“Great results every time.”

Hair is crowning glory, seen by all, so it is important to us girls. That is why a trip to [name removed] is the best way forward. I am never disappointed, and have used both the Wandsworth and Balham salons now. The staff are very approachable and attentive to my needs, and I always leave feeling happy with the results. I would recommend them over any of the chains, most of which I have tried at some point. Btw the beauty at Wandsworth is also worth a visit. Katie is excellent. All... (read more)

Disappointed. Had requested my hair to be put in curls, and whilst it sat nice initially in the shop by the time she had finished it had began to drop out. It was completely out by the time I got home. Staff were very friendly, and nice shop, however did not deliver on product. (read more)

I've tried most hairdressers in balham and had some ok and one horrid experience that left me in tears for weeks. But I know I've now finally found my hairdressers at last! The colour is beautiful and my cut just great! I can't reccommend this place enough. (read more)

Such a fantastic salon. Its friendly, humble, stylish and of course has Ben Samey who is the best hairdresser I've ever had and I will never go to anyone else again! Nothing about this place is intimidating or stuck up which is rare in London salons I find..the staff address you as soon as you walk in, offer you a drink even if you are just popping in for a consultation, customers are very valued there. An excellent salon, fantastic atmosphere, and very talented stylist - Benjamin Amey! This is the guy to go to if you want a new look, better dye job, or just to have a great time while getting your hair done! I've never had my hair coloured before and I was very interested in getting a blonde dip dye/ombre on my natural brown hair. Ive been going to Michelle Louise Balham since they opened and can only say they are the best salon I have ever been to. They are always professional, always friendly and my colour and cut are the best they have been, ever. Before this salon, I was always unhappy with my hair. Give them a go, highly recommended! i have very fine hair and m blonde highlights i wanted to keep it long but it was in very bad condition after having hair extensions taken out.i expressed these concerns to Ben and he cut it into a lovely style for me and redid my highlights.i am very happy with the results and would recommend him to all my friends. This was my first visit to this salon and Ben was my stylist. Was so happy with my hair he gave my hair a good tidy up and did an amazing dip dye, love it! I visited Michelle Louise in Balham for the first time on Saturday 26 Nov 2011 for a t-section of foils. It was a horrible experience and I definitely will not be returning. Whilst I am not unhappy with final result, I found Natalia (a senior stylist) and her colleague rude and bitchy. I can safely say I have NEVER encountered such rude hair dressers - and I hope never to again. Given Michelle Louise is a local salon in Balham, hardly a leading London salon, it was incredible! The stylist Kimie here is amazing! I am soooooo fussy with my hair but her cut was just perfect. Have now been back to her for my colour and I dont trust anyone with my colour really. Ive not ever had a bad experience here. Like the last reviewer said, the staff are always friendly and always make me feel at ease which I think is part of the reason us ladies like to go to a hair salon, to relax. I love this salon. My colour and highlights are always subtle and complementary to suit my age, unlike some places you go where they do not take this into consideration. I have the chap that works there and I would definitely recommend him. The salon is very tranquil, the wash basins and chair so relaxing, unlike some, and the overall experience is a very pleasant one indeed. I was really disappointed with my visit here - the stylist (a senior stylist) was unable to listen to simple instructions and was rude and dismissive when I tried to communicate what I wanted during the cut. When I told her I was unhappy with the cut at the end and explained why (although I was still willing to pay for her time, and I did) she just argued with me. Had my hair done by Jo and she did a fab job, not only did she correct the mess that my last hairdresser's did, she also took the time to listen to what I wanted and delivered it 100%. She was friendly and chatty and they also make a great cup of coffee. I hate my hair been washed as the sinks always hurt my neck but the sinks were so comfy I could've fallen asleep. Have booked to see Jo again and will happily recommend to anyone in need of some special care and attention. Thanks Jo x (read more)

i looked for salons to get my hair cut in balham, ive had some very bad experiences and was very worried about where to go!
I went in and asked for an appointment that day and they managed to fit me in straight away.
the girl i had, kimmy, was great. she listened to exactly what i wanted and followed it exactly ! she showed me what she was doing all the time and kept me very calm , even tho i must have been a pain

The staff were friendly enough (especially the lady who washed my hair) but I was disappointed with the cut. said it was 'shorter than I was expecting' and the stylist just shrugged. She took of 3-4 inches when I asked for less than one inch!!! Only when I got home did I realise how extreme the chop was - and how horrid! I recently had a cut and colour with Natalia at Michelle Louise. She gave me exactly what I asked for and I could not be happier. The icing on the cake was the young man (I should've got his name)with the golden hands who washed my hair and then massaged my head until I nearly fell asleep. A trip to this salon would be worth it for the massage alone! They were both attentive and lovely which made for a very pleasant experience, thank you. (read more)

Michelle Louise was recommended to me by a friend as I wanted a last minute hair cut before an interview.
I really enjoyed my experience and was thrilled with the cut. Often hair dressers start getting 'creative' with my hair but all I ever want is a sleek, polished look and the certainly delivered.
Two things would have made the experience a 5* one. Firstly the wash basins are a little high so it was slightly uncomfortable having my hair washed . Secondly my stylist wasn't very talkative...

I recently went to this salon after the reading recent good. I booked for half a head of highlights, wash, cut and blowdry and was given a discounted price on the telephone due to a promotional colour deal on at the time(which I didn't know about before calling to book).
I was apprehensive as I have very dark, thick, wavy / curly hair which has a tendency to be frizzy. Twenty years of having highlights has never really provided me with the colour I have wanted as my hair is so dark.

It was my first visit to this salon & I had a lovely experience! I had a half head of highlights, cut & blow dry. Everyone an the salon was incredibly welcoming and professional. My stylist was highly knowledgeable & could offer great advice on colour and how to create more volume for my hair type. I've had my hair blowdried by an assistant there. He was very proffessional and looked after me very well.
He made me feel amazing and all eyes were on me to the event i went to. He took into consideration of what type of event i was going to and what my dress was like etc. For an trainee, i was very impressed by the level of work he was at, the training he must be getting from Michelle Louise must be very impressive.

A boutique hairdresser on the High Street, of high calibre and offering personal, professional service. What a breath of fresh air when we have chains coming at us from all angles. Simply hooked on the Italian produced Devines products they use, my hair has never felt so good, and washing and styling at home, has now become a breeze because of these products. All totally natural, and reasonably priced given that they are chemical free. My hair really knows that this is the case.

I walk past this salon everyday and finally been pursaded by a friend who offered me a 50% off voucher. I was reccommened to see a senior stylist under the name of Natalia. Not only is she understanding but she managed to style my hair eactly to how i wanted. She had a thorough consultation with me asking questions about my lifestlye etc in which she managed to provide a look for me. I recently had my hair highlighted at Michelle Louise in Bahlam and I have since reccomended it to 3 of my friends to the salon. I love the atmosphere and the freindly-ness from staff. My hairdresser Chelsea was very helpful. She had taught me a simple way of blowdrying at home as we all know blowdrying one's hair can be fairly difficult. My hair has never looked so good since visiting Michelle Louse in Balham. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and the stylist listened and offered expert advice. The products that they use are of the highest quality, and I have returned three times since the opening, because I am so thrilled with the results. I would highly recommend them. I had a very bad experience in Michelle Louise, Balham. I asked for a few "natural" highlights and ended up with the whole top of my hair a bright yellow, brassy mess. I was in tears when I got home, and even my husband said it was awful. He doesn't even usually notice that I've been to the hairdressers! As one of the owners of Michelle Louise, I feel I should comment on this review. Michelle Louise pride ourselves on our high levels of customer service and we feel this review is not a fair reflection of our organisation. We have worked hard on building a solid, respectable reputation and have not been given any chance to remedy this situation. We have attempted many times to contact this customer and offer a resolution to this but she has not returned our calls and has by writing this review has only given a one sided account of what happened. This is why I feel I should explain. After speaking to my whole team working that day, I have discovered that this customer was booked in for a t-section of high lights as she requested at the time of booking which only allows 30 minutes. Upon consultation, the stylist discovered she did have long hair that was different colours / tones in different areas from colour that had been applied in the past. At this point, our stylist suggested that a t-section of high lights would not offer enough coverage of colour to fix this but as it was a very busy Saturday she explained that she did not have time to do anything else that day as she had another client directly after this lady. This may have been taking by the customer as the stylist saying \"she had no idea what to do\" but she did not say this. She was simply trying to say that a t-section was not enough to achieve the look the customer was looking for. However, the customer insisted this is what she wanted done. The second stylist referred to as \"rude and bitchy\" was neither and simply came over when asked by Natalia to offer her opinion on what could be done in order to achieve the look this lady was looking for. Both members of staff were professional and polite at all times as they always are. They are both very experienced stylists. When the customers colour was washed and she was unhappy with the outcome of the t-section, Natalia applied a toner and asked the customer if she was happy with this. She then explained to the customer that if she is not happy or realises she is not later down the line, we have no problem in re-applying the colour for her. No complaint was made by the customer at this time and we have had no susequent complaint or contact until this review therefore giving us no chance to address the customers issues. We would not and still do not have any problem in offering this customer a free colour appointment with us so that she is left completely happy with her colour but by not contacting us or replying to our attempts of contact, we feel that this review is only damaging to us and would like everybody else to understand that we always do everything in our power to make every customer completely happy with our service and final results.
