Upon delivery we noticed parts had been removed off vehicle, unrelated to accident damage area, spare wheel removed, fuel pipe cut, front bumper trim removed , bumper fog lamps missing, theses parts were clearly fitted to vehicle in the photos displayed, we first refused to accept vehicle, Copart driver called his office and we… Read Full Review

“ Car Rendered Useless”

Written on: 09/08/2016 by huxtasj (1 review written)

After my car accident in May 2016, my car was deemed a write-off and moved to storage at CoPart Sandy, by Aviva, whilst arrangements for payout and for me to buy the car back were made. Despite Aviva supposedly putting the car on a Safe Guard program, when I received my car back after paying £990 for it, it certainly wasnt in the condition it had gone there in. The car had sustained only rear-end and drivers side mirror & sill damage in the accident yet now it had been returned to me with a… Read Full Review

I am in communication with my insurance company but the point is, I shouldn't have to need compensation. My car should never have been damaged and had parts removed while in your "care". Compensation is a poor remedy for your incompetence.

This basically mirrors my experience with them when they supposedly "looked after" my E46 after an accident. An my experience was with CoPart Sandy so clearly they are the same up and down the country!

They clearly have no respect for anyones property be it car or motorbike and like you I would never recommend them or use them again.

We have recently been instructed to recover a vehicle sold by Copart, our client has never agreed a salvage price with his insurance company but has had an interim payment, however title/ownership does not pass until funds are received in full from the insurers. Copart refuse to communicate with our client and the insurance company admit the vehicle has been sold in error. Our client wants his car back and we will carry out his request. Hi mbKehoe376,

We are sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations.

The issue you have described sounds like our counter bidding process. This is where the seller has placed a minimum bid, or bid to be approved on the vehicle. If your bid was the highest offer, the seller may have tried to counter bid your offer which you are free to accept, decline and keep your current bid or counter bid and increase your offer.

For more information on counter bidding please refer to our FAQ section.

Please note that we also have fees that are additional to the hammer price of the vehicle, these are listed on our website.

If you’d like more information on this process please contact member services.

Not surprised at all by this. My car was in an accident and taken there by the insurance company whilst I arranged to by the car back from Aviva. Despite the car supposedly being on a Safe Guard Program, they had already smashed off a mirror and stolen one of my alloys and when it was returned to me in this state, it had CatD written on the wind screen when all of Avivas paperwork etc had stated Cat C.

Very dodgy company.

“Copart didn't turn up - twice!!”

Written on: 05/04/2016 by Vargas331 (1 review written)

I sold my car and Copart arranged to pick it up. I called on the morning only to be informed the pick up had been cancelled. They claimed to have called me the day before, but no message left on my mobile. The pick was re-arranged for another day and the driver tried to call me and left a message. I called back - no answer. I sent 2 text messages and a land line number. About an hour later I picked up a message to say that he wasn't going to pick up, since he could not find the address, despite… Read Full Review

“Offered the best price for my old Audi”

My car was nearly 10 years old I had it for nearly 9 years high mileage lots of minor damage and because of the mileage and age really not worth me continuing to spend money on a car that was simply not worth it though it will last at least another 2 or 3 years and was a well looked after car apart from my accident proneness over the last 8 years and inability to park properly. Written on: 24/03/2016 by Asa476 (1 review written)

My lovely MG ZS was a write off after someone drove at me causing me to swerve and damage the driver side suspension. My partner did a speculative search for salvage and a possible recoup of some monies as and this is important, I DID NOT WANT TO INVOLVE MY INSURANCE COMPANY. After a quote of £45, online, I was asked to phone them, which I duly did & spoke to a nice guy called Hamish. He told me he had to "check around" and then after I phoned him back because he didn't, he asked for some… Read Full Review

“Another big company that ripped off the innocent consumer”

Where can I start... Copart has taken over most of the smaller salvage companies in the uk. This American Giant has bought it's bad habits to the uk. Copart is all about making as much money off the consumer as possible at any means!!!!! With its rude unhelpful staff at all it's locations. Incorrect discripstion of vehicles to gain the highest bid possible. It's high buyer fees which does not reflect its level of customer service. Hello,

Firstly we expect that all staff conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times and indeed other feedback we receive supports this approach. We are sorry if you feel that staff have acted otherwise. It is important to note that Copart is a trade only auction and therefore consumers are not entitled to bid. With regards to vehicle descriptions, we make every effort to make sure a vehicles description is as accurate as possible however members must fully research and inspect a vehicle before bidding. When it comes to collecting a vehicle, we do have priority and pre-booked loading which can help save our members time. There is more information about the service on our website. Should you wish to discuss any of the points raised in further detail, please provide more information to us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
