I purchased this fridge/freezer 3 yrs ago and it has been very poor quality from the start, despite being advised by the John Lewis salesman that it was made by AEG (my previous one was AEG and brilliant, had for over 10yrs without any problems!). Within the first few weeks, cracks appeared in the salad drawer front for no apparent reason. A replacement was sent and within days, the same cracks appeared. Didn't bother replacing again as obviously a design/production fault.
The fridge/freezer made strange noises (similar to what I imagine a cow in labour would make!), and the fridge was very wet and constantly mould appeared, despite the fact that it was regularly washed out. Then puddles of water appeared on the floor in front of the fridge/freezer. The door seal split, and finally (just out of warranty), the freezer temperature keeps rising. I did not expect my fridge/freezer to fail after just 3yrs.
I've spoken to John Lewis but basically they don't want to know. I was told that these things happen, I should have bought an extended warranty, and I will have to pay £75 call out for an engineer to look at it.
That's the last time I buy from John Lewis!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same thing has happened to me. I paid £399 for this & thought I was getting good quality as John Lewis has the name. However I experienced many of the same problems, water on the floor, excessive rust & it is in my kitchen, bits of the outside door surrounds falling off. Now, 4 1/2 years later, it is sitting outside, as it just stopped working and the repair man said it is not worth spending money on it.

I wholeheartedly agree with this review - my experience exactly. Just paid the call out and labour charge so now more or less committed to getting two new doors as the seals are no good, which will probably cost another £200.Only difference was I think it was the door drawers which needed replacing in warranty.
