We employed John & Amanda Treagust as letting agents,we met them and reguarly exchanged emails with them over aperiod of 7 months. It appears we were mislead, rents charged were higher than we were led to believe, repairs were not carried out and we were overcharged for any additional services or facilities provided by them. We are currently owed rent and deposits collected on our behalf from tenants. We have had to arrange cleaning of the property ourselves and have had the locks changed... (read more)

Abritel are part of the HomeAway Holiday Rental Group. John and Amanda Treagust of Costablancalive advertised my property on the HomeAway group websites for rental as well as the Costablanca site without my permission. I contacted the HomeAway legal department and asked them to remove my property from their site, my solicitor contacted John and Amanda Treagust and informed them that they were breaking the law and threatened legal action. Hello, I made a reservation in Los Dols, Villamartin, Torrevieja, and costablancalive via HomeAway, John and Amanda were Treagust agents with whom I have treated since I resulted in the payment I have not at all new and I think I was swindled me to.Abritel have removed the house from its site but does not give information on the reasons.
do you know if the Spanish authorities are aware of these frauds?

You wouldn't happen to be the owner of 33 calle le levante, Los Balcones, Torrevieja, Spain, 03189. If so we booked this villa for the 21st July for 10 nights and paid the Treagusts in full. We understand we would have to repay but it would be helpful as we are now struggling to find alternative accomodation.

Hi, I feel both sad and angry that so many people like ourselves were taken in by the smooth talking [names removed]. We have lost money and personal items from our home which we unwisely trusted to them. If anything I am more upset about innocent renters and holidaymakers who will trust them in the future so we need to track them down and put them out of business. If I can help those taking legal action just help but the Spanish legal system finds it hard to respond to cases like this, for unknown reasons.

Hi Frank they don't stop do they heard they have constantly set up new sites to be taken down and are again on the move but I've also heard a few people are looking for them to comment on tv shows also so watch this space how dare they live there lifestyle through others hard work.

Do not book with costablancalive.com or .eu [name removed] is a con man and a swindler, he does not pay his staff or the owners of the properties he lets, he even had properties on his books that were purely up for sale and he used them as holiday rentals for his own gain.
He is now living in the Mojacar area in Almeria, anyone with a letting or estate agency in this area be warned. he was forced to close his other website villasbyphone.com when people that were owed money found out it...

This review is factual as i am one of the property owners that is owed a substantial amount of money by [names removed]. They house hop to avoid people they owe money too. The Fraud squad and Spanish authorities have been made aware of thier activities.

I have commenced legal action against John and Amanda Treagust for non payment of rent and the retention of the keys to my villa. When information gathering I found that John had advertised my property on other sites than Costblancalive without my permission. Beaware of using the services of John and Amanda Treagust,trading under the name of Costablancalive. I am owed approxiamately e4000 in addition they have left my villa in a disgusting state and have not returned the keys although having been asked on numerous occasions.
I have commenced legal proceedings to recover the monies owed to me and would suggest that some/all of the numerous people owed money by these people take similar action.

Advice to anyone thinking of doing any type of business with this company in Spain - DO NOT GO THERE! Please be careful, I am still waiting for over 2000.00 euros from this cowboy company. Have yet to check my house when the tenants leave to the property. Also had to reimburse my tenants their deposit paid to this bunch as it was never returned to them at the end of the tenancy.

Like other comments DO NOT book anything with this Company!!We have repeatedly asked for our £200 deposit to be returned and realise that this is a hopeless cause. On the rare occasion that John actually answered his mobile phone I was fobbed off with excuses and promised the deposit back in 2 weeks. It has never arrived -surprise!

On our arrival to Costa Blanca we were greeted with 'I'd forgotten all about you' and then told that the villa we had booked had been reposessed 19 days beforehand.
