I have spent two days trying to cancel a car rental in the US. The customer support phone number doesn't work (I got the message "error has occurred with call forwarding"). The website cancelling doesn't work; the dotted circle in the "cancel" dialog box goes around for ten minutes without ever cancelling the reservation. So did I. I paid $288 USD in advance and received vouchers and emails stating I was paid in full, only to be charged an additional $466 USD for the car with FOX Rental Cars.

As was mentioned in terms and conditions the additional options and equipment are not included to the car price.
The total price could be higher because of the ordered additional staff + VAT%

You made a booking through our site on 4/28/2013 4:43:53 PM independently for the Stavanger Sola Airport.
During making your reservation you choose ECMR class car for the price 260.35 EUR for 10 days (not included any additional options por extras).
As was mentioned in our and rental companies terms and conditions the total price was higher because of the ordered additional options or extras.
All extras like super insurance, baby seat, additional driver, GPS, one way rent, fuel and refueling service, delivery and collection and etc. are own company`s product and they are not included to the car price and are taxable, all this stuff have to be paid at the location.
We checked our post and we can confirm that no any email received from your site from email address shown in reservation.

First, please allow me to apologize for the difficulties that you had.
If you had problems with GPS system you could contact rental company to change this stuff.
On our website is clearly stated that all rental car providers have different insurance system. Also there is a concept like additional insurances which reduce excess and customers liability. All this options are own company`s product and they are not included to the car price and are taxable, all this stuff have to be paid at the location.
Please note, as soon as you will provide us your vouchers number we will open file on your behalf.
Once i receive it, i will advise you directly via email.
