“Fraudulent company and have filed police report”

Written on: 13/10/2011

I wish I researched this company and read reviews before. Basically they contacted me about a 1 year SEO service - said seemed ok and then called to get my credit card details - said not payment would be taken until I was happy with outline what they were going to do and services. After that call they NEVER contacted me again! I noticted over 700 pounds were taken from my account and thought that was odd as they did not have my website log in details to make changes etc. Next I called and... (read more)

“www.keysearch consultancy.com - 'consultancy' ha! ha!”

Written on: 05/08/2011 by markov_25 (1 review written)

Last year we were invited to join there 'consultancy' with a view to improving Google ratings, slick pitch, good price, how could we resist? We paid our money and took our chances. Have since tried to contact them to no avail "we'll call you back in a jiffy"... Last week Inkfish illegally tried to take money from our credit card and would have succeeded had we not checked on-line whom they were...these are the same guys that started 'granny bashing' in the 70's only this time in suits!! “Beware of them!!”

Written on: 27/07/2011 by Rossi144 (1 review written)

After a very bad expierience with key Search - they did not achieve any of the claims re optimisation and refused to refund our money as promised at the time of sale - we finally reclaimed the money through Mastercard who did a great Job. Today we get our Mastercard statement to see an amount charged from Ink Fish Creative Ltd - We have contacted Mastercard and they apprear to have picked up the Key Search clients billing details - I wonder how!! Mastercard will attempt to recover this... (read more)

Thank you. Fortunately I closed my bank account associated with the debit card. But I have warned a few other people to check their accounts, so again. Thank you. Please note that this is theft, not fraud, theft. Call Nottingham police and report it.

Seriously, inform the Police.

Dan Carney's explanation for these repeat payments has been that they are either errors or automatic renewals. If the client doesn't contact Key Search to cancel the service then it will automatically renew and another payment will be taken. Apparently it's in the terms & conditions. This, however, is completely different. There is no way it can be legal to transfer someone's payment card details to another company and just start taking payments. This is either theft or, at the very least, fraud. Either way, it can't be legal and must be stopped. The only way he will stop is if the Police get involved.

Contact the Police.

Hi,

As a managing partner of Inkfish i can categorically state that we are in no way affiliated with Key Search Ltd. We have simply acquired their database of clients as they are preparing to enter liquidation. Any history with Key Search can in no way be attributed to ourselves. We are all out of the office until the 1st August, where if you could contact us on this date we would be more than happy to look into your issue. I can confirm we operate with integrity and any abuse of company information will be treated with the highest of priority.

If you could email, hello@inkfishcreative.co.uk with all your details i can ensure it will be looked into first thing.

Kind Regards
Inkfish Creative

Seriously, inform the Police. This is a crime. There is no way this transaction could be an error or a renewal for an annual service because you have not signed up for a service with this new company. Someone has deliberately set up this transaction and taken money from your account. That is straight up theft and this must be stopped.

If Inkfish is in no way affiliated with Key Search, can you then explain why the content on the "WEBSITE OPTIMISATION" page on the Inkfish website is an absolute duplicate of the content of the "Search Engineering" page on the Key Search website?

So Inkfish are offering an absolute duplicate service of that offered by Key Search?

http://www.webdesigninkfish.co.uk/website-optimisation.php

http://www.keysearchconsultancy.com/services/search-engineering.php

That seems odd to me.

Thanks Mr Inkfish - but the bottom line is you have taken money from our company credit card without authorisation.
I have reported this to Mastercard who informed me your company has a number of similar activities and reports being investigated by them at the moment. Strange how this can be when at the end of the day its Ink Fish on the statement. I did try to call yesterday and the phone message asked me to call to another number. I am sure Mastercard alongside myself will inform the Police. The IT industry does not need people like this opperating. Thanks and goodbye.

It's hard to believe that they are not affiliated when Inkfish Creative is registered to the sister of the managing director of Key Search.

I would say they are very much affiliated, especially given that Inkfish are taking payments illegally in the same way that Key Search were.

"in no way affiliated with Key Search Ltd" ? Then why does Dan Carney's Linkedin page say that he is "Manager at Inkfish Creative".

I think you're telling fibs!

For those who don't know, Dan Carney is/was the managing director of Key Search Ltd.

Crooks!! In January, I paid Key Search £690.00 to optimise my company website and they did nothing and we were unable to contact them! When I checked through a credit search, they had not been trading for about 6 mths. In July I received an email saying that Ink fish(Incorporated in May) had 'acquired' the Key Search data base. On the same day they took £238.00 using the same credit card details (which, yes, until you cancel your card they can carry on doing!)
I have the local Police here as I email, writing a statement. I also have informed trading standards in Stockton on tees. If you Google 'Key Search and Daniel Carney' and 'Ink Fish and Daniel Carney' you will see they are one and the same!

Keysearch get a -100 for overall rating and customer service from me.

Good news, if you request and  fill in that simple disputes form from
the bank and explain your situation to your  credit card company  :
you can get back ALL of your money.

Large or small amounts.
Your bank will attempt to retrieve the money from Keysearch's bank.

My bank asssured me that if you contracted Keysearch
to fulfill a job during the entire year...you can still apply
for a refund any time within that...

Dear kandyl,
<br/>I share your view of Keysearch.
<br/>Good luck with your claims.
<br/>
<br/>If paid by Card you can claim from your card company.
<br/>If direct debit, you can choose to go small claims court.
<br/>
<br/>The other issues re FTP breach, website destruction and virus,
<br/>I am not up to date on.
<br/>
<br/>I design my own websites and I was having kittens
<br/>about letting Keysearch have access to my websites.
<br/>My gut feeling said 'no... I don't trust them'.
<br/>
<br/>I was not sure why I was having the sweats...
<br/>but when my salesperson left, unnanounced
<br/>I knew it was going downhill.
<br/>
<br/>
<br/>I would reccommend striking while
<br/>the iron is very, very hot.
<br/>It is smoking hot at the moment.
<br/>
<br/>If you also feel it is a police
<br/>matter then you also have that option.
<br/>Other people are doing so and as
<br/>I understandthe more people report Keysearch.
<br/>the more the Nottingham police have to work with.
<br/>
<br/>The best of luck!

Good question....to protect your website you need some fairly standard information.I hope this helps... 1/ Your proof of ownership of your website domain.(eg if someone else buys it for you they can run off with it or demand a fee to return it to you)*It's always best to buy the website name (domain) yourself withyour own name and address from a reputable domain seller.This way the domain will always be yours.**You need to know when your domain is renewable so that you can pay it and keep your domain or it will be bought by someone else or lapse.2/ Your passwords for FTP download
<br/>(so you can get into your website and make alterations or updates)3/ Your username for FTP download.(so you or your designer can get into your website and make alterations or updates).Cheers, Ukgent.

<br/>during the entire process.
<br/>
<br/>It really is a matter of blind trust
<br/>with SEO companies as often you can not

<br/>Unless they send you secreenshots or images
