“A masterpiece of a game”

★★★★★

written by Ronnieufc on 23/07/2015

This game is very simply amazing. The atmosphere is great, you really get pulled into the game with the background music & great attention to detail in the environment. The gameplay is very simple & Is just like most other rockstar games. The story is the highlight of this game, its so emotional, action packed & diverse, that it keeps you entertained non stop in one way or another. This is a must buy, it really is amazing.

“Red Dead Redemption ”

★★★☆☆

written by DaveCorner on 17/01/2011

Red Dead Redemption
Upon hearing that the makers of the grand theft auto series are making a game set in the wild west I got all excited. Waiting for release date was torture and then it arrived and I couldn't get my hands on a copy anywhere until I went to Prestatyn who had a shipload of them. I rushed home ripped open the wrapping and loaded it up. At first glance the game seemed to have everything you could expect from the GTA guys, miles of open world to explore at your own leisure, main tasks and side tasks, the usuall story line girlfrined kidnapped blah blah blah. I had the game completed within 2 evenings of playing!! Yes I put in a few hours each night but I have played every GTA and dont remember finding one this easy. The missions seem very repetitive and not at all challenging. There are many side missions like collect a certain amount of each plant which gets very tedious but I had paid good money for this title so I was going to try and complete every trophy. This was ok until it came to online trophys, I seriously thought that this game had a massive online multiplayer prospect but what I found was the complete opposite. Games like deathmatch or capture the gold are far from fun, the teams are always fairly decided in fact I have been on a team on my own with 4 much higher ranked opposition! Then you have the co-op which just seems to be filled with people rather than helping you take an area or rank up they would rather quite cheaply auto aim kill you when your trying to take on a gang! This game was a massive let down I had high hopes and it came no where near.

“I have said i would recommend to a friend but warn...”

★★★☆☆

I have said i would recommend to a friend but warn them it can get boring riding around for what seems like days trying to find action and following the story will mean you finish the shortish game very quickly.
The graphics are good and scenery also well made some of the characters are annoying and the card games etc you have to play become tedious the money you collect has no meaning really as you can get almost all weapons thru the missions and cant seem to buy better guns than you have already unless you go to every gunsmith in the game.
Overall its value for money but i got bored with it after a while as there was so much waiting around waiting for people to either arrive or looking for animals to shoot to get marksmen ranking.

“I've enjoyed the GTA games for a number of years on...”

★★★★☆

I've enjoyed the GTA games for a number of years on the PS2, they became much the much on the PS3 and Rockstar didn't really add much to them over the years, just different maps (which other companies release as add-ons)

When I saw RDR, I thought it looked kinda fun..

The offline game is not very good, you seem to have to sit and watch the screen alot, while the game explains what to do next (boring for most people, and I'm old).

So I went ONLINE, and found that this is fun (most of the time) but I seem to keep having to find the better weapons, only to lose them again next time i'm killed (which is a pain).
Collecting flowers, plants and shooting bird, rabits, dogs etc, is OK, but an explaination as to what and why is hard to find..

After riding around for what seems like days (the game says I've had over 8 hours online) I've managed to find 3 places where there's some action (gang members to kill)

The graphics are brill, the gameplay is slow and leveling takes it's time..

All in all it's a western version of GTA, which is not what they advertise it as, and can't be played by children unless you want them to see the amount of blood that comes out of a dog when they skin it after shooting it..!
