Insurance payments went up from £54.56 to £90.30 despite the new bike being £2000 less in value and 900 cc less and no claims.

Most recently I renewed my policy and the person I spoke to on the phone was extremely helpful and understanding, and sympathetic about previous issues I had experienced. He was very quick (as quick as the process allows him to be I should imagine) and explained everything thoroughly. I insured a previous bike with bikesure that was unfortunately stolen before christmas, when it came to changing insurance over to a new bike and adding fire and theft to the policy this took a very long time, I was on hold for what seemed like forever. At the end of the call I was assured that it was all sorted and my policy had been changed over. When it came to renewing my policy I was told that I was never covered for theft on this particular bike, (some six months) so if it had ever been stolen in that time, I'd paid a higher premium for nothing? I was also told there were no notes on the system to even say I'd asked to have the extra cover, so I don't know why I was charged more? Not very happy about this and has made me think about going elsewhere with cover for my next bike.

Trying to renew bike insurance as an existing customer you are caught in catch 22 trying to get through. Their hours are the same as my work hours so limited to when and how long I could try to contact them. Held in a queue for over 15-20 minutes several times on 0344 number. Tried the free number but that's only for new customers. Tried the phoneback request - they did phone back in under 5 minutes but still had to put me through to the line where I was on hold again for quarter of an hour or more but this time it was their call. Emailed asking for password so I could log on to do it online but autoreply said could be 36 hours before reply. Only way to get password was to hold on and speak to customer services. When I did eventually get through they told me they didn't send out emails of the password even though that's exactly what their website says. Oh and lo and behold I get and email with a password. Hurray, I can now do it online! They may be cheap premiums but was beginning to wonder if it was worth it if you can't get through. Spent over a week trying and I very nearly went with another company simply because my insurance was running out that night and I still hadn't got through. Thankfully have not had to try to get through for a claim - hope that's better. Still I am now insures and next year I won't need to phone at all - hopefully!

Bikesure need to look into their policy of sending attached letters in emails. Either send a letter by Royal Mail, or an email signed by the person sending. My experience of the Bikesure admin SYSTEM (not staff) is not good. My policy was cancelled because of delays in re-registering my address with DataTag! Why should that be such a big deal? Phone contact was good when I phoned them, but the company should use a standard land line number like 01553 instead of a premium rate 0844 number. If they want a non geographical number then it should be 03 not 08
