Great Beginning, Poor Ending We used Acorn in November 209 to ship some furniture from Dubai to our house in Wales, UK. The Acorn team were brilliant - v personable. The packing team came in like a swarm of locusts and slickly packed up our goods. When the shipment arrived in the UK the goods went to their UK partners, Cos freight. Cos, however, said they might not release the goods on time due to payment backlogs from Acorn. Our goods got sorted out and released after some frantic calls. When our belongings arrived in Wales we were SHOCKED at the amount fo damage and breakages to our goods. Whether or not we have insurance is immaterial - the standard of packaging should not have allowed such a high level of breakage. We have made many international and domestic moves and this was unusual. We also found that items were not packed logically, e.g. flower pots packed with kitchenware. Our table top is still missing (!) but Cos are hoping it will turn up. Lesson learnt: Use a major brand name and pay up. Acorn are aware of this but there has been no call from them or offer of compensation. Reputation and word of mouth are important in expat markets - which is why we called them in the first place - so I am surprised and disappointed with Acorn.

Very happy with the service. Excellent staff and very polite in Dubai and London. Packing was excellent not one item broken. Shipment arrived on time and we also used their storage facilities.

Used them twice to ship from Dubai to Saudi and from Dubai to UK. Great packaging, good price, and professional delivery service.

We have moved our household items from Dubai to Hyderabad, India. We had terrible time from these people. Goods are not handled properly, looted additional money. Do not recommend this company for anyone.

Dreadful service. No communication. Did not reply to emails. Sent a couple of boxes to UK from Dubai, was sitting there for weeks. I contacted them to ask where it was, said they didn't have delivery details although they had already confirmed with me they had received them when originally sent. Claimed they had been sending emails to wrong address when they had already sent quote to correct address. Absolutely useless.

Acorn Moved me from London to Canada and provided an exceptional service. Communication was excellent and no hidden fees. I paid everything in advance as requested by them and all my belonging arrived in perfect condition. My shipment arrived on time and Great service all round.

Acorn shipping did our move to London to Toronto. Everything was fine until I tried to make an insurance claim on some damaged items. The UK office told us nothing to do with them and must contact the Toronto office (apparently separate companies). Despite assuring me on numerous occasions (obviously wasting even more of my money on lots of international calls) that they had put in a claim with the Canadian office, no-one at the Canadian office knew anything about it. Left messages, wrote emails to London and was finally assured by UK representative that everything was submitted at last ( after 5 months of me phoning them). Apparently the Toronto office was going to sort it out with me. 6 months later I am still waiting. And they also charged my friends they did the same type of move for a whole lot of extra money that wasn't included in their quote. Obviously at that stage they had my friend's stuff in their possession, so they couldn't do much to fight it. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

PLEASE DONT USE ACORN YOU WILL REGRET. I used them couple of months ago to move from UK to Dubai thinking they were reasonable priced but when my shipemnt arrived in Dubai they added up so many different costs plus my stuff was demaged. Their manager was very nice initially but when i went back with my complaints he turned out to be a totally different. When i contacted their office in London i was told they have nothing to do with it althou initially i was told we are all one company. I will never use them again would rather pay a little extra and use pickfords or crown relocations.

I was happy with the service until our furniture arrived. We ended up being charged additional fees (not quoted before) and few items arrived damaged. I asked many times for explanation (and tried to use the insurance paid by us to deal with the damaged goods). I never got any reply........... I was and still am deeply disappointed...
