I was on a friends motor cruiser moving down river when she started to run into the last of the flood tide (I forget to add an hour to the tide predictions). No problem my friend said there is a pub with landing stage round the bend, we'll stop for the last half an hour of flood, grab a drink and check out the menue for a meal on our return journey (my friend is retired from ships pilot service and has an offshore yacht masters ticket. He is also a qualified Marine surveyor). No sooner had... (read more)

Just moved to Deerhurst and visited our local one Saturday evening just for a drink and to sit by the river . Steve very friendly and very welcoming. Beer and wine good and our foster daughter loved the chickens and ducks. We will be back to sample the food . Thanks for making us feel so welcome when we are such newcomers to the area glad your our local. (read more)

“Brilliant food and barman”

Written on: 24/06/2012

All our family went for Sunday lunch today and it was really nice. The steaks were fabulous and the lamb fell of the bone . My mom, who only eats small potions, had ham egg and chips and it was really nice and plenty of it . My dad struggled to eat the braised beef as its a large portion but absolutely gorgeous . The large half roast chicken dish my daughter had was lovely and the puddings were huge and homemade and very nice . Beer good, cider brilliant . A lovely meal . Barman Steve... (read more)

“Great Beer and Food”

Written on: 03/06/2012 by BristolianRobin

Visited the Coal House Inn Apperley in early June 2012 and had a great time. I recommend the Butty Bach it was a great pint of beer. We also ordered steak on a stone and Braised Beef. The Braised Beef was delicious and my wife really enjoyed the steak on a stone. There was more steak than we could easily manage. The Landlord was friendly and amusing and admittedly could chat for England but he was genuinely interested in whether we enjoyed the meal. Cant wait to go back again! (read more)

Tranquil, charming Pub/Inn situated at the dead end of a winding road, by the River Severn. Lots of outside seating and a lovely place to eat and chat whilst the sun's shining. Limited but nice variety of beers/ales/largers/ciders. Delicious selection of food on the regular menu and specials board. Steak On A Stone is their forte...... other tasty selections make their food offering a cut above your normal pub grub. The Brummie Landlord, Steve is a likeable, lively chap and you're sure to...
