, now stopped working. It was a cheap hob and now I know why. Would not buy this product again.

I purchased the hob from BandQ and from being installed 2 of the plates havent worked. Engineer came out over 4 weeks ago and still nothing. Cant get the parts and wont give me a replacement. Shocking customer service. Would never buy anything from Cata again.

bout a hob from b@q in april 2011 now january2012 the oven has gone yet again for the 3rd time and just been repaired 22nd dec 2011 im now going to demand they change the oven which will probably come to no avail as it took me an hr to get thru on the fone and to say the least unpleassant! deff never again would i buy this make.
