“Great gift, great service”

★★★★☆

written by BJohnT on 12/05/2013

The Blueberry Crate went down a storm for Mother's day; very nicely presented and good produce. I was contacted within 24hours of ordering because they wanted to send me the best quality plants and those in stock were not looking great. I think there was a delay of perhaps a day, but the point is they proactively kept in touch to make sure I knew where my order was.

“Great order & delivery, better care instructions”

★★★★☆

written by on 10/04/2013

This was the second order I've placed and as with my previous order, the order and delivery process were excellent. This was a mothers' day gift for my Mum who loves her garden and grows a lot of her own fruit and veg. Having previously bought her a blueberry bush which has flourished, I decided to send her a pomegranate tree. She was delighted with how the gift arrived, beautifully packaged (with environmentally friendly packaging), however she was concerned that the care instructions said the tree needed to be grown inside a heated greenhouse, which she doesn't have. I was quite upset as the online description didn't give any indication about the special care required. I spoke to Customer Support who reassured me that the tree would be fine outside in a sheltered spot. A happy Mum again! Hopefully this will prove to be the case and, although we don't expect a lot of fruit given the UK climate, a lovely tree should give my Mum a lot of pleasure. Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback we are sorry if our instructions were not as clear as they should have been, we simply suggest that Greenhouse growing will encourage better crops and apologise if this led to some confusion. We will be looking over this particular set of care instructions to ensure that it is clear that it is beneficial but not essential for the plant to be grown in a greenhouse. We are however delighted that you Mum was in the end happy and can look forward to growing her tree in the garden.

Kind Regards

“Great different gifts”

★★★★☆

written by on 15/03/2013

Have ordered gifts on 3 occasions to date...good website with accurate description of gifts. Love the packaging. Great response by receivers of gifts. Only gave 4 stars as last order let down by courier - not clear why as previously courier delivered as expected. Due to delay plants a little weary, however fed this back with immediate response from company with instructions re further care of plants and offers to replace if don't improve...plants did, so clearly just the delay in delivery affected them. Great customer service so despite last experience not being as high a standard as first two (less of first impression by receiver) have no hesitation in using again. Great unusual gifts...especially fruit plants for any jan makers out there! Will give 5 stars if next delivery works out as first two!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we are incredibly sorry for the delay in your order reaching the recipient, 99% of our orders are delivered on the date they should be but occasionally there are delays and we will always do what we can to ensure swift delivery and obviously rectifying any damage that might have been caused to he plants as a result of this delay. We will be working hard as always to try and win back our 5* status with you as previously achieved.

Kind regards
Sally

“Great gifts, well packaged”

I purchased the medlar package - a small tree and a jar of medlar jelly. I ordered 10 days before Christmas and they arrived within 4 days of ordering on the day I had requested for delivery. they were attractively packaged and made super presents, perfect for difficult to buy or adults. Perhaps the "tree" was a little smaller than I expected, but only criticism that I can think of.

“Wine and vine”

★★★★☆

written by on 25/02/2013

Reading that it had to be opened no earlier than 2 weeks before planting, I ordered it to be delivered on 20 December as it was a gift for Christmas Day. It arrived a week before that - and I was lucky that a neighbour took it in. I had taken the day off work on 20 December so I was rather irritated. I rang up and was reassured that it would be OK for Christmas Day if I kept it in a cold shed. The gift went down well and the wine was very good. My friends have told me that the instructions say they can plant it out in March so they are keeping it in a cold shed till then. I would have liked to have known this before I purchased it.

Fig tree arrived well and survived the few days it was left in the crate before Christmas. Nice packing, jam looks good too. The tree has already start to sprout, so it definitely works. Have already recommended the site to several others.

“Quick and Quirky”

★★★★☆

written by sjharrison on 14/01/2013

Recommended by my partner as a present for my plant obsessed mother, the gift was perfect and elicited a very positive response - she was delighted with her Medlar and the jam. Delivery was swift, the packaging was very smart, although the straw did get all over the place. We will be ordering a gift for our selves or for others in the future, and I think that is probably the best reflection of my feelings about the site. I know it was on the box, but not on the email, but I didn't notice the 'live plants - keep cool' warning on the box until I wrapped the present a week after it arrived! Our house isn't that warm, so no harm done, but there could have been!

I will be returning to you through out the year for my great gift ideas,we are amongst the many hoping to move this year & we love our garden,so we might treat ourselves shortly. Thank you once again for all your help & advice & a Happy new year to you all.The only thing i would have liked to have known before i made my purchase was european delivery and the cost. “Great gift for the in-laws!”

★★★★☆

written by Skking on 10/01/2013

I stumbled upon GG by accident and I'm so pleased that I did. I sent the herbal tea set to my boyfriend's parents as all I know they like is yoga and tea.. So this hit the spot! The box impressed, the plants looked a little ragged but given its mid winter, that's to be expected, the tea bombs looked great also. Alround a good surprise. Thanks GG, I'll likely be sending more gifts in the future. The staff were very helpful too as I misspelled my email so didn't receive a confirmation email. When I popped them an email to ask to resend the confirmation, they did so within 24hrs. Maybe the double email confirmation field would be a good addition to the website.

“Ruby Red Rose Bush for a Ruby Anniversary”

★★★★☆

written by markseddon on 04/10/2011

Ordered without a hitch online for a good price. The rosebush was delivered, on time, well packed with straw, in a wooden box along with the champagne. The wooden box had then been packed in a cardboard box clearly marked as live plants and that it should be opened immediately. The rose bush was in fine condition and the champagne was quite tasty too. All in all, no complaints whatsoever, a well presented and unique present for this most auspicious of occasions.

I have been a customer of The Gluttonous Gardener for just over 2 years - they always get my gifts delivered on time to the right address and are a pleasure to deal with, very easy to order on their website or on the phone. Might like to see a couple more images of the plant being sent but overall the recipients are always delighted with their gift which is the main thing.

My daughter bought me 2 vines from your this approx. 2/3 seasons ago. Both are type Vitis Vinefera. 1:White Pheonix, 1: Red Muscat Bleu. The white one has produced several small bunches approx.pea size, to date nothing from red one. Should the whites grow larger? Are these okay for consumption? Also any tips for further fruit growth? We live in Preston Lancashire not the warmest part of this country!
