Items ordered 3 weeks before Christmas still not arrived. When I called customer services were extremely rude, told me they can’t say when order will arrive, they can’t be expected to keep up with demand and they are sure other companies have the same problem

“Very poor quality and value”

My mother, who is elderly and can't go out to shop, bought a bracelet online from Shipton & Co. It cost her £600. It was a gift for me. I wore it twice and it began to unravel so I took it to a jeweller in Brisbane. He looked at it closely and informed me that it had already been repaired (even though it had been sold as new) and was actually hollow and therefore almost impossible to repair. I am told by Shipton's that the bracelet is 'hollow machine-woven and pressed'. That means it contains less gold and is actually very thin and light. In addition the two 'pressed' parts are easily split during normal wear. Shipton's can't repair it - it can't be repaired, they can't replace it as it is out of warranty - I live in Australia and couldn't return due to Covid restrictions. I understand that the bracelet now costs £900 . Date October 2023

Great Stores especially Bowness store but ordering online is terrible...2 out of 3 purchases have been a disaster...I ordered an item in stock..£345. No contact no confirmation..3 days ago I receive an email telling me they cannot deliver as the item is out of stock...seriously they have my money for 3 weeks!! Can I get hold of them NO. Emails calls no response....still our of pocket...BEWARE..CUSTOMER CARE IS NON EXISTANT...

“Rude customer service ”

I called to check delivery status I was told why I called again. The order takes longer than 7 to 14 days to arrive. I had forgotten to add free gift. I was refused and told automatic free gift of chakra stones was sent. But I never received one. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I request the senior management to make customer service friendly helpful and polite. They products are good. Please improve customer service.

Christmas present refunded without any warning or explanation 2 days before Christmas. No reply to emails and no one answers the phone. Customer service is non existent! A disgrace of a company.

“utterly useless ”

Ordered 3weeks ago took my money within 1 day no goods have arrived. Tried phoning email all you get is answer phone and emails ignored. Have applied for a refund not holding my breath so might have to contact my bank to get them to get my refund .Terrible company avoid like the plague.

“Utterly Useless Retailer”

Order from this company at your peril. Your money will be taken quickly enough but that’s where the efficiency ends. Orders take AGES to arrive - don’t believe the 7-10 days claim. Online contact forms go unanswered. Phone calls to the published number go unanswered. Post on social media and you have a better chance of being acknowledged- why they prefer their failures to be discussed on a public forum is beyond me. Now I wish to return the item as it’s not good quality. Their website advises to call the same number and yes- you’ve guessed it- they don’t pick up. How they are still in business is a mystery. I suspect they rely on folk just giving up and keeping items they don’t want but have paid for. Shocking company. Wish I’d read the reviews before I ordered.

“One of my three items not received ”

I ordered 2 pairs of silver earrings which I received today. But the more expensive item of gold earrings were not in my parcel, though the invoice states it was. I've tried twice to call the customer service but it just goes to answer phone. I've left messages to call me back. Nothing. Tried emailing but wants one of those kooky muddled up number and letter codes. Tried three times but it just gives another one. Given up in the end. I've bought other items in the past with no problem. I'd certainly think twice in the future about using this company. I'm tempted to package the whole lot up return the items and demand a full refund.

Order. Confirmed by email 5 - 7 working days `delivery.` And pigs might fly! No delivery. No reply to emails. No reply to telephone calls. No reply to request for a refund. Just a money making machine! Forget them.

“Terrible customer service”

If you use this company you will get no help if anything goes wrong with the order. My mother ordered a Pendant back in November for a friends 80th birthday, she received a bracelet. We have rung Shipton's on numerous occasions, left messages on the customer service answer phone (which I have since been told is not monitored) rung the sales line and had promises somebody would call back (and they don’t). Have emailed on three occasions and had no reply.. All we needed was an update. We finally received the correct item on 31st December (6 weeks after ordering and after the birthday). Would never use again... Dreadful service.

“A shockingly poor company”

Ordered a pair of earrings online which eventually arrived. Unfortunately, ordered clip-ons rather than post and rang their careline to ask about returning them. Their answerphone was full so I rang Sales who advised that someone would ring me as soon as possible; no one did. Rang careline again two days later, this time recorded a message asking for their returns policy. No one got back to me. Having read the appalling reviews this company is accumulating and being highly pragmatic, I have decided to draw stumps, accept the obvious and will buy a silver chain to make a necklace out of one of them. Advice to prospective buyers, avoid like the plague!

“Rubbish customer service??”

I ordered earrings+free gift nearly 4weeks ago as a Christmas present now Dec 22nd still not arrived. Unable to contact customer service to query delivery, phone line problems. Twice spoke to peaple on order line who said would email customer service. Still waiting for some one to phone me. This company does not deliver, do not use them as like me you could be waiting for an order that does not arrive!!!!

“Wrong address ”

I ordered a pendant for my sister. I filled in the order form correctly; I even looked up her postcode. They sent the pendant to me. I have no immunity, so going to the post office is not possible. Thanks Shipton's for making Christmas even worse.

“No customer service”

I ordered some earrings for my mother and asked that they be delivered direct to her (she lives 200 miles away and is shielding due to Covid-19). I received an email confirming the order and the correct delivery address. The earrings were however sent to me, not her. I opened them and they were passable quality, but nothing special. I then had to post these to my mother, which involved a 30 minute wait at the Post Office due to xmas queues. I have emailed Shipton twice asking for a refund of just the postage I paid and the postage they charged me. There has been no reply, it seems they don't care once they have your money.

“Great service despite the awful reviews.”

8/12/20 I placed an order online for some earrings I’d had my eye on for a while. I received a 25% discount and the option to select a free gift. I was delighted with these added perks! I then stumbled upon all the bad reviews online and was then nervous and apprehensive about my order. So the next day I called the customer services in birmingham and was reassured that I would receive my items in 7-14 days. I then received a further call a few days later to say I would have my items by Saturday 19/12-20 at the latest. I was still a little nervous about receiving my order after reading reviews of people who hadn’t received items after months of waiting!! 17/12/20 - My order arrived today. I was so relieved and the earrings are gorgeous. Very pleased. But I didn’t receive the silver sparkly stud earrings I’d selected as my free gift but a stone bracelet which is good quality for a free item. So not really disappointed. Overall a great service and experience from start to finish, and items arrived well within time for Christmas!! Many Thanks!!

“Shipton & Co Nonexistent Customer Service ”

I ordered 3 sets of earrings on behalf of my wife to take advantage of their 3 pairs of earrings for £50. I also ordered the free gift sparkle studs. It was my first order with them so I was a little inept with their order process. The discount was not given and two out of the three pairs of earrings were not quite to the scale depicted in the catalogue, so we decided the best thing would be to telephone and cover the issues on the phone. I got through to the order line who transferred me to the customer service team - or rather to their line which eventually cut off. I tried again and asked for a call back which I was assured I would get 3 days later I called again. I said I'd called previously and had been promised a call back. I was told the customer service team work through their list and there would be no benefit in leaving my details again as I WOULD get a call. Guess what? Meanwhile I wrote to the company addressing my letter to Customer service. My original call was over a month ago and my letter was over two weeks ago. I so wish I'd ordered on my credit card and not my debit card as I believe I could have just asked the Credit Card company to delete the transaction, I don't think I have the same freedom with a debit card. So, I can't get through on the phone, I can't get a response by actual mail and of course filling in a contact form is no good either. What can one do short of instructing a solicitor? My wife likes some of the products - I now despise the company.

I felt compelled to write a review after ordering from this company before seeing the reviews on this website, which then made me worried my purchase wouldn't arrive, despite having being told I would have it next day. I had phoned them up to ask how to expedite delivery, as there wasn't that option on their website. They asked me what I wanted to buy and told me how much it would cost for delivery They then told me I could chose a free gift (like sterling silver earrings) and have a very generous and very unexpected discount as it was my first purchase. So, ultimately it cost me less than the displayed price of the gift to get free earrings and expedited delivery. I ordered the gift late Monday morning and they arrived the next morning before 10am. And the gift (earrings) l looks beautiful. There isn't another pair of earrings like them for sale anywhere in the UK on the internet that I could find. (I had looked to see if there was a company selling something similar that guaranteed a quick delivery.) So, my experience with them has been fantastic. I would say, phoning them up and checking delivery options worked out well for me. To the company, I would say, put the speedy delivery option on your website. We customers feel more comfortable paying for stuff online, on a secure payment page, rather than giving out our credit card details over the phone to a company we have had no dealings with and have never heard about before. The only criticism I could make is that the photo showed the butterflies as bright blue, but in reality they look more green blue to me.
