I went to rush in Moorgate today (13th June). I booked a day before after receiving a text on 50% off any one hair service. when I booked I asked how much will that be, he said £49 so half price will be £25. when entering the store I said I have an apt for a wash cut and blowdry, when I paid I was told it will be £89. I said I was told it was £25 after discount. they than said I had booked a blow dry and not a wash and cut, but they were happy to cut my hair and make me pay for a... (read more)

Hi all, As a customer that has been going to hairdressers all my life, I would recommend to avoid this salon. My hairdresser first words to me, even before she said hello, were i dont have time to do what you want done, so either you rebook or i do something similar (apply 1 colour, instead of colour and highlights), i agreed to one colour because i wasnt that bother. welcomed in to rushmoorgate was open arms by a pretty young blonde lady.. got took to a seat asked me if i would like a drink.. glass of wine oh wow yes please then i had the lovely georgia look after me for my cut she was very understanding offered me some amazing treatments for my hair.. i was taken over to have my hair washed where hannah washed my hair and my treatmeant i had a beautiful head massage then georgia chatted too me the whole way through letting me know what she was doing and... Fun and friendly staff , beautiful colour and cut. Exactly what I asked for, the director listened and talked me through the whole process, which made me feel very comfortable and confident she understood what I wanted . The massage from the assistant was so relaxing and I loved the nibbles I was given with my drink. I will be recommending my family and friends . My next appointment is booked . (read more)
“SHOCKINGLY BAD!”

Avoid this awful place! I went to have my roots coloured- one tone brown, should've been really easy! I had a senior colourist but it was a total disaster! My hair was brown but my roots were bright orange. This awful job took over 2 hours, and even the colourist admitted it was orange. However i was then subjected to 20 more minutes of having my hair tugged around whilst three staff members discussed the problem (my fault apparently- i should have told them that my hair was resistant). “fab, personal, fresh”

I had my hair cut by a senior director, I have thick short hair and I probably resembled one of the Beatles when I walked in, he gave me a fresh new stylish manageable hair style that looked good day after day, so good I booked him again. Salon staff nice and friendly, shower basins are comfortable and complimentary drink, clean and cool. Highly recommended. (read more)
“Embarrassing”

I had my regrowth highlights done a few days ago. The stylist started from one side and washed it all at the same time. That meant that the first ones were in the bleach for about an hour longer than the last ones. So now I have ended up with a completely grey regrowth on one side and just wrong tone on the other. After waiting over a month for my appointment, I had high hopes. I could not have been more disappointed. The stylist did not listen to what I asked for, which was a long layered bob. Instead she had it in her mind that she needed to take the weight out, even though I specifically told her not to do that. The end result was that I ended up with a mullet. “Outstanding salon”

I have just moved to the area Moorgate and searching for a new stylist. I have read about Emma the salon manager being an amazing colourist. I had the full works cut colour and treatments. She made me feel like a new person. She listened to me and advised me honestly with what will suit my face shape and tones. I seriously trust this young lady and will never go anywhere else. “Won't rush to go back”

Dreadful, just dreadful. Thought I'd try it this weekend because of the half price offer. Wasn't offered a drink, and despite my pleading with the style director, she cut off far more than I wanted her to. The cut isn't even very good and I left traumatised, never to return. Tried to sell me lots of products and struggled to get out without paying for anything other than my cut. Very disappointing for a pricey chain. (read more)

To Start with, i though my experience here would be an amazing one as Rush is meant to be a high branch of hairdressers. The appearance of the salon is excellent, so naturally, i thought my experience would be a good one. When i actually got my haircut, it looked pretty good at the start, but not professional, and a 2 days later, my hair looked EXACTLY the same as before i cut it, even thought i had paid for a very intricate cut. I cannot believe how disappointing this salon is! As a reputable chain with branches in the city I was expecting a good smart hair cut from a skilled professional. I didn't require anything challenging just a trim and the long layers put back into my hair. Once the stylist had finished I was instantly disappointed and tried (as nicely as I could) to explain the problems with the cut. So I made an appointment here because I had a 50% off one service voucher. Overall, I liked my haircut. Joanna gave me exactly what I asked for and was really nice. However.... I had no idea how expensive the cut was going to be!! Beware that the experience level of you stylist also affects the price. Had a bit of an odd experience at this salon to be honest. Went to Rush at the recommendation of a friend who'd had a really good cut at the Covent Garden and Clapham branches. As it was my first time as a customer I got 50% off my treatment, which was a root touch up and tint. Possibly I gave the impression that I was all about the discount (ie they wouldn't be seeing me again and therefore didn't bother), which was not necessarily true as my previous hairdresser has moved and I was testing... I was there today and came out really really disappointed. My stylist was Sinead, she totally did not listen what I had to say, she hardly even touched my hair and there was absolutely no change 'before' and 'after'. I wanted to freshen up my haircut, do some layers, make them lighter. Sinead just trimmed it slightly, asked me 1000 questions about their products and if i wish to buy them. Really not worth your time and money. My 'stylist' was Sinead. Much more interested in selling the treatments/products/brazilian blow dry etc. than actually listening to what I was asking for..and I did not ask for too much- layers on my long hair. I had to remind her twice that the shortest layer should end at the chin-length but it ended up by my shoulder. Sinead decided that otherwise it will be too short... C'mon you just a low-end hairdresser, no one cares about your opinion!

Was just Googling the number for Rush Moorgate to make an appt and came across these bad reviews. I love going to Rush Moorgate so felt I had to write something. My stylist is Emma, she completely understands what I want, is polite and helpful and chatty. I even get wine and pretzels!
The other good thing is the Shu Umera section. It is expensive but if you wanna treat yourself then amazing!!!

I cannot believe the bad reviews on here as my experience has been nothing but positive. I normally hate going to the hairdressers but i actually enjoyed this experience. I was tempted with the 50% off first visit offer so gave it a go. I had Emma and i can honestly say i have never had such a lovely cut and colour. She was amazing and listened to what i wanted and offered good advice and tips on styling (i have very fine hair). I have been back twice now and would never go anywhere else. I... (read more)

I had a similar experience - I had the same hairdresser, a short Italian guy who was very rude to me. I told him I am trying to group out my layers and so wanted the minimum amount taken off my layers just to tidy them up and then more taken off the length to try and 'close the gap'. Simple. He argued with me about this and said I was contradicting myself - all in a very rude way - and then proceeded to cut the layers all back in to my hair!!! Expensive, unfriendly, poor stylist. I went there twice. The first time was an amazing experience. The hairdresser (dissatisfied and on his last day) was fantastic: he asked the right questions, was talented and I came out with my usual haircut but better so much so that even people I never met before complimented it. I thought at last I might have just found a good hairdresser.
So I went back expecting a similar experience, and that's when it went horribly wrong. I have short haircut...

I would not recommend this place to anyone!!
I went here yesterday to have a full head of blonde highlights. A friend in work had been and had given me a 50% off voucher.
I was quite specific and asked for a Jennifer Anniston type look, as in some natural highlights through the blonde. Anyway the whole experience was a let down. Do not go here!!!
Rush has its own academy and well recognised however it is a franchise. Just opened in Moorgate so went after work.
Appointment with 'senior stylist' for £46 (same price i pay to my regular hairdresser round the corner from here). She listened to what i wanted and ended up leaving 2 hours later with my hair exactly the way it was when i went in. I phoned and spoke to emma the Director. She asked me to come and get my hair cut agin by her after admitting that not enough...
