We have just come back from 2 weeks in Luxor. We had 1 week on a nile cruise which was superb and 1 week in Luxor.We were the first flight into Luxor since the demonstrations and were greeted as long lost family, everywere we went people said thank you for coming. There was no problems at any of the temple sites that we visited just friendly happy faces. The second week in Luxor was just the same,yes you were hassled to buy post cards, scarves, books, bags etc. also to go on a nile falucca,... (read more)

We recently had the opportunity to stay in Luxor on a self-catering experience. We chose to stay this time with an English lady and her Egyptian husband who over the past few years have built their own business of flat rentals in Luxor. But this is with a difference. We chose to stay at the Goubli flats on the West Bank of the Nile. They are a short distance from the ferry across the Nile into Luxor. Each flat is light and airy... (read more)
