WE visited wistaston manor crown carvery on 30/10/2014.we had our meal about 3pm food was barely warm roast potatoes very hard .the presentation of the carvery was a mess .we realise this is a quieter time of day, but the food should be the same standard what ever time o day. We have had many meals there before and they have been good. Can not believe standards have dropped since a week ago !!!!

We regularly go to the Crown Carvery at the Old Quay in Parkgate, Wirral and have enjoyed the experience. However, recently they have acquired a new carver. Our first introduction to his carving skills was one of horror. The meat was so thin you could see through it like a rizla. Plenty of swarf of the plate and not one slice. Upon complaining, I was told he was in training. Every time we now go, we try to avoid him and his unique carving skills, but unfortunately, on Tuesday 26th August 2014 there was no other option. He had a knife in hand and was on full form carving with his usual razor-like skill. All customers looked on in horror hoping that they would change the carver before their turn; but unfortunately this was not to be and our day was spoilt again. On complaining to the management, I was told I should not have eaten my meal and showed the manager the "evidence" so she could confront him. Upon informing her that other customers would complain, she then took the smart move and moved him away from the meat. I hope I do not have a repeat of this experience on my next visit and will update my review.

My husband and I have a carvery during the week, and when we went today (sunday) we found that the veg had not changed from in the week it was the same old same old, nothing is any different from the week and I don't know how on earth they charge more for a Sunday lunch. The tables are not cleared or cleaned, for people to sit down. When handed plates to get your selection they feel like they have been washed in potato water. There is no organisation . NEED I GO ON! Could there be a training issue?

Easter Sunday lunch we thought we would have a nice carvery and chose The Haywain. We were greeted by the waitresses with friendliness and smiles and they advised us to choose a table, select what we would like to eat, pay and then go up to the carvery. It was 1.00 and less than half full with other diners so serving should not have been an issue. We went with our tickets to the carvery to be faced with a very 'sour faced chef' who said 'tickets', which we gave him and then he screwed them up and put them in the bin. I asked for Turkey and Beef which he sliced off for me and for my partner. My partner had the last portion of cabbage which the chef did not seem inclined to replenish and the cauliflower dish was virtually empty. I asked for some cauliflower and he moved a full container into place. Not once was there a smile, a greeting or eye contact - just a complete atmosphere of 'I do not want to be here attitude!!!'. We felt uncomfortable and sat down at our table to eat our lunch. It should have been a pleasant and enjoyable behaviour but the chef's attitude left us feeling very uncomfortable. If the chef is that unhappy in his job then I suggest that he searches for something that will, at least, put a smile on his face!

I along with my family visited the Bartlewood Lodge carvery near Derby last Saturday evening (17th Nov). Upon entering the premises we were told that the only meat left was Gammon and the excuse given was that they had not been busy in the week so they did not expect many people that night. This is okay if it was a one off but it was the third occasion this has happened which is obviously not very customer focusing. Take my advice if you visit there, take a packed lunch with in just in case.

usually have no complaints with newbridge carvery, staff or cleanliness. but today me and my family visited, 1st we got our table number and went to the bar to order food, the man that served us was more interested in pouring drinks to a couple of regulars that prop up the bar whilst tending to us, which i thought was very rude, as the regular was commenting every time i asked for somthing, which the bar tender thought was amusing. after that we went to sit down passing two waitresses in the middle of a full blown chat about somthing, as they had gone past must of realised they had to say somthing, said a quick hello, before carrying on there chat. at the table, there was gravy wiped over the one end, salt all over the place and gravy splatted all up the wall. i couldnt belive the state of the place as i had never had a problem there before. also the waitresses didnt come to the table once to see if everything was ok, ask us if we wanted a sweet, or anything. the only time the one appeared is when we were on the way out. very let down today. dont no what has happend to the place.

This is restrant is local to me and we have eaten here on nurmerous occations as it is cheap and most often good food, however a recent incodent with our bill which took 4 weeks to recieve and corispondence of complaint then a promise of a discount voucher which has never meterialised as an appology has made me rather cross. In addition the staff all mope around and dont look interested and it sometimes takes 10 to 15 minutes to queue for your food as they only ever have one person calving the meat. So if you attend in a party of more than four don't expect to eat all together as, the wait sometimes means the first peoson to get served has almost finished as the last person sits down. Also the cleaning of tables is not a priority.
