“Leaking Gun ”

★★☆☆☆

written by CamilleThorpe400 on 18/08/2015

I bought this washer and only used it a few times to wash my trailer. I only have it about 2 years. When I took it out to use recently the gun started leaking and there was no pressure in the water jet rendering the washer virtually useless. Found it difficult to source spare parts and customer support. Have this minute bought a new gun off ebay - so will wait and see if that improves my situation. This item is made of poor quality component parts and did not live up to expectations. Disappointing - as it was not that cheap.

I have had my lavor superwash 160 for over five years and it has been used for commercial use apart from a broken hose fitting it has performed faultlessly,as for the lack of support after sales this is nonsense Lavor uk is based at Warrington,I took my previous model there with a faulty gun and it was replaced on the spot free of charge.

“undoubtedly a one time use pressure washer”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ededdie on 23/12/2014

I bought this piece of stuff about 3 years ago and used it when I needed to paint my house, I used it intensively for a week and a few times after that, after which the gun split in two. I emailed and phoned the company in italy, with the benefit of an italian translator, looking for a spare part. Finally, I found a website that sells this stuff on the internet, but they do not accept orders outside the EU, though they do sell their stuff. I did, by the grace of god find a new gun, but it also started leaking. Next, the whole thing stopped working. I cannot be bothered to go through the hassle of another nightmare contacting this company, but I think they should be sued for misrepresentation of their stuff as products. I would never buy another piece of stuff from this company, and warn potential buyers. Made in Italy, huuuhhh? for the price, stick to made in China, and you know what you get.

“Lavor superwash 160”

★☆☆☆☆

written by bruce2010 on 09/09/2011

My Aunty and I both purchased our Laqvor superwash 160, they had both been used occassionaly. The hose on my pressure washer formed a hole in the hose, so I borrowed my aunties, and blow me down, that also formed a hole in the hose!

Just an update, I telephoned customer services, and they were most unhelpful, I asked to speak to the manager but was advised I was, that I didn't believe as the person didn't have people skills.....watch this space.

“I bought a Lavor Superwash 160 about 4 years ago from...”

★★★★☆

written by on 21/11/2010

I bought a Lavor Superwash 160 about 4 years ago from Lidl for £99.99. After checking the alternate makes from B&Q, Wickes and Halfords it was the best value for money with the highest power rating coming in atleast £60 cheaper.
The only doubt I had was the after sales support through Lidl with a standard 12 months warrenty, which I didn't need to call upon fortunately.
The standard nylon hose that came with it recently broke at the reel kink, I was expecting it to go last year! I've had a good run and there seems to be both the standard and superior steel braded spares available for £33 to £46 including delivery from various sources.
Can't fault the brand, considering Lidl's markup Lavor was practically giving the model away to presumably gain market share and make money on spares.
It's a business after all.

“This performs well enough as long as it is working....”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 29/10/2010

This performs well enough as long as it is working. The problem is it is poorly made from cheap components. Mine broke down inside the guarantee period so I tried to contact Lavor. Their support line is a 0900 number which charges 75p per minute. To ensure they get as much out of you as possible you have to listen to a long winded recorded message before you can speak to a rep. I did eventually get through, short circuiting this procedure, by going through their sales department. Needless to say this was answered promptly by a human. They did eventually repair the machine but it took them 6 weeks and they insisted on replacing the nozzles, which they claimed were "worn out". Considering the machine only had occasional use since buying it I suspect this was just a ploy to get some money out of me.
I used it twice before it broke down again. Sent back to Lavor. This time they claim fault was "caused by customer not releasing pressure before storing machine". I always did release the pressure as per manual instructions and any way it is impossible to disconnect the garden hose unless you do so. However, arguing with the engineer, who insists that you didn't, is a rather pointless exercise as I found out. In the end I paid £60 for repair or they would "dispose" of the machine. I suppose I could have pushed it further - small claims courts, etc, but I doubt the hassle would be worth it and outcome uncertain.
At this time I am still waiting for the machine to come back. I have no doubt it will break down again in short order. When it does I will chuck it in the skip and buy myself a Karcher.
To sum up - Lavor products are junk and their after sales service is appalling.
