“Great Webinar Sessions”

Written on: 18/08/2012 by Celidh.Balloch (1 review written)

I attended 4 webinars hosted by Jane Hatton and found them to be really helpful. The information given was not all new but sometimes we need to be reminided of the basics. I found her easy to listen to with everything explained well and each hour was over before I knew it. Certainly helped me. (read more)

“Brilliant Webinar - CV Workshop - Extremely Helpful”

Written on: 17/02/2012 by Therese.McKendrick (1 review written)

I would just like to take this opportunity to advise you that if like me after working solid for 20 years then being made redundant you suddenly are thrown into the world of employability and recruitment then ask your local job centre to sign you up for Webinar. Today I took part in a live web training in regard to how to create a winning CV. I found the whole session extremely useful. Jane answers web participants questions relating to the sessions subject and offers lots of hints and... (read more)

Poor in is application, disappointing overall. I did have high hopes for this service, I have had more responses from basic cv database / online upload site that I have from this website with videos.

Hour or two to cut and paste my CV in to the feild section sees madness after creating a carefully thought out CV, which is only attached to the profile rather than imported. I would not recommend, as it is a time waster! (read more)

The presentations on myworksearch are invalueable to job seeking, the demonstrated presentation style is spot on, answers all questions posed and her knows his subject matter. Since attending writing a personel profile presentation, I change my profile and now get interest from recruiters, it seems to have worked. MyWorkSearch wont find you a job, you have to do that yourself, but it does give you all the tools needed to help you on your way. Its well worth the investment in time.

Written on: 16/12/2010

I was enrolled in Myworksearch by the jobcentre and had no expectations of anything useful. However, I took a look and attended several seminars. None of them contained anything earth-shattering that I should not already have known, however each session proved to be a valuable revision exercise helping me to focus on improving my delivery of presentations or my interview performance.

The delivery style was fairly casual but the use of questions during the webinar (communicated in real time... (read more)

I was enrolled in Myworksearch by my local jobcentre plus office and had high hopes that I would be able to learn some tips on securing a new job. All I can say is that it is poorly laid out and not at all user friendly so I have been unable to actually work out how it can help me.
I also attended a couple of the Webinars after reading the reviews and can only think that I must have been unlucky or caught the presenter on a bad day on both occasions as I found them boring and kept thinking... (read more)

Written on: 25/11/2010

I was an early user of MyWorkSearch and found the site and programme extremely easy to use, well laid out and also extremely informative.
I liked being able to track my progress through the modules and organise my tasks & emails.
Then in July 2010 they modernised the site and now it is confusing, hard to use, I have lost my progress within the programme and also cannot find my data. In short, I have stopped using it and also find the constant barrage of marketing emails too much! I have... (read more)

I work for MyWorkSearch and would like to clarify one point. We do not send marketing emails. The only emails we send to subscribers are reminders of online training courses and information about new features that are added to the site. These are free of charge items that help users make the most of the jobseeking assistance that the site offers. A person can stop receiving them simply by doing any one of: clicking on the unsubscribe link on any of these emails, changing their email preferences on the MyWorkSearch website, calling us or by emailing us. We are here to proactively help people into employment and our latest outcome study reveals that those who accessed the advice and eLearning on MyWorkSearch are 50% more successful at finding a new job than those who do not. Meanwhile 61% of MyWorkSearch users had within 3 months found a new job and 92% of successful jobseekers stated that MyWorkSearch contributed to this outcome.

'My Work Search' is an excellent tool and I have learned a lot. The webinars are very useful. This web-site has boosted my confidence after I lost my job. I'm very optimistic and receiving positive feedbacks to my job applications.

Only one small problem, that the webinar presentation slides require a password to download them, which is not given. Please could you look into it?

Hello,

As the presenter of the webinars - thanks for your comments, they are very welcome!

I also issue the slides after the webinars and they are sent as (non-password) pdf files - if you get in touch with me I can look into this for you as this is the first time I've heard this query.

After reading numerous books on the subject of trying to find a new role after redundancy, and seeing so much "clutter" on the internet it is nice to report on a site that captures what you need in a nice complete package. The site is easy to navigate, and the technology works. They have a very professional manner, and the experience is very much like having a presentation in your front room. There is the ability to ask questions during the presentation through an e-mail type operation,... (read more)

Written on: 16/11/2010 by Maureen Jacobs (1 review written)

MyWorkSearch is a very useful tool to assist with everything from applying for jobs using a CV to presentations sometimes required at the interview stage to the actual interview. Michael is a very honest and straight forward presenter so that everyone in his audience understands the subject. His webinars nearly always run over the allocated time which is great as to it means he cares enough to stay on answer questions; he always responds to emails in a timely manner so you don't have to... I have listen to their web seminars on "Creating an Effective CV" and "How to Handle Difficult Interview Questions." Both have been incredibly useful, the advice is straight forward an easy to follow, the seminar also includes the option to submit questions throughout that Michael always answers. However, most importantly Michael gets you to think about your skills and past experiences and the most appropriate way to answer. Highly recommended and covers a wide range of useful information in... (read more)

Written on: 15/11/2010 by Camberwellguy (1 review written)

I'd had help in a previous redundancy situation that had been funded by my employer as part of the termination package but it was extremely expensive and so I was grateful to be offered MyWorkSearch resources free iof charge by the Job centre.

I find the structure comprehensive, the tutorials both remind and re-train and are pitched at a level that is supportive without being condescending.
The most beneficial aspects to me have been the recent 'webinar' and I gained valuable insight and... (read more)

Written on: 20/05/2010 by IanTernet (7 reviews written)

I was pleased when the Jobcentre gave me the opportunity to use this subscription service for free, then I discovered it was just MyNewJobMe rebranded.
The site is the same... very obstructive. It could be in the running for the title of worlds worst website in my opinion. Just what you don't need in the already frustrating world of job hunting.
The tutorials are ok, but everything has to be done to their format and it is very difficult even checking your own info.
There are plenty of free... (read more)
