“Terrible Experience.”

Would never deal with this company again, customer service is extremely poor, Happy to sell you a product but the after care is simply appalling waiting 2 months to have a simple issue dealt with. A good company is one who has the ability to manage it's customers expectations, this one I'm afraid can't even demonstrate the basic principles of customer care. Rude, obnoxious shop manager.... One to avoid.

I recently bought a set of Bos forks, after explaining about a 3 day trail weekender coming up at end of that week I was told the forks would be with me in time and after some form filling I was contacted by stif  saying he had processed the order and kept an eye on likely despatch time, given a tracking number and I was impressed by the answers given to all my questions!. The forks arrived as expected ( phew) I fitted them and oh my god, what a bit of kit they are!!! Thanks once again Stifcycles, when my account recovers I shall be back to spend some more with you!!

Excellent shop, did everything thing thye could to get the order through quickly and easily.
Delays were from jungle, i was kept informed and told about the delays, i had multiple phone calls with Rob and Craig answering various questions and sometime just a general chat.
The attention to detail in the bike build was excellent, i was a full time mechanic a long time ago and this is my first bike that i havent built myself, i trusted stif and they delivery the goods, perfectly!

“The reason I give this company such a bad review is...”

The reason I give this company such a bad review is not because of the quality of their products, or their deliver times; its because of there appauling customer services.
I recieved an item that i hadn't ordered; it was both a different product of a slightly different price, and in a different colour to what I wanted. I called them to see what could be done about it, failing to see how on earth this particular mistake was my fault. After much deliberation and explanation both on the phone and on email the outcome was basically;-

- sorry, its not our fault, our systemn says that what you wanted.

I was expected to pay for the replacement for the right item to be sent, and pay for the return packaging and postage aswell. Then, after all that, i'd get my refund for the wrong product delivered, and my p&p.

This is absurd!
I would not recommend this company to anyone.
If you do order anything online from them, double check everything, including your confirmation emails, to make sure you will get what you actually ordered!

I've bought bike parts from Stif since 1996, but in 2009 I picked up a
custom build Blur LTc which Rob helped me spec up. The Rock Shox Revelations broke in the shop whilst he was showing me how they operated. They paid for my
fuel to return (200miles) at a later date whilst the forks were swapped for a new
set. The forks broke sometime later, same fault, and went back to fisher
for repair. Recently the Blur frame failed and the maxle snapped on the
same day. Craig has dealt with another return to Fisher a replacement main
frame and build swap as well as a new parts list for a hardtail i'm
building up.

Although the above doesn't sound like praise, and it in a way isn't, its
the way the whole thing has been handled that has made me feel very, very
grateful that I chose to shop with Stif. Doubtless online shops may be
cheaper some of the time, but I wouldn't expect the care and support and
(most of all) riding enthusiasm and knowledge I have received from your
guys from them. Its worthy of big thanks.

Rob did a great job on helping me spec the Blur, it fits me perfectly and is a real flyer. I love every minute I ride it. At the time I didn't know a great deal about the technology and he invested a fair bit of time on the phone advising me. Much appreciated. Lately Craig has given me similar levels of service, has always responded reliably, answered every question quickly and has given similar levels of advise on parts. They make it easy. I am so relieved that on every single occasion I
have had a part fail they have dealt with it swiftly and without even a
shade of quibble. I could have been ripped off on numerous occasions by
now, or had to fight for a decent response as parts have needed warranty
service, and this would have taken something away from the riding
experience.

Its hard to describe the added value I have got from them, and how much I appreciate it.

“I was looking for a Santa Cruz Butcher & a friend...”

I was looking for a Santa Cruz Butcher & a friend recommended Stif. He'd purchased a custom build there previously & was full of praise. I thought I'd give them a call & take things from there. I spoke to Craig who spent ages on the phone with me finalising the spec. I was given the price & a projected time for the build to be completed pending there were no hold-ups in the supply chain. I made a couple of late alterations to the spec via email & then let Stif get on with things. Two weeks later, on time & under budget my new bike arrived at my front door.

I could see that the mechanic had an eye for the small details & the bike was assembled perfectly. The packaging was second to none & all the documentation was present.

In short, I've had a great experience using Stif to supply the parts & build up my bike. I can say without fear of contradiction that this level of service is'nt commonplace.

A big personal thanks from me to all the Peeps at Stif for their help.

I'd been let down by CRC so decided to give Stif a go (I'd been to their old shop in Leeds). Trying to figure out which tyre I should buy was a nightmare so I called the order hotline. The guy knew all about the different types (I'm a bit of a numpty so didn't know if I needed a stick-e or a DTC etc - and what width!). In the end he pointed me in the direction of what I was after (not the most expensive!) - it's just arrived and looks bang on.
I made the purchase at about 2.50pm and it arrived at 9.05 this morning for no cost! Winner! I'll definitely be using them again when I need some mtb specific goodies.
Pros: knowledge, mtb brands, free postage that comes next day!
Cons: not the cheapest, website a bit fiddly
