I have read so many reviews like my own story - I too got a good quote for my Blackberry curve which had hardly been used as I changed it quite quickly for an iphone. After sending the phone to them I received a reduced quote due to wear & tear!!! but couldn't be bothered with the hassle of getting the phone back & starting again so accepted the reduced quote. On 12th August I was emailed that the cheque was on its way to me & to allow 10 days for delivery. By 24th August I still had no cheque so sent them a message to tell them this but it is now 30th August & I have had no reply. Absolute con!!! Wish I had reviewed this company before sending my phone to them.

I sent my Samsung Galaxy Ace away with a PROMISED price, even without them assessing it. They said the whole process would take around 2-5 days, and that they were sure to give me the best price. The price they showed was £43.50, so I was happy to send it away. I received an email over a WEEK later, saying I would only get £17.40 due to "Excessive wear and tear" (In all honestly it was a tiny bit of scuffing at the top of the phone, nothing major atall.) - RIP OFF! It was the best price I could find overall comparison sites, so I had to give my phone up because I needed the money. It's been nearly three weeks and they've only just put the money in my bank which will take another 3-5 days. Definitely not worth it, I would get more from eBay! In order to get even a decent price, it'd have to be a VERY new phone - who sells brand new phones anyway?! Do not reccommend!

I have still not got a decent responce and still do not have the money that i am entitled to... company with extremely bad customer service. . I have sent yet another email to inform the company I will be contacting the police... still NO reply..

Sent my phone recorded delivery 8 April, 2013. Cash4phones state they only received it on 17 April. Despite 2 emails to them,no response, and no sign of my money.

First transcation with this company was great. Further transaction was poor. Offered much lower prices and then never received the money even though they claimed to have put it in my bank account! Still waiting for an outcome!!!

I sent my blackberry to them after seeing them on a comparison site they were offering the best deal, I received my offer which was a third of the value, due to extensive scratches, which was rubbish there was only one scratch on the screen and it was not that bad, not to devalue the phone by that much. They then charge £8.95 for its return if you do not accept the offer, (which is written in very small print in their T

Now The quote was ok they said they paid the money into the wrong account but I took a snip of the details a sent them. Rang them monday they said 3 to 5 working days I checked to day they said it will be seven working days as we need to manually process it. I said to them send my phone back they say we no longer have it well I think its wrong to get rid of my phone when they have not paid me in full for it.

i finaly got my money today but had to go through a series of hoops to get my full payment. firstly they halved their first offer with some excuse of damage so stick to your guns on its condition and the price will go back up. next they sent an email about getting my money within five days which i knew was another lie for two reasons 1, from the reviews on here and 2, cause they made a point about blaming my banks speed straight away which is a rubbish point to make. so after waiting 7 working days i called them and as per another review on here my money finaly made its way to me. their offers are certainly the best and you do get your money eventualy but is it worth the panic of being conned? i think not.

These guys took ages to pay and tried to pay much less than original offer for a blackberry curve in excellent news. After asking them to return the phone they agrred a better price then took 14 days to pay They only paid after numerous phone calls Serllers beware

I can quite confidently say that i will NOT be using Cash 4 Phones again. Here's why. The initial process of quoting for the phone recycle was very easy to follow. I send the phone off in the prepaid envelope and picked up an email within a few days. 'excessive wear and tear' - revised offer £44.84 (compared to the £81.00 i had previously been quoted)I called the company back to complain as the Blackberry i had sent off was almost immaculate minus a tiny feint scratch just below the camera lense. How on earth can this be excessive wear and tear? The operator at C4P agreed that this was not accurate and gave me a revised offer of £75.00 After reading comments by other customers,I can only assume this is standard practice by C4P and i would advise to approach with caution. I would put good money on this company offering all their customers considerably less than originally quoted. I will never use this company again!

Having selected this company to recycle my Nokia N95 as they were offering a good price for it, I felt that they might be very good as the return envelope came very quickly - pretty efficient I thought. I duly sent off my phone, with additional earphones, software, computer link and charger, all in 'unused' condition. The phone's two main buttons had slight signs of wear but it worked perfectly. I received an 'offer' of just over their original quote, saying the phone had 'excessive cosmetic damage' and when I chose to 'decline' their offer, they wanted to charge me nearly £5 to send it back. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. - what a rip off! It was only then that I decided to look on the Review Centre website and the comments/review board of 'compare and recycle' where I originally got my quotation from Cash4phones. Both sites were full of comments from people who had exactly the same complaints as I did!! Shame I didn't spot them before. So DON'T use cash4phones unless you want to receive potentially the same treatments as many of us and comparison sites TAKE NOTE. Why not remove this company from your listings and save us all any further pain!

Although i sent a phone of no great value (£14)to be told it was only worth 1/2 the original price offered due to 'excessive scratching' i feel is very harsh, but also to be told that if i regect the offer they will charge me £4.95 to return the phone is a joke. Beware of this company and check T and C before sending anyhting to them.

I sent three phones to Cash4Phones this week, they offered the highest prices against their competitors. Unfortunately as soon as the devices arrived with them they sent me an email halving the value of the devices based on "significant cosmetic wear". One of the phones I sent was a spare phone that had never been used and therefore has absolutely no wear at all, they just used this to swindle me out of my money. When I tried to reject the 'offer' they slapped a £4.95 return charge meaning I had no option but to bend over and take it. Avoid these crooks at all costs

I agree! Avoid at all costs. I sent an HTC desire HD, boxed with everything except the headphones in perfect condition and came back excessive wear and tear. Offer dropped from £107 to £30. Told them to stick it. I'll sell it elsewhere. Wish I'd read the reviews earlier as I wouldn't have tried them

Just to repeat what everyone is saying, this company has a clear business strategy. They offer slightly more for your phone than everyone else on the comparison sites, then reject it for some reason asking for £4.95 to return the phone. This then is followed by an email offering less than the original offer for some reason (screen scratched sounds quite common). Most people will then accept the new offer rather than pay out for returning the phone, meaning that cash4phones get more phones due to the high offer on the comparison websites, but then pay out less after you send it in (more profit for them). After all that the payment then took 11 business days to arrive in my account (email sent 24th April, payment received 9th May). That's a lot more than the 72 hours stated in the email. 192 more in fact. Stick with the other trusted companies and avoid companies with dodgy tactics like these.

After reading these reviews exactly what happened with my iphone. Massive difference in offer compared to quote - nothing wrong with phone. The fact that you do not have to state the condition when you get a quote makes the condition obsolute - as it should just be in working order. Following comments on here rejected quote - day later revised quote saying they had made a mistake and no crack on the back (of course there was'nt). So the ploy.... charge a send back fee hoping people will accept a low quote. On expecting people not to contest they make rely on getting low prices on good phones (despite quoting the highest price to get the business). Only reason not 1 star is they recieved phone, processed quickly and had a good interface. Stick to mazumamobile.com.

iPhone 3G 8gb - £50 offer, I sent it off carefully wrapped in copious amounts of bubble wrap to protect the phone. I received their counter offer today of £28 with them citing: - Excessive scratching on screen - Cracked and Damaged Back Casing There were NO scratches/cracks when I sent the phone, only the normal wear on the back of the phone. Now unless I picked the only bubble wrap that instead of protecting the item, magically damages it with it's "protective" qualities then I wonder who performs these 'quality' checks. Me being the lazy person that I am accepted the counter offer as I can't be bothered with the hassle of paying to have my own possession returned to me, especially if it now contains excessive scratching and cracked & damaged casing! I advise anyone reading this to use a different company who may honour their initial valuation. Then again if you're as lazy as me you wont be reading reviews on the company until it's too late.

still havent recieved my cheque been waiting a week and half and nothing just checked on track your order and was surprised to see i was only getting 30pound when was told i would reciece 51 the phone is resonably new and in perfect working order but cash 4 phones seem to think excessive wear and tear when there are only a few scrtches on the screen which you are going to get with any phone not at all happy with this service the letter said i would reciece my cheque after 48 hours of them recieving the phone, but a week and a half later nothing.

I would like to add to my above comments that I used Mazuma for a less valuable phone and was so impressed by their speedy, no fuss service - take a tip from me and use them next time! I wish I had just stuck to them.......
