Very pleased with this well made toaster. Ideal for the small kitchen.Toasts bread and bread rolls evenly and according to the John Lewis salesman 'never had one returned'. Two comments - the numbers on the body of the toaster related to the browning control are very faint and not easy to see. Also the end panels are not 'cool sided' and as such become and remain hot after use but not dangerously so. (read more)

Agree with the above, but it has packed up at 2 years old! There is a device which ensures, for some reason, that it does not stay down unless it is turned on at the wall, and as of today it doesn't stay down whether turned on at the wall or not, and it doesn't get warm even if you hold it down. I've switched working fuses around, but this toaster is dead! Fortunately our old toaster was still in the garage and on putting them side by side I am struck by what a neat little toaster this Kenwood one is. But it don't do toast any more......
