the fan is like having a hgv revving up in your living room it switches off constantly plus the seller i bought from through amazon was rotovator who have no communication skills when they eventually agreed for me to send it back they e mailed me to say manufacturer had went bust so i could sing for a new projector basically just plain and simple ripped me off for my money (read more)

I diagree with some of the comments i have owned this projector since December 2010 and they gave me 3 bulbs I use the projector constantly and clean the fan cover regular i dont have any problems whatsoever. Maybe the custome helpline may be poor i dont know as i have neever needed to call them? The only downfalls if you want to call them that is, it only has 1 hdmi port which means you have to keeps swapping for sky and ps3 (or get a splitter). The other thing is it doent work... First off i had a £3000 projector till the bulb blew then i looked into making projectors and finally i came across this unit. because of the bulb it takes i snapped it up. i brought it second hand for £70 its got a built in tuner analogue and speaker both the speaker and tuner didnt work and i didnt care in the slightest. i use this for gaming and films and i get a 6ft by 7ft screen size. it could be slightly sharper on really small text like when you use it as a pc screen but for films... I purchased this item from RIGHTPROJECTORS.co.uk. I have used this item for about a week and half. It keeps stopping every 10mins. It keeps switching itself off. They are the same people from VisualTronic, CLEARCO or Whatever. I emailed them numerous times within the last few days, but they don't reply!!!! aaaahhhhhhh..... so annoying!! We bought a our Clearco HD 9000 Technic projector from Visualtronic earlier this year. It stopped working after 3 months!!! Apart from being really noisy, the projector turns off after about 5 minutes. You can hear the fan working overtime. I sent an email to visual tronic and finally got a response to increase the 'duration' field to 60 as this was a facility on the projector to turn off if not in use. We have done this and it still turns off.

The fan was very loud which was distracting during seminars and the projector was heavy to move and didn't have a carry case, thus making it awkward to carry. I decided to change brands within a year.
That said, it was very cheap, it had no mechanical faults and the picture it produced was very clear - not all bad.

Also got an HD9000 bought from visualtronic who supplied it in place of HD500 which was ordered at at better spec; they said it was the same and refused to replace it unless i sent it back at my expense and they would refund less carriage paid both ways. Had a huge row with them and contacted OFT who said they were in breach of contract but of course you have all the hassle of returning at more expense, before maybe getting a resolution. Had this projector for less than a day. Scart connection wouldn't work so returned as faulty. Large projector compared to recent mainstream makes. Quality of image poor with blury edges. Doesn't stop there! Visualtronic who sell the projector are a nightmare to communicate with. They don't reply to emails and if you are lucky enough to get a reply it will be days later. Orders are sent out late (not next day)..more like next month! Communication by phone is rushed and very impersonal. I just... (read more)

Surprised how good this is for the price. Picture is clean and bright and its good for home cinema use. Sure there are better projectors on the market but i think youd have to spend a hell of a lot more to get a better unit. If you just want to get yourself a projector that does the job well at a good price then this is the one. Very pleased with it. (read more)

Ive had this projector for about 4 weeks now and its been nothing short of fantastic. Sunday night is movie night now ive now got my own home cinema. I got this off visualtronic and they delivered it next day. The projector itself is quite sleek looking and ive wall mounted it so its just permanently up. It has a remote with it so if you are sat on your sofa you can control the projector from the sofa while you are watching it which is good. For 200 quid this about the best 200 quid ive...
