CEX is the most pretentious business I've ever encountered. On multiple occasions they've reduced the prices of high quality products that I've brought in to sell and when they put it on display for much more!!!!!!! The most recent incident was when I brought in a brand new iPhone 5s to CEX and the phone was in perfect condition. I bought the phone for £300 and CEX reduced it to £80 and knocked £18 off because there was more charger and apparently the phone was not in "perfect" condition… Read Full Review

“Horrible shop don't go near ”

Hay guys I have given Cex 1 star but honestly I don't think they even deserve that. I recently got a Microsoft touch screen phone from the Woolworth shop which is near elephant and castle,right before xmas And within a short period the phone stopped working wouldn't turn on are charge. So by law I brought it back within 28 days. The sales assistant took the phone and I was took it would be seen by there in store service guy and I should return the next day. “Shocking Online Customer Services”

No way to contact the 'back-office', never experienced this in my life, not one person was will to talk to me about the non receipt of my goods. I waited 14 days before chasing something that was supposed to be sent recordered deleivery, this was a joke in itsself. No reply to my chaseer, sent additional chaser a few days later, again no reponse. 3rd chaser sent and still no reply to that. I have been a member of CEX since it was founded in 1992 and it is now a complete shambles, incompetent staff, bad customer service, the Rathbone Place shop being the worst. The level of expertise is very low and a member of staff cleaned a mobile phone I was trying to sell with her shirt. The member of staff who did the test made phone calls from the phone, opened my e-mail account and then pronounced it could not be purchased as it had a fault. “Shop here if you want to be out of pocket ”

I have shopped in CEX in several different areas from Essex to Dundee and the level of service in the store is poor to non existent, Dundee has to be the worst though. I would not send my worst enemy to CEX. They don't refund, they take hours to test anything, they are rude, over priced and the staff often stand at the till just typing stuff and dont even look at you. The online company is even worse. stockton store - got quote for a PS Vita with 3 games. Went off and got 2 other quotes and Cex was the best so put it in to get tested. Waited in the queue initially for the quote as they were very short staffed. Waited again when I went back, told to leave it half an hour. If you want maximum poor customer service and disappointment then this company is highly recommended. Well maybe that is a bit unfair as they did process the order and despatch the goods in a reasonable timeframe but could learn a lot from other retailers. Where it all went wrong was the Grade A Ipod touch I ordered arrived with no headphones, there is no phone number and you have to e-mail support. “Stock always seems low and/or outdated”

The stores seem to have low stock or stock of items that nobody wants. The service is usually friendly and the website is usually great. The stores let them down sadly. The style of some of the shops is not the best and could do with possible refurbishment. The shops are trying to compete against the bigger stores but lack stock. I like their cheapness of items. “I will never darken their shabby outfit again”

These guys have no idea about the law when it comes to trading. If you buy anything and it is faulty them within 28 days you are legally entitled to a full refund....not a voucher...it's even in their T&C's but do they actually do this no..they blag you.
