I went in to look at a bike a few months back ( £20k custom bike)and after two minutes with the salesman walked straight out, not one thing about the place looked honest and the " effing and blinding" and attitude of the staff makes me wonder how they every sold anything to anyone, according to the report they made £175k profit on a £350k turnover so must have been selling absolute scrap. My son bought a used Proton from Autopoint Hipperholme. When he got it home he took it to our local garage for them to check it out. They said it had been in a serious side on accident and was unroadworthy. I bought a Landrover pickup before Christmas 2011. Soon afterwards discovered it had a badly welded cracked chassis. They offered to swap it but whichever alternative I pointed to I was told I couldn't have that one. Instead we agreed a cash contribution to the cost of repairs. This company is trading now as HIPPERHOME AUTOPOINT, Halifax Road, Hipperholm, Halifax. Do not deal with them. We paid a holding supposibly returnable deposit of £100 on mon overphone, to see bike wed, agreed a price of £2500 (advertised at £2795 on Auto Trader). Like idiots paid cash documents to follow next day what a fool i was turns out recorded as a write off no MOT, NO V5. AVOID The staff seemed alright and the car looked good, very clean inside and out. paid for the car, drove it home and parked it in my drive. came back ten minuets later and there is a huge puddle of oil under the engine. i took the car back three times to have it fixed. long story short it needs a new engine along with many smaller faults. only checked them on google after i started to have problems. i have contacts in the local paper and with some of the local mp's i'm going to do what... OK, so I went on the hop to see a car which \"Kirk\" described as in immaculate condition. Upon arrival, I found a large key scrape down one side of the vehicle and some noticeable minor scrapes to the rear bumper. Such a shame people only let you hear one side of a story. We were reccomended to Chequered Flag by Afzal Khan at Kahns of Bradford. We bought a beautifully prepared one owner Land Cruiser, Kirk was a perfect gentleman, very polite and courteous, had the car fully serviced at Toyota Main dealers, a new set of tyres on her and even gave me £50 for fuel!! Kirk gave me £3000 off the car, a full valet, paid for Straus Porsche of Leeds to give it a thorough check over and even lent me a very nice Mercedes CL55 AMG whilst my vehicle was being serviced. after seeing them advertised online I chose a vehicle that seemed very good value and described as showroom condition. After a visit to the dealer I found that the vehicle was far from showroom condition. A large dent in the front, a shabby interior and generally poor quality car. Many of the vehicles were similar in condition. I chose not to proceed with even a test drive. I would suggest anyone thinking of buying shoudl use the RAC or The AA inspection system. (read more)

Be very aware that these operate a very poor garage. Ensure that all the paper work is present and do not take their word for anything. You must pay by cheque and you must have a car inspection by an independant. A lot of the cars they supply are in a very bad state mechanically, though cosmetically perfect. You should avoid. Also look out for their ebay and Autotrader stores and motorbike sales. (read more)

Buyer beware this company is run by Kirk Claus who used to trade as Todmordon Trade Centre, 4x4 Warehouse, etc based in Todmordon.
Chequred Flag is the lastest trading name of Todmordon Trade Centre, the sole Director is Mrs Claus.
He (and the company)have lots of CCjs outstanding but the bailiffs can't/won't do anything he says none of the vehilces he has for sale are not registered in his or the companies names so the Bilaiffs can't take them.

We were genuinely interested in buyng a car and made several visits to Chequered Flag Car Sales however the salesman kept changing the price of the car and the part ex value of our car. When questioned about this and when enquiring about what deal and warranty he could offer he became increasingly defensive. Throughout each visit he acted as though he couldnt be bothered and when challenged over prices became quite aggressive rather than willing to negotiate, as is the job of a salesman. (read more)
