Strongly reccomend getting this pre-payment card, on times I've had to call customer services I've been dealt with professionally, the staff seemed very knowledgeable. I opened a transaction dispute after a company went bankrupt, I was wary of getting a refund from cashplus, after they have investigated my claim they have issued a full refund. I like the option of having a text alert set up so you know when monies are available to spend. Easy to read statements online. I am now on my... (read more)

“total service beakdown”

When the service breaks (website down, cards not working, hones not answering) you will be left without money for days without any explanation whatsoever. Avoid like the plague. Actually worse than a high street bank if that is possible. Yes, even including those that brought the country to its knees financially. Even worse - you will find your funds impossible to access, debts unpaid etc. I am to be evicted for non payment of rent as a direct result of this. Without evidence my... (read more)

“Card Application Declined”

not 100% guaranteed, I applied for a personal card and for the business account card, they initially sent me emails saying my card was on the way the got a letter a couple of days later saying they were DECLINED. Wrote to the applications Department asking why and they replied that they did not have to say why but the answer was definitely no I am over 18, have a uk address and am on the electoral register! Reported them today to Advertising Standars for false advertising !00% guaranteed (read more)

Well I got my Cashplus card a few months ago and became unemployed not having a bank account arranged to have my benefits paid onto my card Have had 3 payments from JSA one for £50 another for £60 and a final payment of around £200 Waited for ever to see the money in my card account then read on there site that I needed to upgrade my card before they would accept payments of wages benefits etc The puzzle is they actually loaded the £50 onto my card and extremely thankful was I to get... “Useless, frustrating and expensive”

Before purchasing the card i read through the literature and made sure the card and type of account i was signing up for was suitable for what i wanted it for. I chose the Total account and confirmed with customer services C/S that i,d be able to pay in a set amount each month and set up a single direct debit. I've been looking for an alternative to a bank account for years. When I came to the UK from the US it took me 18 months to get a UK bank account. As first cashplus was not perfect. It allowed me the ability to shop online which was great but I still needed my citibank account. Now that they introduced Direct Debit and have bill payment services on their web site I can do everything I need straight with the card and the account they provide. i have been getting money paid in from Glasgow city council since april and up until the end of november ive not had any problems but this month i have missed three payments the council said they had prossed the said payments using my 16 digit card number but according to cash plus they cannot find them and as this is christmas it has upset a little girl of three christmas (read more)

For day to day use it's fine, however if you ever lose your card or have it stolen cashplus will do nothing to help you. They have no facilities for accessing your money, hence if your stuck away from home. reality is your going to have to stay there until you are able to find funds from another source as cashplus are unable and unwilling to help.
