“I have gold card”

Written on: 24/08/2014 by MarielaAdams (1 review written)

I have had an account with My Cash Plus for a long time now. I use my account to have my wages paid in and to withdraw cash from cash machine in the U.K. is just 99 Pence, or is I use the card in the shop its 99 pence per transaction. My wife also uses the card in the Philippines and my charges are around the 4.50 sometimes a little more on bigger transactions. I don't have a problem with them. When I could not remember my pin number they send me a mobile text with the pin and I had it right… Read Full Review

“Unfortunately, I cannot give 0 stars”

Written on: 20/08/2014 by daFlores67 (1 review written)

Applied for an account, I am a new business and from the looks of the information, this was a good and easy way to set up. Applied, and was immediately declined. Called Cash Plus to find out why, from the very little information I gave, I would be declined so quickly. The reason is that I rent an office in a larger entrepreneurial space. I have space, a lease, a mailbox. But because there are other companies in the space, they view that as a "forwarding address." So, I asked "OK, well it… Read Full Review

“Avoid this company been ripped off keep charging interest!”

Written on: 15/08/2014 by Rickee543 (1 review written)

I initially started with Cashplus with their standard prepaid card, I was then sent an email with an "invite" to apply for their proper credit card with a credit limit up to £2000. Did this and got accepted with a small £200 limit. I only bought a book from a well known online store, the book cost about £16. Do you know this book as cost me about £70 in interest charges, I paid the book off and as it's something like trailing interest they charge a small fee was added on. So paid off… Read Full Review

Hi rickee543 I have the same card as I got an email invite too I have not made a purchase yet and now I am concerned about using the card.
My own stupid fault for clinking through etc!
What are the charges you mention? If you don't mind me asking?

Hi Dors01
It's difficult to explain as it is totally different to a normal credit card. There is no interest free period, so once you have used the card it charges 50p a day. But I thought as I'd paid it up I got a zero balance. But no it continued charging!
I logged on to find another £25 in interest had been charged.
Also I believe a £10 annual fee as well.
It has now gone to complaints as I think I've paid it off and more debit interest is added!
It's called trailing interest that continues.
I wouldn't recommend it, also they don't notify you by email or post so it's best to check every day in the member's area.

“Dont Bother!”

Written on: 29/07/2014 by Martiniq308 (1 review written)

Filled out the details online, got accepted. Email confirmation saying card was on its way. Two days later I received a letter saying application cancelled. Do they refund the initial fee automatically? (which would cost nothing) No. You have to ring them on an 0871 number and ask for your money back! This turns into a nice little earner because they can keep you hanging on the phone and earn more out of you. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY… Read Full Review

“Avoid cashplus at any cost!”

Written on: 09/07/2014 by sansin (4 reviews written)

Avoid this bank at any cost. My accountant asked me to open business account in this bank for monthly invoice payment and I am regretting since then. Pros - Even if you have bad credit you can have business account with them. Cons - - BEAR IN MIND this is not a full fledged bank, its a DAMN pre-paid card. - Looks like they have only few custom service people, I tried 4 times in a day and kept holding for 10 minutes everytime and no answer. - Guys on the customer service side are very rude… Read Full Review

“Appalling business, full stop”

Written on: 22/05/2014 by Sickov_Anti-service (24 reviews written)

After wasting 30 minutes entering business sensitive information into the 'mycashplus' website, a message popped up simply stating our application was declined. No reference number, no reasons. So we called MyCashPlus to try and speak to a human being. After negotiating an automated phone system several times, we got through to a human. However on asking, the individual had ZERO information - they had no clue as to why the website accepts some and refuses others. Disgusting. Let's hope the… Read Full Review

“100% Unprofessional”

Some says revenge is sweet, while some says forgiveness is better. This review is neither a revenge nor forgiveness. This is exactly what happened to me. Call it unfortunate, but doesn't need to be if they do what they say. In a nut shell, 1. They will refuse to recognize you despite you providing everything in the acceptable proves of ID and address. This could create a hell lot of trouble for you depending on your situation. For example, they may accept you initially with the same… Read Full Review

“Denied Access to My Own Money - Unethical and Underhand”

Written on: 12/07/2013 by Whataboutery (1 review written)

It makes me laugh - Cashplus must have an entire team devoted to making 5 start comments after a bunch of people have left reviews recording their terrible experiences with Cashplus. I paid some cash in yesterday - over £100. Today they messaged me and told me I can't have it until I upgrade. They are blackmailing me, effectively, to have access to my own money. I have already instigated action to recover my money. But I need it now. To call their customer services will cost you in the… Read Full Review

“Strongly reccomend getting this pre-payment card, on...”

Written on: 06/06/2013

Strongly reccomend getting this pre-payment card, on times I've had to call customer services I've been dealt with professionally, the staff seemed very knowledgeable. I opened a transaction dispute after a company went bankrupt, I was wary of getting a refund from cashplus, after they have investigated my claim they have issued a full refund. I like the option of having a text alert set up so you know when monies are available to spend. Easy to read statements online. I am now on my second… Read Full Review

“total service beakdown”

Written on: 02/04/2013

When the service breaks (website down, cards not working, hones not answering) you will be left without money for days without any explanation whatsoever. Avoid like the plague. Actually worse than a high street bank if that is possible. Yes, even including those that brought the country to its knees financially. Even worse - you will find your funds impossible to access, debts unpaid etc. I am to be evicted for non payment of rent as a direct result of this. Without evidence my housing… Read Full Review

“Useless, frustrating and expensive”

Written on: 10/11/2012

Before purchasing the card i read through the literature and made sure the card and type of account i was signing up for was suitable for what i wanted it for. I chose the Total account and confirmed with customer services C/S that i,d be able to pay in a set amount each month and set up a single direct debit. I was assured i,d be able to do this and i agreed on the monthly charge. To set up the card i showed my passport and utility bill and once card was activated (took numerous expensive… Read Full Review

“Its great!”

Written on: 23/03/2012 by manwag (1 review written)

I've been looking for an alternative to a bank account for years. When I came to the UK from the US it took me 18 months to get a UK bank account. As first cashplus was not perfect. It allowed me the ability to shop online which was great but I still needed my citibank account. Now that they introduced Direct Debit and have bill payment services on their web site I can do everything I need straight with the card and the account they provide. They do charge a fee which is nearly 60 quid a… Read Full Review

Written on: 15/06/2010 by krissuk (2 reviews written)

For day to day use it's fine, however if you ever lose your card or have it stolen cashplus will do nothing to help you. They have no facilities for accessing your money, hence if your stuck away from home. reality is your going to have to stay there until you are able to find funds from another source as cashplus are unable and unwilling to help.
The call centre operatives have excellent communication skills and are experts in the art of dodging questions and providing excuses for why they are… Read Full Review
