These guys have no idea about the law when it comes to trading. If you buy anything and it is faulty them within 28 days you are legally entitled to a full refund....not a voucher...it's even in their T&C's but do they actually do this no..they blag you. Bought a HTC Grade A phone that within 3 weeks crashes constantly and reboots, today it refused to switch back on. I purchased a 32gb micro sd card from their Bristol store. It proved TOTALLY USELESS. It does not register/work on any computer. I have emailed this company a couple of times and had NO REPLY. purchased a lens and the condition is absolutely unacceptable, firstly there are no front or back caps, the state of the glass front and back is shocking and there is a grinding on the focus ring like it has grip inside.. “cut and shut i phone”

Bought an I phone 4s from these guys, it never worked properly. Took it to get repaired and found out that it was in fact an I phone 4 with the back of a 4s. It had parts missing from inside and this is why it never worked properly. The phone number given goes to an automated message saying that all queries have to be made via an e mail address. I sometimes tend to buy games from CeX of which most accept to swap the disc just fine but here's the thing, the CeX of Camden is a lot different than the rest, they've got an arrogant attitude, unwilling to swap the disc even though it's the same company and their customer service just isn't good at all. “AVOID - Non Existent Customer Service”

We have been happily using Cex in store and the staff in store (Halifax) are very helpful and the service is good. Online it is a very different company. We had traded in a lot of games in store and had vouchers totalling over £100. I used some of this amount online to order an Ipod which was supposed to be category A (excellent condition). UPDATE - after posting this review I was contacted by the owner of CEX who apologised for the poor service I had received. I received a refund plus an additional £25 goodwill gesture the following day (5th Jan). Whilst I am still unimpressed with the initial service I received, I was impressed by the quick response and actions of the owner. It's just a shame that I needed to post a bad review to get that response. I did mention to him that he seriously needs to do something to improve communication methods with his company and he says that he is currently looking at this.

Brought an iPhone 4 from cex which 4 weeks later has stopped working. I took into the apple store where they took one look at it and said i should go and get a refund asap as it had clearly been taken apart before I brought it, didn't have a serial number where there should be one on the phone and basically was dodgy ! Email support is extremely bad. When specify that I needed a like for like replacement for a computer memory stick, my information was completely ignored and a different brand was delivered. Staff are full of saracastic quips and remarks when nothing was said to provoke them in the first place. “Couldn't Care Less Attitude!”

The item was shipped defective with a crack in the home button. Sent countless messages and they keep ignoring you or send an automated message. The issue is still unresolved. I took a mint Samsung Galaxy S3 into CEX to sell. The phone did not have a mark on it and was in the original box with all accessories. The person behind the counter looked at the phone and said the screen was marked - it was a fingerprint which wiped off! They then agreed that the phone was grade-A and would be tested before they would pay. I was asked to go back in 1 hour. It's usually better to sell it yourself on eBay or Amazon than CeX since they are as you say, dishonest and rude.

I took my old blackberry touch into my local store to see if I could swap it for a bit of cash. It was in fine working order when I took it and once they had reviewed it they told me there was a screen error with a black line across the screen which was "permanent".
