I've had my Cashplus card for several months and can only speak highly of it. The online account is very straightforward to use, it is clear and concise and easy to manage. I load my card at the Post Office for free and it's on the card instantly. I have used it for payments online, contactless and in shops and never had an issue. Main Complaint My main complaint is that I received a text with load limit exceeded please call. “Can't cancel. Zero support. High fees.”

I use Kalixa and have never had problems with them. They respond within 24 hours, its easy to use, they credit wrong charges without problems and there is no difficulty getting a hold of anyone. They do charge a small fee of 0.40 for transactions but not 0.99 like Cashplus according to existing clients, which is far too much. I imagines Cashplus would be the same. “Works Perfectly”

I applied for my card with reservations due to reading some less than complimentary reviews, however...The card works perfectly. I am a nurse for the NHS and when I gave my 'new bank details' to HR I wasn't even sure I would see my wages again! The card works just like a high street bank account. I pay all my direct debits and standing orders through the card without issue. I completely agree. I was the same and had reservations about taking out this card due to the bad reviews but since having the card I now realise that most of the bad reviews are about things that are all explained within the terms and conditions so provided you use the card as described I think it is great. I cannot get a bank account with a normal high street bank so for me this was the perfect solution. I can pay all my direct debits and was really delighted when I was offered the iadvance option. I took out the creditbuilder option and would totally recommend doing it. After the first 3 months of paying it back they then report to the credit reference agencies and continue to report back each month after this. My credit rating has went up already after several months of having it. Well worth having in my opinion.

I got the cashplus card thinking that it would not be up to much and had read so many bad reviews I was scared to put money into it. I opted for the creditbuilder option, which after 3 months of paying will then start to be updated to your credit file. For me this is fantastic. I was also offered an iadvance of £50.....which might not sound much but I took it and paid it back a day early and was delighted that I was even offered some form of credit. “Works for me”

I have only been using cashplus for a couple of months but so far it does exactly what I need. I don't quite understand all the bad reviews below. If you use this correctly then I don't see why you would get charges as stated by others. I've set up direct debits online, use it for card payments and cash withdrawals all at no extra cost. I think this is one of the worst pre-paid cards. I have tried to pay bills using this card and it has never worked. I was once able to withdraw money but it charged me £2. I deposited £30 recently and it showed me as being overdrawn. Please do not use its payday loan service. I used it once and they charged me £50 interest to borrow £200. To your first point, you should have absolutely no problem paying bills from your Cashplus Account. Bill payments are made from our accounts every day, so I’d suggest getting in touch with our Customer Services team who’ll be able to help you sort this out.

We work very hard to make sure any fees associated with using your account are communicated to you upfront, such as £2 ATM charges. If you would like more information on our pricing, or what to check it at any time, you can always view your account Terms and Conditions which are available in your Members Area.

Regarding your account being overdrawn, if you believe there’s been an error here, we’re happy to correct it – again, please get in touch with Customer Services so we can have this sorted out as soon as possible.

Again, I’m sorry that you’ve been unhappy, and if you do believe you were charged in error, please get in touch with Customer Services and we’ll happily fix this.

I have a cashplus account and am forced to use it as i cant get another "normal" account.. I don't know where to start! This account is DUMB in so many ways possible. Firstly, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR EVERY CASH WITHDRAWAL!! So that means if you have your last £10 in the account, you wont be able to access it! I’m sorry to hear you’re unhappy with the fees associated with your Cashplus Account, but I’m hoping we can resolve some of your concerns.

From the information you’ve given, it sounds like you’re using our Flexiplus pricing plan. If this is the case, and, you’re mainly using your card for online transactions and regular cash withdrawals, you might find you’re better off switching to either our Deluxe or Activeplus pricing plan.

With our Deluxe pricing plan there are no electronic payment or transaction fees and UK ATM withdrawals are completely free. This plan does have a £9.95 monthly fee. Our Activeplus plan has a lower monthly fee of £4.95, and a £2 ATM fee, but you won’t be charged for any purchases or online transactions.

If you’d like any more information on this, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Customer Services or visit our website. Under the ‘Products’ tab, click ‘Types of Account’ and the pricing link is at the end of that page.

Lastly, to clear up any confusion, you have until 3:30pm Monday to Friday to make a bank transfer and receive credit for the money the same day.

I'm sorry but your card and services are very obscure. And the customer support sucks. I tried to cancel the card and its impossible to get any kind of support. I certainly don't want to PAY for calls to a company that is suppose to, by law, to provde customer support. You need a proper email support services.
Also, when signing up to the card I did so under the assumption that its a ONE TIME FEE. I would never pay monthly fees. This option was not even known to me and I will make sure my account is not charged continuously with fees.
I use Kalixa and never had problems with them. I now regret ever trying to sign-up with cashplus. I can already see that the company will be a problem.

“Good value easy to use but slow”

I initially wanted a "normal" business account but couldn't get one because of a past problem. So I researched prepaid and this was the best option. I pay £49 / year which works out cheaper than the high street banks so I am more than happy. Cash Plus is a rip-off. I just wanted to have an easy to use pre-paid card to shop online etc, everything was ok for a while then I started getting warning e-mails saying that I had to send documents for an 'upgrade', I had no interest in upgrading and was happy with the card as it was, but within a few weeks they cancelled my card. I had the misfortune to try to use my cashplus card in the cashpoint of Lloyd's Bank in Cheltenham, last month on Feb. 3rd.The machine did not pay out any cash and a notice came up "cannot complete this transaction". I’m very sorry to hear about the issue you’ve had. I can see how being without your money for this time is frustrating.

Unfortunately, in these cases we have no control over cash machines, so we can’t directly resolve this for you. This does mean raising a dispute on your behalf, to request it be investigated by Lloyds.

We work within timeframes governed my MasterCard rules, which allow up to 45 days for the dispute to be investigated by the bank, and for them to confirm the results to us - sometimes this process can be extended if there are delays in receiving information.

To your point on money taking 48 hours to reach your account, this definitely shouldn’t be the case. For your clarity, money transferred into your Cashplus Account before 3:30pm Monday to Friday should always be available the same day, and transfers made after this, or on weekends or bank holidays will be available the next working day.

We’ve worked hard to be able to provide our customers with a service that’s both low cost, and often cheaper than a traditional bank account. I've had my cash plus card for about 4 years without a single problem. I use it like a normal bank account with my wages being paid into it and various direct debits coming out each month. I don't remember how long it took originally, I just noticed it was there in the menu on the left of the website one day. First £50 which I used a few months running, then it increased over the next few months to 500. They have removed it for no apparent reason before now then reintroduced it at a later date so I never rely on it being there although it usually is. I don't know what information they use to decide if you qualify for it, maybe the credit reference agencies have a hand in it but it seems you can't apply for it as such. Just keep an eye on the menu in the members area.
