Tried to speak with Andy but stated he would only communicate by email ? I explained I wanted to set up lessons for my daughter and just wanted to discuss the lessons and some reassurance as a father regarding the instructor as she was alone in Birmingham at Uni. Started to communicate briefly on email and then just stopped replying and absolutely REFUSED to talk on the phone very suspicious behaviour!

I had my first lesson and at the end of my lesson instructer told me he'll be on long holidays ! Such a WASTE of time and money !!

The person I dealt with is an excellent instructor: he motivates to improve yourself, e.g. after a bad manoeuvre he will say "Hmm, you can do better than that" in such a way that you really want to try again and get it right. Moreover, he gives lots of valuable advice: from buying a car, insurance, road tax to tips that will stay with me for the rest of my driving life, e.g. if you are stuck driving out onto a very busy road then making eye contact with oncoming drivers will mean they will stop and let you get out. Also, he is a really nice person and I will miss our interesting conversations and his quiet, dry sense of humour! BIG THANK YOU to him!

This driving school is a joke! They’ve basically robbed my daughter of money with their so called driving lessons. She drove with Andy, the company’s owner and he was useless! He never hardly taught her anything, he wouldn’t let her drive by herself, he kept using the dual control constantly , even though she can drive, he used to talk most of the lessons about things completely irrelevant to the lesson, he prolonged the chats so the driving was limited, he kept grabbing the steering wheel, he was rude, ignorent, obnoxious and a terrible instructor and my daughter is so angry she wasted 15 lessons with this instructor because she wasn’t aware he was ripping her off never having any lessons before, she was unaware he wasn’t meant to be teaching her like this and eventually realised and never had anymore lessons. She shoild if demanded a refund for all the time wasted and money driving with this horrendous driving school and instructor. If any one is thinking of using them, please don’t, you’ll be disappointed and not learn anything. Sadly they’re still allowed to carry on this charade!

Andy 1st driving school seemed like a decent company. Having sent my daughter for lessons with them i could be more wrong. The instructor said he only operated 2 hour lessons as this was quicker. At first i thought great. When after a few lessons i asked my daughter how is was going she mentioned that the instructors drives to a location for her to begin driving. Then drives her home. I basically paying an advanced taxi fare for his time. For her 2 hour lesson I’m lucky if she close to 1 hour driving. on top of that he pauses her lessons to fill up on petrol and she doesn't get the time back and some occasions asked her to avoid revving the engine too much as he didn't have much petrol in the car! He couldn't organise a drinking party in a brewery often late, late notifications of lessons. Often unprofessional in the way he spoke to her as a new driver. Then when i complained they said she was rude!!! Avoid at all costs.

I have put off learning to drive due to an anxiety disorder but in August 2018 due to health and work reasons decided now was the time! At 47yrs old and with no driving experience at all from the 1st lesson Saj my instructor put me at complete ease, boosted my confidence and made me believe I could do this! He made learning very easy with his years of experience and knowledge even taking time to make little sketches of maneuvers which helped immensely. So within 2 short months Saj had taught me to drive, helped me pass the theory test and ultimately pass my practical 1st time!!! I can't thank him enough! I've now been on the road since 25th September and my life has completely changed for the better. Thanks Saj!

Driving school employed a very professional and helpful instructor by the name of Ibrar. Spent not a long time with him but learnt a lot of stuff in that time which ultimately helped me pass. Would definitely recommend to a friend ! Thanks !

I am pleased with my driving instructor, he always checks that the date and times of my lesson are ok and that I am still available. I feel like I have learnt a lot and I am getting a lot of driving done, so I am improving quite quick. I really enjoy these lessons and I look forward to them. I would definitely recommend.

Had my lessons with andy 1st and was made at ease with my instructor who then got me through my test and passed first time, thank you.

Haven't even started lessons took 2weeks to book then phoned us and his tone was disgusting the way he spoke to my son made my son feel very anxious about taking lessons , for someone that's never driven before and was feeling very nervous his phone manner didn't put him at ease . Would not use this company again needs lessons in how to speak to customers properly. Thankfully it hasn't put my son off driving gone for a different company who are fabulous

I chose this driving school as i had seen many good reviews and it was popular in my area, however it was the worst decision I ever made. I did not feel comfortable at all with my Instructor and felt intimidated. I had not booked my tests until a whole year passed by, even though I felt I was ready so a lot of money was wasted Andy1st also had a guarantee on their website that they would pay for the next test if I had not passed, however they did not live up to that. Would not recommend this driving school to anyone.

I took lessons with Andy's 1st driving school back in January of this year. Everything seemed fine and after 19 lessons I felt I was ready to take my test. Having booked my test,I ended up changing the test date THREE times all because my instructor didn't communicate with me very well about his availability. When I said to him I wasn't happy about this he then told me to find another instructor! My second instructor from this company had a different car who also taught me different maneuvers which confused me and ended up costing me more money. On my test day my instructor called me to say he couldn't come to test centre as his car's wing mirror had been damaged. The company couldn't offer a replacement car and so I had to miss my test. I asked for compensation for my test but they refused and made excuses saying that my instructor told me that it was a "risk" to take my test on that time of day as he had another test before mine. He never mentioned this to me when I originally booked my test. They told me to find another driving school. So I ended up losing my test money and had to look for another driving school which has cost me more money. Don't waist your time with Andy's1st. They are happy to take your money but they are not willing to help you if there are any problems. They should be more professional and think about their clients.

My boyfriend booked 5 lessons for my birthday. On my birthday they turn up and the lesson goes great. The instructor books a second lesson for the following week. On that day he messages to say he will be 30mins late. He then fails to arrive at all and sends a message to say it's out of his area were I live and I will have to fine another instructor. Why the hell didn't he say that before because now he has taken the money for the 1st lesson and I have to have the same 1st lesson with another instructor. First driving lesson experience turned out to be a huge disappointment. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I recently had 8 lessons with this company, and when booking with them they prided themselves on offering a "Full one hour lesson" to its students. However, it soon became apparent that this was not the case. I went and booked the package deal of 1st 5hours for £50 which was built for beginners who have never had lessons before. On my first lesson I was told I would need 1.5 hours as I would not be allowed to drive from my pickup destination onto the main road and I would need to be driven to a quiet area, this was the same for the way back also and was the case for my 1st 2 lessons. To my surprise the extra half hour that the instructor requested to drive me to an area and back home had come out of the £50 I had paid for the supposedly “Full 1 hour lessons” so I had lost a whole hour of my £50 just so the instructor could drive. Once I had completed the full 5 hours of the package deal I went on a pay by lesson basis as the instructor told me he predicts I’d be test ready within 15 lessons – come my 8th lesson I was nowhere near ready, it seemed like I was doing the same things over and over again, hadn’t even touched parking / road manoeuvres or discussed what test centre I’d be going to and the routes I should familiarise myself with. Another issue was availability, my instructor was quite open with the fact he had a second job so this took up a lot of time, he also prioritised students who were close to their test ( great for them but no help to me) so if I wanted a slot on his diary his response would be “would have to check with …. To make sure they don’t want it as they need to prepare for their test” .. overall shocking, and I would never recommend to anyone!

This driving school has appalled me. The instructor I learnt with did not teach me a vital component of the test, the emergency stop. I failed my test because of this and the driving schools director was rude and unapologetic to me. The teacher lied his way out of it and made up all sorts of things to make me look bad. They called me at late hours of the night (11pm) and always took smoke breaks during my lessons, overcharged and LIED!
Worst school ever, do not go here, don't even be tempted - unprofessional and dishonest
