The Sony CyberShot DSC-S70 is an excellent never fail camera. Easy to handle. Super-super lens. Allows photographer total setting control from ASA to aperture and shutter speeds. Multiple print choice BW/Color etc. But no parallax compensation for close ups. Overall one of the best digital cameras made.

Sony CyberShot DSC-S70 - I've owned this camera for almost four years and I can't say enough about its quality. The pictures are excellent and the many features are easy to use. The macro (close-up) function is the very best I've ever used! The amount of detail you can get from this camera and Carl Zeiss lense is truely amazing! If mine ever breaks, I'm going to buy the exact same camera again!

I bought this camera a few years ago when it first came on the market, it was one of the 1st 3 Megapixel Cameras. I have taken thousands of pictures with this camera and most have been of high quality, only a few have had focusing issues. I found the quality of the digital zoom was poor and now have this disabled in the camera menu, The only other badpoint was the supplied 16MB memory stick as it only holds around 10 hq pics.
Overall it was a good buy and is still functioning well, and even com ...

This is truly a great camera! I have competed in photo contests in Japan, Napa Valley, Canada and other places with a professional medium format film camera, and I like this DSC-S70. I have had it for over 2 years. It has lots of buttons and switches all over it but it was pretty easy to get fancy with it. For point and shoot it's child's play and gives very sharp and well-exposed images. The special effects such as solarising etc are toys but that's true for all other brands. If you reall ...

I have found the Sony DSC-70 digital camera suitable for home and professional photographers. Easy to use and comfortable too. Very wide range of abilities, with amazing night shots (came from military technologies). Sits comfortably in the hand with easily reachable controls. The only one thing I would wish to improve - make the zoom control somewhere at the rear instead of on the lens. Another thing might be improved too - make the user manual more conprehensive.
Also I would appreciate it if ...

This is my third digital camera and by far the best in size, picture quality and versatility. I use it for family pictures, hobby and business. I have compared its photos side by side with Nikon 950 and it flat out performs it. Its sophisticated enough with manual settings for me to use in place of my 35mm film camera at the same time simple enough for my 3 year old to use.

I bought this fine camera to replace my low res Mavica for our cross country trip. We took over 1100 pictures and transferred them to a laptop with the included usb cable. My wife & I are non-professionals and I think we deleted less than 30 pictures in all. This camera will be with me for a loooong time. Goodbye to the developers and the stacks of picture albums - I think the DSC-S70 has already paid for itself.

Digital photography is far from reaching the maturity level of film, and there is no perfect digital camera available. The Sony DSC-S70 is clearly one of the best in the world, and has taken most of the pictures I've posted at www.fototime.com (use the guest login of marshallg2000@yahoo.com to view my pages).
The photographs of flowers and the coins demonstrate the unbelievable macro focusing capability of the camera. It takes remarkable close-ups. I'm very satisfied with the quality, you can j ...
