I have been in the motor industry all of my life, started off as a mechanic now i do crash repairs which is what i have been doing for twenty years. Well, where to start they just go round in circles, no customer service, no manners, no true description of vehicles. The first time i purchused a car from Copart was a Ford Focus described as various dents and stratches what a load of rubbish the car arrived and wouldn't even start, so after giving it a full examination we realised after 5... Hello,
We are extremely sorry to hear of this. It is an unfortunate fact that every time a vehicle is moved, there is always the risk that a vehicle could be damaged. In most cases our vehicles are moved without any incident.
Please contact the facility where the vehicle was purchased from If you wish to discuss the matter further. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any further assistance on this forum.

As ever with this company, they just want your money, pay up, pay quickly, WHAT EVER YOU DO, CHECK EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU ACCEPT THE CAR!! because once youve paid and taken its too late!! They wont believe you when you report it! I paid top money for a Peugeot with low miles in good pre accident condition only to find that the spare wheel, jack, brace etc had been stolen, this could be the guys in the yard topping up their wages? I dont know but it happens all the time, VERY annoying and... (read more)

Dear Member,
We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the service you have received at Copart UK.
You are correct when you say ‘check the vehicle’. We always ask our Members to actively view a vehicle and find out as much information about the vehicle as possible before a bid is placed.
We now offer 5 day viewing across all our yards. Just call the facility where the vehicle is located to book an appointment.
Please note that as per our member terms and conditions, It is a Members responsibility to inspect a vehicle prior to bidding and before leaving the yard with the vehicle.
We would like to look into this complaint and ask that you send an email (FAO Sam) to member.services@copart.co.uk with as much information about the vehicle including your member number as possible.
Kind Regards
Member Services

That sounds great, but lets not be fooled by your concern, you cant do anything and your reply (Below) confirms this!!
Following our correspondence we have been in contact with the General Manager of the facility, the Regional Manager and looked at the notes recorded on your Member account on our system.
Whilst we are satisfied with how the incident has been resolved, we also regret to hear of your dissatisfaction. Although we do advise all of our customers to check a vehicle prior to purchase and leaving the yard, we understand that this may not have happened in this case.
As a result we will be publishing some additional guidance for our Members in the next couple of weeks around the importance of checking vehicles. We hope that you continue to find value in our service and we value your continued business.

Where else can you sell a non runner damaged. Copart will collect your vehicle take photos list in their auction if necessary normally sells first time put through 4 auctions and you only pay when vehicle sells £75 you have excellent support from your agent. No more cars you cant sell left on your forecourt able to buy more cars to sell knowing can send to auction if need be. If you want to buy from copart you can view vehicle before you buy and always find a bargain. Copart has over a... (read more)

Hi I am a car dealer mainly dealing with salvage cars (CoPart Chester UK). Contrary to my initial impressions, Copart has made me suffer a severe loss recently. Once I had won a bid on my choice of car (Honda Civic), I was congratulated about how I had also won a bid on a certain Ford Focus. And that now I had to pay a whopping £4200 for it!! A car which I had absolutely not even viewed once, let alone putting it in my watchlist, and now I was to pay for it! I was disappointed with this... (read more)

If you require personal information, I will be more than happy to provide it to you, but of course, that did not work out the very first time I tried so why would it now.
And of course I HAD to agree to pay the useless fine that was imposed on me simply to extort money out of regular copart members. It's not like I was given another choice, was I?. Like many other copart members, I am a car dealer, and the loss you caused me in terms of money & time by blocking my account within 5 hours and forcing me to pay was certainly not befitting for a company such as yours. And OF COURSE you would consider the matter closed now, now that you'd received the money from me for a loophole in YOUR system.... with absolutely NO compensation even offered.
And I can also see how much complaints matter to you and how prompt you are with keeping in touch with customers, as this complaint was lodged more than 15 days back and this is all you could come up with. Gee thanks a lot sherlock.

found 1998 polo on the site, went to see it, damage was accurate, car started and drove as stated. paid about 75 more than i was expecting, was this due to the company bumping up the price, or a bidding war with someone else that wanted it....who knows, anyways, the cars ok, (read more)

Bought a Vauxhall Agila that was falsely presented. They didn't describe the damage accurrately and bumped up the price at the end of the auction. They then charged an extra 216 pounds to my bill as admin costs. They are not cheap,I felt they delibarately mislead and are therefore not worth the risk of buying from. You are better off buying from a dealer. I also believe they also artificialy bump up prices and cause the prices are fake, the previously sold cars appear on the site a few days... (read more)

i am a car trader mainly buying and selling salvage vehicles, i have met more people who have been totally ripped of than people who were happy with copart. Parts stolen from cars after bidding, parts on the vehicles in pictures and description provided but gone once car is delivered. False classifications given, advertised as class D but in actual fact class C. Additional damage to cars that is not in pictures or descriptionS. The thing is that you cannot resolve any issues as you waiver... (read more)

This company has cost me over £2300 due to them stealing parts and damaging the vehicle when recovering it. When I asked about the stolen parts they said I did it. When asked about the recovery damage to the vehicle I was told it was standard practice to damage vehicles while recovering them. Really, I think other recovery companies don't damage vehicles as standard practice. Stay well clear of this company. (read more)

This auction gave false online information for the car and after the sale I was told that according to their Terms and Conditions neither the auction or the seller are responsible for the description of the cars they selling. This is unbelievable for 21th century Britain! More details: On 5th May 2010 I bought an Audi A6 from Copart UK (Who sell used, damaged and salvaged cars) on their Sandtoft auction. I paid £7717.25. It was clearly advertised as damaged Category D and also stated as... (read more)
